Here comes the Ax and Here Comes the Smasher!
If you say those words to any wrestling fan, they'll scream back at you "THE DEMOLITION" like a mental patient. But, that is the iconic nature of Demolition. Undoubtedly the most dominant tag team of the WWF in the late '80's, Bill Eadie sits down to talk with us about his time as Ax.
Ax and Smash are headed to Montreal on September 24 to work for TOW as booked by http://www.WrestleBookings.com. Be sure and tell 'em the Epicenter sent you if you attend this great night of wrestling action!

AX
- Bill Eadie joins the show and updates us on what he’s been doing since wrestling. He’s had some Demolition reunions with Barry Darsow (Smash) which he really enjoys.
- After getting out of wrestling full time, he owned a security company. He ended up selling that company, and now he finds himself teaching special educations to hospital patients & kids from juvenile hall. He says he tries to keep his wrestling past a secret so the kids won’t get distracted.
- He loved the Demolition gimmick and everything about it, including the paint, outfit, & music. Similarities to KISS are pointed out, and he says that was part of the inspiration, but there were various others as well.
- When responding to the critics that say Demolition was just a Road Warrior ripoff. He says that Demolition never tried to clone them & it was just something that started among the fans that were divided between the two teams. He remembers when The Legion of Doom first came into WWF, they were immediately compared to Demolition upon their arrival. He felt that Demolition could have great matches with just about anybody. He admits to not having much chemistry between them & The Road Warriors when they eventually did wrestle. He mentions The Hart Foundation, The Powers of Pain, Haku & Andre the Giant, & The Fabulous Rougeaus as teams that they Demolition had great chemistry with.
- He was the first member of Demolition that left the WWF. He wanted another position within the company, but he didn’t get the right offer and he opted to go to Japan & have various other runs overseas.
- The new incarnation of Demolition with Ax & new partner Blast was not something that worked out. He says that Blast was a nice guy, but thought that just teaming with Ax he’d get over, and he didn’t and the team didn’t work out in the end.
- On reuniting with Barry, he mentioned that they had some differences, but they both got back into contact & they have enjoyed their reunions together.
- On Vince McMahon, he says that even though they’ve had differences, he’s a very good business man that realized that potential of cashing in on Demolition’s past popularity, which is why they got legends action figures a few years back.
- When asked if Demolition would ever join the Hall of Fame, he says he’s been asked that question many times by the fans. He says he’d be flattered & it would be great to be recognized, but its not something either of them are waiting for or expecting.
- We ask Eadie for an Andre the Giant story. He says that many of the best Andre stories revolve around his drinking. The one he tells is about how one time in Japan, he pinned five guys in an elevator and rode up and down with them behind him.
- He loved his career. He had a chance to travel the world and got paid to do it. He wouldn’t change any of it. He says that wrestling was very good to him & his family as well.
