Well, I am a long time reader of wrestlingfigs.com, and I knew Georgie from her time at 1wrestling.com. I would correspond with her about signings, and talk wrestling with her. I found her to be a very smart, and engaging lady. I always enjoyed her candor, and honesty when I had questions about wrestling, and I still miss her a lot. She will never be forgotten.

It's so hard for me to believe it's almost a year since i got a call that my friend Georgie had passed away. I don't exactly remember where i met her, but i do remember getting a warm welcome from her whenever i did see her. Months could pass in between and it would only seem like a day and we'd pick right back up where we left off. My favorite memory of her was in New Jersey @ the Cauliflour Alley Club they had there before it moved to Vegas, in a move that shocked everyone including Georgie, they inducted her. I remember the look of shock on her face when they made the announcement, and her getting a standing ovation as she made her way up to the front. For everything she did for the sport, the wrestlers, and the fans, no one deserved that honor more than she did. R.I.P. Georgie you'll never be forgotten. Mo from PA *********************************** I cannot believe it has been 1 year since my friend Georgie has passed away. I still can’t believe it. I think of her everyday. We pass by the cemetery almost every Saturday and we say hi Georgie. It’s like she can hear us. It is funny how you don’t realize how important someone is to you until they are gone. There are so many things that we hear, and say (if Georgie was here we would know what’s going on) or (Georgie would say something about that.) She knew so many people and they would call her and tell her things without her even asking. I have spoken to so many wrestlers and people since she has passed and everyone just misses her so. I was talking to Mick Foley and he made me laugh. He said in a very serious face. (I found out something that really bothered me when she passed away and I said what is it? He said I found out I was not the only one she called sweetie lol) we both laughed. Bubba also said she would always be hi BABY. That is just how she was. She was kind and never hurt anyone. She was a good friend. She was as she would say a journalist and would dig for her news, and did a very good job at it. Georgie you are missed dearly, hope you are at peace. We miss you and love you very much. Love Jeanne *************************************** |
Memories of Georgianne Makropoulos
It's been a year since we all lost a dear friend in Georgiann Makropoulos. I
can truly say that I think of her today as much if not more often than I did when
she first left us. Lots of memories of shows in NY, NJ, Delaware and who can
ever forget the ECW shows at the old "Bingo Hall" in Philly. But it's not just the
shows, conventions and other events that stir my memories of Georgie, but
rather the type of person and friend she was - kind, considerate, generous
and always there when you needed someone to talk to or a favor to ask.
Most of all I'll never forget what a great feeling it was to work with her on
the Chatterbox, doing the covers each month for 18 years. Thanks, Georgie,
for being you. I am proud to be one of your legion of friends who will never,
ever forget you.

I like everyone else that has written in cannot believe it's been a whole year since my 2nd Mom Georgie has passed away. I think of here always, but especially late night when we would talk a lot since we were both night owls. She's definitely been my Guardian Angel this past year, as I'm sure she has for many others.
