WRESTLICIOUS READY FOR FIGHT
Hit Series "TakeDown" To Debut On The Fight Network in May
The hit action/comedy series Wrestlicious TakeDown will air on The Fight Network (http://thefightnetwork.com) in Canada beginning in early May 2010. TakeDown will be the only all female wrestling series featured on the network in 2010.
With the new Fight Network deal, Takedown expands its Canadian distribution. It will continue to air on Bite TV (http://bite.ca) where it premiered March 1, and created a huge buzz.
"We were thrilled to be approached by The Fight Network" said Steve Blance, producer of the series. "They know great wrestling and have a sense of humor as well. They get us. We are looking forward to a great partnership with them as we continue to grow the Wrestlicious brand."
"We are ecstatic about the addition of Wrestlicious TakeDown to our weekly programming lineup," said Ariel Shnerer, The Fight Network's Programming & New Media Manager. "With myriad world-class wrestling promotions from both past and present featured on The Fight Network, Wrestlicious will have a perfect home here. Canadian fans can now tune into The Fight Network and see some of the best women's action on the planet. As the professional wrestling business has evolved, the number of quality female performers has increased. In Wrestlicious, these competitors all come together under one roof to deliver the most action-packed half-hour of female wrestling action ever produced."
Wrestlicious TakeDown features Canadian wrestlers Autumn Frost (Jennifer Blake), Alexandra The Great (Danyah Rivietz) and The Naughty Girls (Portia Perez and Nicole Matthews), all of whom were ranked in the PWI Female Top 50 for 2009.
Wrestlicious TakeDown airs in the U.S. on cable and Dish Network via MavTV (http://mavtv.com) and is syndicated via America One Network (http://americaone.com), and independent syndication. Distribution deals are pending for South America, Asia and Europe, and will be announced soon.
Key management personnel for Wrestlicious include former G.L.O.W executives Blance and Johnny Cafarella, legendary wrestling manager Jimmy Hart, and founder Jay Vargas, the youngest Powerball winner in history.
