NWA ANARCHY TV TAPING 5-1-10 RESULTS

Aaron Lee/Chris Mayne def. Evan/Kevan Rymer

afterwards Lee and Mayne claimed to be the VIPs of Hardcore Hell and were invited to add a touch of class to the event. A videotape was shown on the big screen of Mayne and Lee arguing outside the Arena prior to Hardcore Hell about not having tickets. John Johnson pulls up and sells them two tickets at $500 plus.

Bo Newsome def. BJ Hancock

Don Matthews def. Shaun Tempers via DQ when Orion Bishop interfered. Not sure who he was aiming for, but he seems as if he is trying to make a statement

Prior to the match, Dan Wilson announced the official disbanding of the Rejects, and that he was moving on to other projects. Wilson left Tempers on his own, but promised to handle any outside affairs he needed help with.

Tank and Mr. Black went to a no contest, when Andrew Alexander got involved, prompting Billy Buck to make the save.

Anarchy Young Lions Champion Andrew Pendelton III came out to the ring and tossed the Young Lions Medalion in the trash. Before he could continue he was interrupted by Slim J who told him he had no clue about respect, but that he was more than willing to teach it to him.

Caprice Coleman def. Truitt Fields to retain the NWA ANARCHY TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP

During this match referee Dee Byers came to ringside and gathered all security personnel to the back. It didn't take long to figure out why, as Ace Rockwell burst through the curtain and was headed straight for Fields. Security, referees and a few wrestlers tried to restrain him, and it served as a distraction allowing Coleman to get the win. Rockwell kept trying to get at Fields until Jerry Palmer came out and promised Rockwell he would get a chance to get his hands on Fields, but would announce how in 2 weeks.

The Entourage (Black/Alexander) def. Tank/Billy Buck (Alexander pinned Buck)

Anthony Henry def. Skirra Corvus

Brodie Ray Chase def. Seth Delay

Jerry Palmer came out to the ring to announce that Shadow Jackson had not received clearance to wrestle, and therefore would not be wrestling tonight or until he was cleared by a doctor. Shadow Jackson came out, and told Jerry that concussion or not he wanted a piece of Mikael Judas. Jerry Palmer continued to refuse until Shadow not only produced a waiver and clearance, but brought up personal family matters. Palmer allowed Shadow to fight which led to.....

Mikal Judas def. Shadow Jackson to win the NWA ANARCHY HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE

Shadow attacked Judas before the bell, and put up a valiant effort, but the effects of the concussion and the beating from Hardcore Hell were too much to overcome. Mikael Judas is now a 2 time NWA Anarchy heavyweight champion.

The next NWA ANARCHY TV TAPING is 5-15-10

NWA MAIN EVENT TV REVIEW EPS 8 by LARRY GOODMAN

Opening with former NWA Mid-America Heavyweight Champion Will Owens overjoyed that Orion Bishop had won the belt back for “us”.   Bishop wasn’t into sharing. Owens said it was all Chad Hyatt’s fault. “What about me? What about Wild Thing. I’m supposed to be the champ.” Chrisjen Hayme chimed in with “What about Raven?” Owens said he was going to kill Hyatt in the ring tonight. Dan O’Manley introduced himself. He was lisping like Dusty. His tropical shirt was unbuttoned to show his chest hair, was visible, and he had both a cigar and a cane. “Aren’t you Rudy Charles?” Owens said. O’Manley said he got that all the time, but he didn’t see the resemblance. O’Manley said he would have Owens’ back and gave Mike Posey as a reference. Owens brought up Posey’s talk about aliens. O’Manley said Posey was right about the aliens, and he wasn’t coming back to Nashville until they were gone. O’Manley patted Owens on the shoulder. “Listen, tonight, you and Chad Hyatt, I got you’re back, baby.” Owens reacted like he had entered the Twilight Zone.

Aaron Camaro and the hand wringing evilness that is Jeremy Arnold touted two title matches on this week’s show.

(1) Matt Boyce defeated Chrisjen Hayme to retain the NWA Mid-America TV Title in
8:42

Camaro was on point when he said it was competitive. Hayme had this crazed intensity when he was on offense. Good match because both sold in such a way as to make the other guy look good. Boyce won it with a top rope frogsplash crossbody. Major pop for the finish, which was really well done.  Check in hand, Reverend Dan Wilson laid out an open challenge to anyone that could take the monster Se7en off his feet. The most  impressive thing was the way Rev was able to make himself heard without a mic.

