Upcoming Shows This Weekend
This Saturday night July 23rd, NWS returns to the Island Heights, NJ Fire Company Hall (15 Lake Avenue, just off Route 37, minutes from the Parkway and the Seaside Heights Boardwalk) with a 7:35pm bell time.
Former WWE Superstar Manu, will headline a huge night of pro wrestling action in Island Heights. Manu will team up with popular fan-favorites The Atomic Dog and Father Oz in a six-man tag-team main event match against northeast wrestling veteran big man Steve "Monsta" Mack and his teammates, NWS Junior Heavyweight Champion "The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans and "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smooth.
But another match that has the area fans talking is a long awaited showdown for the NWS Heavyweight Title, as current champion "Rampage" Rogers faces off against the former champion and Ocean County native, who has fought his way back to the number-one contender spot and finally gets his rematch, Ray Ray Marz.
There will also be grudge matches galore in Island Heights. The popular Jersey Shore lunatic Slayer takes on his arch-rival of late Bobby Youngblood in a "Loser Gets A Haircut" Match, as both men will put their trademark long hair on the line to settle their score. And in another long-running rivalry, police officer-turned-wrestler "Bounty Hunter" Johnny Ringo, with his crew of "Bounty Boys", will once again face his hated nemesis and current NWS Hardcore Champion, "Corrupted" Corey Havoc.
There will also be appearances by regional and local pro mat stars A.C. Kewl, "Ice-Fire" Steve Zapf, and managers "Big 80's" Donnie V. and Captain Johnny Kool, plus much more.
Tickets are only $19 for adults and $17 for kids and seniors.
Tickets are available by calling the NWS box office at (732) 888-1704. All major charge cards are accepted, and group rates are available for groups of ten or more. Remaining seats, if any, will go on sale at the door one hour before bell time. View the YouTube.com video about this show at
Other Upcoming Shows
Saturday night July 30th, NWS returns to Cartertet, NJ's Divine Mercy/Holy Family Parish Hall (213 Pershing Avenue, just off Washington and Roosevelt Avenues, minutes from the Turnpike) with a 7:35pm bell time.
And since everyone always says that two heads are better than one, NWS presents a night dedicated to tag-team wrestling, appropriately called "Tag-O-Mania", and topped off by a main event match featuring, appropriately, legendary former WWE Tag-Team Champion and Hall-of-Famer Nikolai Volkoff, teaming up for the first time ever with the former ECW Zombie, to face international star Danny Inferno and Carteret bad boy Steve "Monsta" Mack.
And of course, the NWS Tag-Team Champions themselves, Union's own Jersey Shore Jocks (Mike Dennis & Chris D'Andrea), will be in Carteret, defending their titles against yet-to-be-announed opponents. They will be joined by standout teams such as Hot And Dangerous ("Too Hot" Steve Scott & Nick Talent), Team Thunder Horse (Indian Chief Draven & "The Warrior" Jack Spade), "The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans & Damian Darling, Corvis Fear & "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smooth, Los Luchadors (Manuel Manny Moore & Paco Libro), "Corrupted" Corey Havoc & Chris Steeler, and much more.
Tickets are only $19 for adults and $17 for kids and seniors.
Saturday night August 6th, NWS returns to the Bayshore area of New Jersey at Keansburg, NJ's New Point Comfort Fire Company Hall (192 Carr Avenue, minutes from Route 36 and the Keansburg Amusement Pier)for the 2011 Chris Candido Memorial J-Cup Tournament.
The J-Cup tournament was begun in 2000 by the now-defunct Jersey Championship Wrestling, and in 2005 the tournament rights were acquired by NWS, who immediately renamed the tournament in memory of former WWE & TNA & ECW legend, and long-time NWS performer, Chris Candido, who tragically passed away days before the NWS first hosted the tournamet in 2005. This event, the second-longest running annual pro wrestling event in the U.S., has had many winners going on to storied careers in WWE, TNA, and Ring Of Honor, including Low-Ki and Jay Lethal.
This tournament was dedicated to showing off the top cruiserweight and junior heavyweight wrestlers on the circuit, and on this night twelve of them will compete in a one-night single-elimination tournament for the coveted trophy and the career bragging rights that accompany it.
Last week, the first three competitors were announced, current CZW Champion Devon Moore, Johnny Knockout, and NWS Jersey Shore Champion The Jersey Kidd. NWS is proud to announce three more names to the prestigious field: ACE Wrestling's Mike Donovan, IWF Wrestling star Chris Steeler, and NWS Junior Heavyweight Champion "The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans.
But if the heavyweights on the circuit think they will be getting the night off... they better think again... as thirteen of them will be competing in a "Baker's Dozen Battle Royal" for a special prize... the opportunity to face off against former ECW and TNA hardcore icon Tommy Dreamer in a one-on-one match that same night. And if that weren't enough, Chris Candido's younger brother, a former NWS star himself, Johnny Candido will be on hand to pay tribuute to his brother and referee the Battle Royal.
Tickets are only $20 for adults and $18 for kids and seniors.
Tickets for all upcoming shows are available by calling the NWS box office at (732) 888-1704. All major charge cards are accepted, and group rates are available for groups of ten or more.
