DREAMWAVE Wrestling: “Adversity” August 6th, 2011

LASALLE – Just when you thought it couldn’t get any hotter, DREAMWAVE Wrestling returns to LaSalle, IL at the Knights of Columbus with “Adversity” on Saturday night August 6th! This mega event features the homecoming of the Illinois Valley’s own former WWE Diva Maria Kanellis!

“This show will be a huge event for the Illinois Valley,” said DREAMWAVE owner Jay Repsel. “Maria has done a lot in the entertainment industry from being a WWE Diva, to Celebrity Apprentice with Donald Trump to producing her own music. I think it’s important that our young fans get the opportunity to see someone from our area that has made it big all over the world. ”

Kanellis was born and went to high school in Ottawa, IL and attended college at Northern Illinois University. Her career took off when she was signed to a WWE contract after appearing on the Raw Diva Search in 2004. From there, she appeared regularly on WWE TV and competed at several Wrestlemanias. She also appeared on the 2010 season of NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice with Donald Trump. Maria has since appeared in several TV and movie projects as well as released her own music CD in 2010.

The card will feature title defenses by DREAMWAVE World Champion Acid, DREAMWAVE Alternative Champion “Mr. 450” Hammett and DREAMWAVE Tag Team Champions Zero Gravity. As a special treat, the 2009 WWE Diva of the Year will not only be signing autographs and taking pictures with fans but she will be the Guest Host for the evening and for one night only will be the person in charge of DREAMWAVE Wrestling. “We have worked for over a year to get Maria on our show and it was very difficult with her busy schedule. However, once we got everything squared away, we felt that putting her in charge would be an appropriate way to celebrate the local girl coming home, ” Repsel said.

“This will be an amazing night and I can’t wait to be a part of it”, Repsel said.
