It was another great Days of the Dead event this last weekend
in Schaumburg (Chicago), IL. The Days crew works tirelessly to put on an
enjoyable event for all.
This show's guest celebrities were Bret "The Hitman" Hart and
Chyna. Both were very popular and both were really great with the fans.
We talked to Bret about hockey. We
talked to Chyna about her participation in a literacy ad program I ran years
ago. She remembered it and thanked me for including her. (She very generously
donated a ton of stuff to the awards part of the program for
students.)
Bret also took the stage and talked about
his career. Days staffer Ed Gonzales asked a few questions and Bret answered
them with thoughtful, in-depth answers. He was not complimentary of Eric
Bischoff or WCW. He had high praise for Jimmy Hart, Nick Bockwinkel and Roddy
Piper. He talked about scripted promos, high spots, old-school wrestling and
more. It was fascinating listening to his thoughts. He came off as genuine and
not bitter.
