Northeast Wrestling presented March Mayhem last Saturday night (March 13) at the Derby High School, in Derby, CT.

                Fans braved the heavy rain and strong wind until doors opened at 5:30pm.  Line when down the hall to the café to a special meet and greet with the N.E.W. stars.  Signing at 5:30 was Mick Foley, Tommy Dreamer, Angelina Love, Brian Anthony, Jalil Salaam, Bull Dreed, Jason Blade, Roxxi (Nikki Roxx), and Ron Zombie.  Hacksaw Jim Duggan came to the meet and greet closer to 6:30.

                Prices for autographs are reasonable.  Foley was $10.  Everyone else was $5.  Another $5 to buy a photo from the wrestlers.  All the signers were great.  Jalil is great to watch.  He had a “going out of business” sale.  He was selling just crazy things he had; VHS tapes, DVDs, books, candy, toothbrush holders, baseball cards.  It just looked like he cleaned out his closet and sold stuff.  He had a crowd around him during the meet and greet just to hear his deals.

                In the gym there were different vendors.  Highspots, a figure dealer, another dvd and autograph dealer, and the Northeast Wrestling table.  All vendors had great deals.

                The show did not start until 7:30.  Northeast Wrestling always gives fans a chance to meet the different wrestlers, see the merchandise tables, and so on before their events.  NEW promoter is always around saying hello to fans, and Kurt Adonis was taking pictures with fans.

                Match 1:

Frankie Arion defeated Tomasso Ciampa in a great match.  A lot of back in forth.  One spot saw Ciampa go for a powerbomb but turned it into a back-cracker.

                After the match Brian Anthony and his Anthony Army (Bull Dreed and Eddie Latham) attack Frankie.  Mick Foley came out and said he was going to have total control on what happens in the main event.

                Match 2:

Angelina Love pinned Roxxi.  Angelina worked heel, but  the crowd cheered for her.  Great match.

                Match 3:

Bob Evans defeated “The Man Scout”.  A lot of comedy in the match.

                Match 4:

Hacksaw Jim Duggan beat Jalil Salaam with the 3 point closes- line

                Intermission:

Duggan, Foley (who had his wife and children with him), Tommy Dreamer, Roxxi, and Angelina signed during intermission.

                Roxxi came out and through t-shirts to the crowd.  Ring Announcer promoted WrestleFest at the Mid Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, NY on Saturday, March 20, 7:30 p.m.  Featuring Roddy Piper, Booker T vs Mr Anderson (aka Mr Kennedy), Velvet Sky vs Angelina Love, Tommy Dremer vs Jerry Lawler and more.  Plus announced that on May 1^st Booker T and Dusty Rhodes will be at the next CT Northeast Wrestling Event.

            Match 5:

Matt Taven was the winner of a 4 way dance featuring Mike Bennett, Rob Eckos, and Jason Blade.  A lot of high spots and the crowd was red hot during it.

            Matt Taven will face former WWE Tag Team Champion Paul London for the N.E.W. Heavy Weight Title at WrestleFest.

            Match 6:

Tommy Dreamer and Ron Zombie defeat the Anthony Army after Tommy hit a Death Valley Driver through a table on Brian Anthony.

It was a great show and look forward to WrestleFest next week.
