…
The fine folks who are behind the Days of the Dead conventions, debuted Culture Shock, a new convention this past weekend. Much like Days fo the Dead a few years back, the first Culture Shock convention was held in Indianapolis.
The organizers of these cons do a fantastic job. They are on-site and hands-on. They are a blur of activity, but they make sure everything runs smoothly. I have yet to hear even a minor complaint from anyone at any of these conventions I have attended.
The celebrity guest list was focused on the horror genre, but not limited to just that. As usual, a handful of wrestlers were among the celebrity guests. I also met up with a handful of wrestlers who were there as fans.
Rowdy Roddy Piper was his usual fan-friendly self. Despite having one of the longest lines, Piper kept everyone happy by making each encounter special for the fans. I had the pleasure of spending extra time with Piper. We talked for a bit before I officially interviewed him. Piper never fails to entertain.
I talked to Colt Cabana about his podcast and his future. He has some interesting things planned. Stay tuned. I think I will be at some of his future appearances.
Cliff "Domino" Compton was also a celebrity guest. Cabana and Domino seemed to get along great and goof around a bit. They seemed like they were genuinely having fun, which always makes it more fun for the fans.
Lastly, I ran into Hardcore Heather Owens and Ed Gonzalez. We talked about their "Ribbin' on the Square" podcast and her upcoming appearance at Resistance Pro's "All the Colors of the Dark" on 3/21 in Summit, IL.
