Thanks to Chris Sullivan for this report & photos
Saturday Night TNA Impact Wrestling was in Plymouth, MA at the Memorial Hall. The Memorial Hall is a great building for wrestling, 3 levels; floor, mez and balcony. On Friday night it snowed so the weather was not the best but it was less than 8 inches so it was not that bad.
Doors open to GA (which I was) at 6:15. Due to the weather they let people to the seats early. Don West stopped the crowd in the main lobby to push the TNA goods early. Brown Bag special, program, Jeff Hardy figure, mostly. Then after his push he let people into the seating area.
Eric Young and Shannon Moore were signing autographs at the merchandise table. The two stars talked to each other as they signed as many as they could, the line was real long. Don West was in the ring pushing different merchandise. Al Snow was seen walking around before the show but did not want to stop for fans. Fans called for Flair but at first Don West tried not to talk about it, but after a good few minutes of “we want Flair” Don told the crowd that Flair was in Germany on the TNA tour. Fans then called him out on that show for it being cancelled. Don just stopped talking about Flair then.
SoCal Val was the ring announcer or “host” of the night since JB was in India. Started the show with the free backstage pass. Rosita and Sarita came out to stop the pass give away. ODB & Brooke Tessmacher then came out with a challenge, with the winning team saying if passes would be given out. ODB & Brooke defeated Mexican America.
The following match was Garrett Bischoff vs. Television Champion Robbie E (with Rob Terry). It was a solid match with Robbie E carrying the heat, the fans were not into this match. Garrett won the non-title match.
Jesse Sorensen vs. Kid Kash vs. Shannon Moore was the next match. Kash spent the most time in the ring. The match saw a lot of drop kicks and some top rope moves. Kid Kash ended up with a broken nose after a drop kick by Jesse. Moore scored the pin over the bloody Kash.
Eric Young defeated the Pope. Eric Young locked up with the ref a number of times and a few fans. The Pope got into it with the ref and at one point the ref slammed the Pope. Pope pushed the ref and Eric Young rolled him up for the win.
Intermission followed the match. Rosita and Sarita had a meet and greet during intermission. The two girls were very friendly and told the fans to boo them later during the night.
Rob Van Dam & Mr. Anderson defeated Hernandez & Anarquia after a “Mic Check” on Anarguia followed by a 5 star frog splash. The fans were very much behind RVD and Anderson, the loudest match of the night.
Jeff Hardy defeated Christopher Daniels with the “twist of fate”. Daniels used a number of his top moves; BME, Angels Wings but could not defeat the former world champion.
After the match Hardy was given an ice pad for his back and took photos in the ring for $10. TNA did not do the post show autograph event even after promoting it thru out the night. It was a solid show, but it felt less than TNA has done in the past.
