…
Long time viewer, but never
got to send this stuff in so here you go. I know how everyone loves the stories
of meeting the great talent of our sport pro wrestling. So here my experience
with meeting Kurt Angle yesterday July first at the Gateway Grizzlies Game in Sauget, Illinois which is just
across the river of St. Louis. This was the second time I meet Kurt as the first
time was at the 2010 TNA Lockdown fanfest, which was a great time in it own
right but unfortunately mother nature a year later I lost my home and every
collectable I had was lost including everything I had from the first meeting of
Angle outside the picture I saved online.
I got the VIP deal which includes a
Photo with Angle inside the ring, Autograph, and a Q&A. Kurt signed at a
normal table at the ballpark later during the game. The VIP group was only about
Twenty five people max which while small it was still quiet the experience. We
where let in at 4pm where we gathered at a group of picnick tables in front was
a small stage as you can see in the one picture I got attached. Angle came out
at about 4:15 for the Q&A where we got to ask questions.
Sorry in advance to not have a full
transcript of this but the notes I got from it was Angle did speak about the WWE
rumors about returning, which what he wants is one more Wrestlemania match and
go into the Hall of Fame. Brock Lesnar and Chris Benoit where the most intense
guys he wrestled against. AJ Styles is his favorite wrestler to work with
because he so good and easy to work with. Daniel Bryan was the one guy he
wanted to face the most before Bryan retired. Current WWE roster he says Seth
Rollins would be the one he want to face the most but also talked about Dean
Ambrose and Reigns which he talked about the hate Reigns gets. He understands
why fans boo him because he didn't go through the quote ringer and pay his dues
on the main roster but says fans should look past it and see how good he really
is because he thinks he has it all in looks and ability.
He spoke on his WWE leaving and why TNA
for so long which most of it had to do with schedules. Saying he couldn't handle
the 300 days the WWE does and at the time in 06 they where not doing the part
time deals like they have now, which he noticed if they did he would have stayed
as Vince always was like a father figure to him, but since he couldn't get the
time off he wanted and was so hurt with injuries is why he left the WWE and
Vince respectfully release him from his deal. He went to TNA saying he worked
about half the amount of dates he did in the WWE in a year and he stayed loyal
for so long because TNA got him through some tough times and respected the fact
he was paid well and they did give him the time off he wanted and respected his
wishes
Angle answered all the questions with detailed answers. About 30 to 40 mins he took on the Q&A before we lined up to get in the ring for the signing. The Gateway Grizzlies staff took picture that should be online soon which has my picture with Angle since I had Phone issues. I was first in line. Angle was as nice as he could be. Shaking everyone hand, thanking for coming out and talking. No rush from the staff which was such a relaxing experience so major props to the Gateway Grizzlies crew for being so great with allowing the fans to enjoy the moment.

Since the line wasn't long, Angle signed everyone stuff and left to do first pitch. He signed again during the 3 and 4 inning of the game. It seemed more where in that line but didn't count. So in closing I want to thank Kurt for coming out as it was such a great experience and for being so great with the fans. The Gateway Grizzlies for doing such a great job with the whole thing and how they treated us. The VIP had free drinks and food which was great stuff.
Thanks,
Sean
