Genichiro Tenryu [65] held the aforementioned press conference today in Tokyo to formally announce that his retirement will indeed be taking place on November 13, 2015. This of course being the exact day in which he made his professional wrestling debut back on November 13, 1976.

Tenryu stated that he had a good life as a pro-wrestling and that it was truly most enjoyable. He even sent a special thanks to the late Giant Baba who helped him become a professional wrestler. Tenr...yu just recently made a return to the All Japan ring to compete in the 17th death anniversary show for Baba. Though when asked to why he made the choice to retire he mentioned that he needs to focus on his family and his wife who is currently battling with an illness.

No location has been set for the show at this time, but Tenryu did mention that the Ryogoku Kokugikan may be a possibility. The show is currently being billed as follows.

"Genichiro Tenryu Retirement ~ Revolution FINAL TOUR", 11/13/2015

Tenryu, who just celebrated his 65th birthday earlier this month, had previously declared that he would compete as long as he is able. A life-long commitment to pro-wrestling. Though those plans were put into a halt after he underwent lumbar spinal canal stenosis surgery back in late 2011. Tenryu would make his return a year later to declare his commitment to in-ring competition, but Tenryu has decided that he should he should plant his feet before he is worn out for good. He plans to go out while he is still strong enough to fight with his full remaining power.

Tenryu shows no signs of slowing down as he heads into his final match as he plans to compete in all his scheduled Tenryu Produce shows in the months to come. The next Tenryu Project show being in Match at the Shinkiba 1stRING in Tokyo, and May at the Osaka BODYMAKER COLOSSEUM, 2nd Stadium. Tenryu also plans to hold shows in Kumamoto, Sapporo, and his hometown of Fukui.
