There Is a new IWGP heavyweight champion in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

At King Of Pro-Wrestling earlier today (October 13) at Tokyo’s Sumo Hall, Hiroshi Tanahashi defeated A.J. Styles to capture the IWGP heavyweight title before 9,100 fans.

Tanahashi scored the pinfall with the High Fly Flow frog splash at 27:03 to lift the belt for a seventh time and finally break the title record he had co-held with six-time IWGP heavyweight champion Tatsumi Fujinami.