(2) Se7en (with Reverend Dan Wilson) beat Bad Boy
Dixon in 2:18

Horrible match. Seven is so green. He sold a move that missed him by two feet. Worse, he halfway sold weak stuff that he should have shrugged off. You’re supposed to be a freaking monster! Se7en gave Dixon a high boot to the face for the pin. That part looked good.  Se7en powerbombed Dixon after the match.

(3) “No Mercy” Tommy Mercer decimated Terry Teague in
3:19

Arnold said Mercer looked agitated. I guess so. He sucker punched Teague before the bell. It was awesome. Arnold said Teague chose the wrong night to grow a heart. Right again! Mercer has this predator energy about him. Coincidentally, he’s built like Randy Orton.   Teague bowed up a couple of times. “Not a whole lot of nothing,” Camaro said. Mercer hit The Mercy Killer for the pin.

DURING THE BREAK…Mercer gave Teague a second Mercy Killer. He got in the cameraman’s face and challenged Boyce, Mercer went  for #3 on Teague and Boyce’s attack was right on time. It ended up as a huge pull apart involving the entire locker room. A good one. Only  a couple of guys ran out at first, and it built as additional guy kept hitting the ring.

They came from commercial with the building abuzz in the aftermath. Camaro said they needed a medical update on Teague. How about a legal update?

(4) Will Owens beat
Chad Hyatt in 4:55 after distraction by Dan O’Manley

Hyatt had his back turned when the bell rang. Owens destroyed him and refused to allow the pin. Hyatt got fed up with the humiliation and  made a big comeback that had Owens reeling. O’Manley ran out to distract the ref. Owens gave Hyatt a low blow to get the pin. Owens  wasn’t sure what to make of O’Manley.

(5) “The Wrestling Hybrid” Orion Bishop beat Steve-O to retain the NWA Mid-America Heavyweight Title in
9:56

Camaro ran down a list of former champions including Buddy Rogers and the Blue Yankee. Meanwhile, O was having no luck getting  Bishop off his feet. He eventually took him down with an arm drag. Camaro said O wanted Bishop on the mat to neutralize his combination of technique and power. Arnold said not so, because Bishop was a also state champion caliber wrestler. Bishop imposed his will, dismantling O with a belly to belly suplex, a german suplex, and the Katahajamie. O kicked out of Collateral Damage (reverse splash), so Bishop went for the F5, and O countered with a DDT. O’s comeback was missing something. Bishop blocked his finisher, and O got his lone near fall with double knees to the chest. Finish saw O take a flying leap off the middle rope into a midair spear by Bishop.

Jeff Daniels approached Mercer in the locker room and congratulated him on smartening up.

“I told you from day one. You could do it all. You could have it all in the palm of your hand. You can headline Wrestlemania someday, kid.  But now that you’ve smartened up, why don’t you let me finish taking you, where I told you I was taking you? That’s all the way to the top.”

Mercer said he had been doing fine on his own, and he didn’t anybody. “I don’t even need your old ass, Jeff.” “That’s a little disrespectful,  don’t you think?” Daniels said. Mercer said Daniels had been trying to kill him for the last year. Tough love Daniels called it. He was just trying to smarten Mercer up to the fact that the people didn’t give a damn about them. They just wanted to be entertained. Daniels again asked Mercer to give him the opportunity to finish what he started. Mercer said he had Boyce right where he wanted him, and he didn’t need Daniels. Daniels said he was the greatest NWA television champion ever. He said Mercer was choosing to do it the hard way, and there would come a time when he would want Daniels’ help.

Comments: This was the best episode of NWA ME TV since promoter Mike Porter brought Bill Behrens in to head up production. Smart things are happening – like elevating both champions and their respective titles in the same hour. The handling of Bishop in his first defense was crucial, since the heavyweight title had been trivialized by putting it on Hyatt, albeit for only one week. The way he won (focused, aggressive, no bumps, leading to a clean pin) and the way the announce team put him over (Camaro and Arnold are getting better by the week), were just what the doctor ordered. O was the right guy to take the loss. I don’t see him on the same level as Boyce and Rockwell. No shame for either O or Hayme in losing the way they did. The segment with Mercer baiting Boyce made the TV title feel like a hot property. Mercer has the makings of a great heel. Seems like I’ve written that before. It’s amazing how far he’s come in such a short time. Se7en, on other hand, appears to be on the slow path. I popped for the return of Daniels. What a great addition. His interplay with Mercer was good stuff, and it opened a storyline that is rife with possibilities. Ditto the deal between Owens and O’Manley. The opening vignette was lunacy reminiscent of of ECW TV in its heyday, and it produced another great performance from Owens. The production quality was better this week. Not saying it was good.
