UIPW, ROH in Canada, IWF, Chikara King of Trios news, Memphis Wild Fire Wrstling…

The Union of Independent Professional Wrestlers presents its final event ever, THE LAST WALTZ, on Sunday September 14th at the Rockpile East Nightclub (2787 Eglinton Ave East) in Scarborough with a start time of 2pm sharp!  With the Wrestlers Union coming to a close, we hope that wrestling fans with join us to celebrate with one last very special show.  Tickets are 12 in advance at Silver Snail Comics (329 Yonge Street, Toronto) or online at www.wrestlersunion.ca.

Headlining this event is a first-time ever indy dream match, as Union Heavyweight Champion "All Ego" Ethan Page defends against former Union Champion "Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander and #1 Contender Brent "Money" Banks in a Triple Threat Match to decide the final Union Champion.

Also on the card, the Union Tag Team Champions Checkmate (Lionel Knight and Christopher Bishop) put their straps on the line against "The Tennessee T-Rex" Rex Atkins and "Dirty South" John Greed: The Southern Vultures.

And in a final, no holds barred, winner-takes-all war, former Northern Lights Unified Cruiserweight Champion "RockSteady" Alex Vega seeks to regain his title from the man who cheated him out of it, corrupt "Senior Referee" Buck Gunderson.

Also on the show, fans will see Psycho Mike Rollins, Rip Impact, RJ City, Jon Atlas, Ashley Sixx, Scotty Turner, Steve Brown, Kingdom James and a whole lot more.  Stay tuned to www.wrestlersunion.ca for more announcements this week, including the participants in the Gauntlet Match that will decide the 2014 King of Toronto!!!

King of Trios Begins in 9 Days!


CHIKARA's massive King of Trios tournament arrives at The Palmer Center in Easton, PA the weekend of September 19th, 20th, and 21st! The biggest tournament in all of professional wrestling is the also CHIKARA’s biggest event of the year, and 2014 is proving to be no different! It will not be offered on iPay-Per-View, so if you want to experience The Big One, you’ll have to join us live in Easton! Tickets are still available here! 

All the teams entered into the tournament have been announced and they include: The Spirit Squad, The Spectral Envoy, Team UK, The Colony, The Devastation Corporation, 3peck0, GEKIDO, The Golden Trio, BDK3, KE4TPG, Team Extravaganza, The Odditorium, The Bloc Party, The Flood, Colony: Xtreme Force, and LAX!
 
Four of the first round matches have been revealed!

GEKIDO (The Shard, 17, and Jigsaw) will meet KE4TPG (Jolly Roger, Lance Steel, and Princess Kimberlee)! Both teams have had an issue with the other in Wrestling is Fun! Can Knight Eye outwit GEKIDO again to advance or will GEKIDO's rage be the key to their vengeance and success?
 
Team UK (Damian Dunne, Pete Dunne, and Mark Andrews) will wrestle The Bloc Party (Mr. Azerbaijan, Proletariat Boar of Moldova, and Prakash Sabar)! A battle between Western and Eastern Europe is set to explode! But only one team can win the war and make it to the quarterfinals!
 
The 2012 King of Trios The Spectral Envoy (Frightmare, Hallowicked, and UltraMantis Black) have a challenge in front of them when they take on The Flood (Volgar, Jimmy Jacobs, and Eddie Kingston)! Will The Envoy begin their path to a second KOT win or will The Flood wash them right out of the tournament?

The Devastation Corporation (Max Smashmaster, Blaster McMassive, and Flex Rumblecrunch) will face Team Extravaganza (Jervis Cottonbelly, ThunderKitty, and Marion Fontaine)! The Devastation Corporation are bruisers who don’t care who they have to hurt to win, while Team Extravaganza believes in old fashioned manners and playing by the rules. Can wrestling ability and skill defeat size and strength or will power prevail at King of Trios?

The Rey de Voladores Returns!

In addition to the King of Trios tournament, the Rey de Voladores (“King of the High Flyers”) will return during Nights 2 and 3! So far, Tigre Uno, the Spirit Dragon Shynron, and Rich Swann have qualified for the first elimination match on Night 2!  The winner of that match will meet the winner of the second RdV eliminator in the finals on Night 3!

Non-Tournament Feature Bouts!

Along with the two tournaments, there will be non-tournament matches as well! Smooth Sailin’ Ashley Remington will wrestle former WWE Superstar Yoshi Tatsu! Remington has taken CHIKARA by storm, but can his “Anchors Aweigh” submission ground Tatsu, who’s looking to spread his wings and make a name for himself at King of Trios?
