Quick W-1 notes:
Ch-Ch-Ch Changes!!! WORLD-1’s “Dead End” event was anything but a dead end, as the power of the company has shifted totally to the side of Team Symbol. All three members were successful last Sunday via pinfall including Chris Rockwell’s V3 defense of the WORLD-1 championship overly the former ROH and ECW World champion Jerry Lynn. But it was the return of Denver Street that shocked everyone. For months it had been speculated that Street was the real brains behind Team Symbol and it came true on May 22. Where does this leave Richard Guille? Sources tell WORLD1Online.com that Guille was always just legal representation of Team Symbol and that Denver Street will announce his new position on July 18.
Call it a three month absence but Steve Corino, Ricky Reyes, and Alex Anthony all switched affiliations at Dead End. Corino saved his son Colby from an attack from Chris Rockwell during the aftermath of Rockwell’s match with Jerry Lynn. The elder Corino told Rockwell that if he thinks that he is bad, then Corino has done worse. If he thinks he is a cheater, that Corino is a Legend. Rockwell asked the fans if they wanted to see Rockwell defend the WORLD-1 title vs. Corino on July 18 and surprisingly the WORLD-1 fans were suddenly cheering Corino. The fans accepted but were quickly stunned when Rockwell announced it would be Chris Rockwell defending the title against COLBY Corino at Heat Stroke!
Being the North American champion is a hard job. Alex Anthony held the title for ten months and now Ricky Reyes, going into his fifth month, decided to sign with Rob Dimension Enterprises! Yes, Rob Dimension has now created his own company. Many fans are aware that Rob Dimension ran the very successful Premier Wrestling Federation (PWF) from 2001 to 2003 but on May 24, Dimension held a press conference to announce the formation of Rob Dimension Enterprises, where he will manage the professional careers of not only pro-wrestlers but actors and musical acts.
“I am already the smartest man in wrestling but now I will go beyond and do things that no one has ever done before!” Dimension said of his new company.
He was already seen at Ring Of Honor’s television tapings talking to members of ROH and even managed a pre-show match up. Now with the dominant North American champion as his cornerstone, this new company may take off!
Pro-Wrestling WORLD-1 was sad to see the tenure of GPS, Gordon P. Samsonite, come to an end on May 22. GPS, former B4W and North American champion, was defeated by long time rival Tommy Thunda in a Loser Leaves Town match. There was even a young kid seen crying as the popular GPS was escorted from the building. WORLD-1 wishes Mr. Samsonite all the best in his future.
Alex Anthony has seen that his ways with BLKFriday was wrong, dissolved the group, and asked the WORLD-1 fans for forgiveness.
“Sometimes as champion you don’t realize the pressure you are under.” Said Anthony, who was the North American champion for 10 months. “I let people like Sabian influence me. But no more. I am a veteran and defending this wonderful country of ours for great fans that come to WORLD-1. I was letting them down. The real Alex Anthony is back!!!”
Anthony will actually have a chance to come into Heat Stroke as the North American champion again as he will challenge Reyes at the TWA event in Plymouth Meeting, PA on June 5. Visit www.TWAProWrestling.com for tickets.
Super Sweet was seen talking to Jerry Lynn for almost an hour after the Jerry Lynn seminar. A few members of the roster mentioned that there was something different in Sweet’s eyes.
WORLD-1 would like to thank the great Jerry Lynn, not only for his amazing matchup with Chris Rockwell, but for his help with the WORLD-1 and other freelance wrestlers with his seminar. Every attendee reported how much they learned in only two hours with Lynn. W-1 recommends to all independent promotions to bring in Jerry Lynn to help out their young crew!
