NWS COMES TO UNION & BLOOMFIELD, NJ THIS WEEKEND 2/17 & 2/18
- 02/14/2012 (9:36:16 pm)
- Bob Mulrenin
and 3/3 to Island Heights, NJ…
Friday night February 17th, NWS returns to the Union, NJ Elks Lodge (281 Chestnut Street, minutes from the Parkway) with a 7:45pm bell time.
With the Super Bowl behind us, tri-state area fans are looking for a new source of sports entertainment... well, the fans in the Union, NJ area will get plenty of entertainment, in the form of three current and former TV wrestling stars. For starters, the football fans who crave hard-hitting action will get their wish, as headlining the show will be a former ECW & WWE & TNA/Impact hardcore icon, Tommy Dreamer. Plus... they say big things come in small packages... coming to Union will be the star of "Hulk Hogan's Micro Championship Wrestling", and the former "Mini Undertaker" and "Mini Kurt Angle" of the WWE, midget wrestling superstar Short Sleeve Sampson. And finally, the star (as he constantly reminds us) of the National Geographic Channel pro wrestling documentary "Slammed", international superstar Danny Inferno, will be appearing in Union.
Along with the superstars that everyone wants to see, Union will also play host to a match that no one wanted to ever see, as former friends Mike Dennis and Chris D'Andrea, who used to be partners as the NWS Tag-Team Champion Jersey Shore Jocks, had a major falling out last year and are now bitter rivals. Unfortunately, it's not only become personal, but after their last showdown in Kenilworth it's a family affair now, as Mike will team up in Union with his father John Dennis to face their rival father-and-son team of Chris and his father Dave D'Andrea.
There will also be another grudge match from the last Kenilworth show as tag-team contenders Too Hot And Dangerous ("Too Hot" Steve Scott & Nick Talent) take on former rivals now united, "Tough" Tony Scorace & Steve "The Gipper" Gipke. There will also be appearances by NWS Junior Heavyweight Champion "The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans, NWS Cruiserweight Champion "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smoothie, Hillbilly Justin Blackwell, Ryan Angus, Snake-Eyez, Wrestling Matt, and much more.
Tickets are only $20 for adults and $17 for kids and seniors.
Saturday night February 18th, NWS returns to the Bloomfield, NJ High School Gym (160 Broad Street, minutes from the Parkway) for their annual supershow, with a 7:35pm bell time.
Six (that's right, *six*) current and former TV wrestling stars will headline this huge event. For starters, three former ECW hardcore icons, the tough and unstoppable Tommy Dreamer, the wild and unpredictable Crowbar, and the bear-chugging Singapore-Cane-swinging Sandman.
Add to that the high-flying "old-school" style of former WWE and AWA Tag-Team Champion, from WWE "Rockers" fame, Marty Janetty.
Plus... they say big things come in small packages... coming to Bloomfield will be the star of "Hulk Hogan's Micro Championship Wrestling", and the former "Mini Undertaker" and "Mini Kurt Angle" of the WWE, midget wrestling superstar Short Sleeve Sampson. And finally, the star (as he constantly reminds us) of the National Geographic Channel pro wrestling documentary "Slammed", international superstar Danny Inferno, will be appearing in Bloomfield.
There will also be an appearance by the wrestler known as Mor-ta-da (a "tribute" to the former WCW Mortiss character), newly crowned NWS Tag-Team Champions "Bounty Hunter" Johnny Ringo & "Hockey Goon" Rocco Dorsey and former champions The Two Rude Dudes ("Corrupted" Corey Havoc & "Rampage" Rogers), Team Casanova ("The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans & Damian Darling), Mister Stars And Stripes, Smiling Smith James, and much more, including the return (as a special enforcer referee) of Bloomfield's own Vicious Vinny.
Tickets are only $25 for a limited number of "golden ringside" seats, and $20 for bleacher seats.
Saturday night March 3rd, NWS returns to the Island Heights, NJ Fire Company Hall (15 Lake Avenue, just off Route 37 between the Parkway and Seaside Heights) with a 7:35pm bell time.
After all the wild events that went down at NWS' last Ocean County show, there will be many superstars looking for payback in Island Heights, not the least of whom is former WWE and AWA Tag-Team Champion and "Rockers" member Marty Janetty, who will be part of a huge six-man tag-team main event that night.
There will also be an appearance by National Geographic TV wrestling show "Slammed" star Danny Inferno, an NWS Tag-Team Title rematch, and much more.
Tickets are only $19 for adults and $17 for kids & seniors.
Tickets for all upcoming shows are available by calling the NWS box office at (732) 888-1704. All major charge cards are accepted, and group rates are available for groups of ten or more.
