Dwayne Johnson's transformation into a movie star is complete after he was named as the recipient of a top honour at an upcoming Las Vegas film convention.
The wrestler known as The Rock kicked off his film career in the 2000s and has been impressing audiences in the past year with his turns in Fast Five and Journey 2: The Mysterious Island.
He has now been unveiled as the recipient of the Action Star of the Year Award at the annual CinemaCon convention later this month (Apr12).
CinemaCon general manager Mitch Neuhauser says, "An exciting performer who first gained attention from audiences around the world when he developed the iconic character The Rock, Dwayne Johnson has taken his charismatic presence to the big screen and has proven over and over again that he can entertain audiences of all ages - whether it be an action-paced film or a family comedy."

Canadian Football League Hall-of-Famer and NWA Wrestling Legend Angelo Mosca Confirms Fanfest Appearance!
"Big Nasty!" The nickname was certainly appropriate -- both on the football field and in the squared circle. One of the all-time greats in both the Canadian Football League and professional wrestling, Angelo Mosca has confirmed his intentions to be with us in Charlotte this August for our NWA Wrestling Legends Fanfest Weekend.
Mosca, a big, mean and nasty defensive tackle, played in a record nine Grey Cup games, the CFL's equivalent to the Super Bowl. In 2011, he co-wrote his life story, "Tell Me To My Face."
Like many football players-turned-pro wrestlers, he began wrestling in the off-season, while still playing for the Hamilton Tiger Cats. When he retired from the gridiron after the 1972 season, he transitioned full-time to wrestling.
"King Kong" Mosca had tremendous success in many territories, not only the National Wrestling Alliance but the AWA and WWWF as well.
Five times he held the Canadian Heavyweight championship belt, which is now owned by fanfest regular Chris Kovachis. Chris caught up with Mosca at a Hamilton, Ontario book signing last September, where this photo was taken of the former champ being reunited with the authentic ring-worn belt he once held.
With special thanks to Chris, the championship belt will be available to fans to use as a prop for photo ops with Mosca at this year's fanfest weekend in Charlotte.
