The Assassin Will Be At Fanfest; Tenth Guest Announced Thus Far!Another of the most prolific masked men in the history of wrestling
has confirmed his appearance at this August's NWA Wrestling Legends
Fanfest Weekend!
One of the all-time great bad guys, The Assassin will be one of many
featured legends signing autographs and taking photos with fans in
Charlotte August 5-8. He is the tenth guest announced thus far, with
many more to be made in the coming weeks!
Additionally, he will help us honor "Mr. Wrestling" Tim Woods and Mr.
Wrestling II, inducting them into the Hall of Heroes Class of 2010 on
Friday night, August 6.
Individual Hall of Heroes Tickets Now On Sale!
The fourth-annual Hall of Heroes Dinner Banquet and Awards Ceremony
takes place Friday night, August 6, 2010 at the NWA Wrestling Legends
Fanfest Weekend in Charlotte, North Carolina.
This year's awards ceremony, hosted by Jim Cornette, will honor eight
great "heroes" from wrestling's past, including Reggie Parks, Billy
Robinson, Joe Blanchard, Greg Valentine, the late Johnny Valentine,
"Mr. Wrestling" Tim Woods, and Mr. Wrestling II.
We'll also be announcing some very special "presenters" of this
year's Hall of Heroes awards as we get closer to Fanfest weekend!
The awards ceremony follows a wonderful dinner buffet that begins at
7:30 p.m. Many of the honorees, presenters, and other featured guests
from the weekend will be on hand to share in this once-in-a-lifetime
experience.
Each dinner table will seat eight people, likely consisting of six
fans, a wrestler, and possibly the wrestler's spouse or family member.
We cannot guarantee which wrestler will be seated at your table, only
that you will be seated with a wrestler. Soon, everyone that's
purchased Hall of Heroes tickets will be contacted via email and given
the chance to select a wrestler you'd like to be seated with. No need
to submit seat requests now!
The dinner banquet and awards ceremony will take place in the Hilton
University Place Hotel's largest ballroom. There will be one entrance
to the ballroom. You will need your Hall of Heroes ticket to enter.
You will be directed to your table, which is numbered. There will be
ushers in case you have trouble locating your seat. There will be a
buffet line on each end of the ballroom. You may use either. They will
remain open until 9 p.m. While it's not an "All-You-Can-Eat" buffet,
no one is going to discourage you from going back for seconds, or
thirds, or fourths. There will be PLENTY of food! The menu will be
announced in the coming weeks.
Some of the guests confirmed to be joining us for this year's Hall of
Heroes banquet include Bill Apter, The Assassin, Joe Blanchard, Tully
Blanchard, Jim Cornette, Ted Dibiase, Ivan Koloff, Nikita Koloff,
Reggie Parks, Billy Robinson, Sunny, Greg Valentine, Jimmy Valiant,
and Mr. Wrestling II.
Please don't hesitate to get your Hall of Heroes tickets if you plan
to attend. The response to our three previous awards ceremonies has
been nothing short of tremendous. The banquet has sold out each of the
past two years!
VIPs save $10 on Hall of Heroes tickets, when purchased together with
our VIP "All Access" Pass. Hall of Heroes tickets for non-VIPs are $75
and can be purchased separately here:
http://www.nwalegends.com/2010/vip.htm
You'll find out who you'll be seated with when you pickup your
tickets and VIP materials at Registration. You will also be assigned a
"table number."
Still cameras WILL be allowed at the dinner banquet, but there will
be a "No Standing" policy in effect. Take all the photos you'd like
from your seat, but please do not stand to take someone else's photo
or to pose with someone for a photo. Anyone not abiding by this
request will be asked to remove their camera from the room. This is
necessary to provide EVERYONE a view of the proceedings. We're not
just trying to be hard on folks.
No video cameras.
Please do not ask for autographs during the dinner banquet. This is a
rare chance to have dinner and socialize with some of our heroes.
Please don't ruin the moment by interrupting someone's dinner, asking
for an autograph. Anyone not abiding by this request will be asked to
leave on the first offense. Sorry, no second chances here either.
Please do not walk from table to table, socializing.
Please turn your cell phones off or on vibrate.
There will also be a "No Chasing" rule. If a wrestler gets up during
the proceedings to excuse themselves, please do not follow. For
heaven's sake, if Greg Valentine needs to go to the bathroom, he
deserves the chance to do it in private.
Dress code is casual; use your own discretion. The only thing we ask
is that the males wear a shirt with a collar. No tees. No shorts.
Early during dinner, our staff photographers will make their way
through the ballroom taking "table photos." Please be helpful and
courteous as our photographers create another lasting memory of your
weekend. They will ask you and your tablemates to pose for a group
photo with the wrestler/legend seated at your table. Before the awards
ceremony wraps up, we'll distribute a sample copy of your table photo
and you'll be able to order it and pick it up later that evening or
the following morning.
Please join us in making this another very, very memorable evening!
