NWA ANARCHY TV TAPING REPORT
NWA Anarchy taped two hours of television last night in Cornelia. With three tapings down and three to go before Hardcore Hell on April 10, things appear to be in pretty good shape because matches are being set up well in advance.
Attendance at the NWA Arena has been up for the February tapings, both coming in at around 130. There were more kids in the crowd last night.
It was a productive evening on the whole. All of the segments involving the major players came off well. A tag match featuring an unlikely babyfaces duo produced the best in ring action. A member of the TNA talent roster made a surprise appearance. They set up a huge showdown match for next taping, the kind that might actually get more people into the building.
There were a few issues. The show ran three hours and had an excess of content for a regular TV taping. That’s OK once in a while, but a steady diet will makes it more difficult for fans to stay hungry for the big show. The first hour had two babyface vs. babyface matches. The Cornelians have a low tolerance for such things and it showed.
NWA Anarchy owner Jerry Palmer announced that Anarchy would be running a dark match at each taping to showcase talent “on the edge” of making TV with a 7:55ish starting time. To juice things up a bit, Palmer said the winners of tonight’s match would face The Entourage later in the evening for a spot in a #1 Contenders Four Way Dance.
(1) The Ambassadors (Jacoby Boykins & Marcus Howard) defeated Aaron Lee & Chris Mayne in
A video update segment featuring Kareem Abdul Jamar made its debut. Jamar recapped the highlights of the February 6 show featuring awesome stills photographed by Cassie Wright. A nice gimmick here was the 3 Pointer – a fine way to drive home the three key happenings from the previous show.
(2) B. J. Hancock beat Adryan Hawkins to win the NWA Anarchy Young Lion’s Title in
(3) Truitt Fields & Ace Rockwell beat Brodie Ray Chase & Seth Delay in
On the WrestleVision, Ambassadors said they were getting the opportunity of a lifetime. NWA Anarchy Television Champion Caprice Coleman entered and said he was the best on TV. Phil Shatter corrected Coleman, saying being the NWA National Heavyweight Champion made him the best on TV. Coleman said Shatter only defended every 30 days, while he had to defend every two weeks. Coleman intimated that Shatter was afraid to put the title up against Aiden Chambers, because it might end like his match with Steven Walters last time (loss via count out).
(4) Don Matthews beat Strykynyn in
Slim J congratulated Bo Newsome on being the other top contender named for the three way Young Lion’s Championship match at Hardcore Hell. Slim said he had set up a test for them against one of Anarchy’s best tag teams ever. New Wave’s music hit the PA.
(5) New Wave (Steven Walters & Derrick Driver) beat Bo Newsome & Slim J in
(6) Phil Shatter (with Jeff G. Bailey) beat Aiden Chambers to retain the NWA National Title in
Kimo hit the ring. Shatter tried for the PTSD but Kimo got him in the Oriental nerve hold. But before he could strike the death blow, Kimo was attacked by Jesse Neal. WTF? They left Kimo laying to end hour number one.
(7) Entourage (Andrew Alexander & Mike Mosley with Mr. Black) defeated Ambassadors (Jacoby Boykins & Marcus Howard) in
Bailey came out with Neal and cut a promo portraying him as a superior fighter to Kimo. Bailey said he had handpicked Neal to finish Kimo. Bailey said Neal had military training equal to Kimo’s –techniques such that Bailey said he would have to kill us if he told us – and was also a trained pro wrestler via Team 3D.
(8) Kimo beat Jesse Neal (with Jeff G. Bailey) via DQ when Shatter interfered at
Palmer came out and said this situation was getting dangerous. Therefore, he was ordering a steel cage match for March 6 AND the NWA National Title would be on the line.
(9) Caprice Coleman beat Jeremy Vain (with Orion Bishop) via DQ to retain the NWA Anarchy TV Title in
Coleman said he just about knew that was going to happen and invited anyone in the back to be his partner. Out came Tank.
(10) Jeremy Vain & Orion Bishop beat Caprice Coleman & Tank in
Post-match, Tempers attacked Tank and laid him out with the hangman neckbreaker.
(11) Shadow
Mikael Judas came out and stood toe-to-toe with
NOTES: Workers and fans alike were raving about the match Shatter and Walters had at the February 6 show…Bill Behrens left just as the show was getting started. Going forward, Behrens still be involved in helping with the television but generally will not be present during the tapings...Shatter gets a shot at the NWA World Heavyweight Title on March 14 in Charlotte at the NWA New Beginnings in a three way vs. Champion Blue Demon and Adam Pearce...Cassie White was at ringside taking photos again this time. Her photos of the February 6 show were amazing

I realize this is over a week late...
On
The show began with Ultimate NWA Heavyweight Champion Adam Roberts coming out and announcing that he will defend his title against one of the men that beat he and Amos Moses on the last show, one half of the tag team champions Patrick Bentley. He also announced that he will have new t-shirts available soon for his fans, now known as The "A" Team.
Matt Fortune came out for his match to one of the loudest choruses of boos I've ever heard at Ultimate NWA. He told the fans that since Valentine's Day was so close and he had apologized to the fans last week....he was going to give them the opportunity to give him a kiss.... for $5 each. Amos Moses comes out and says he'll do it. Fortune closes his eyes and turns his cheek, only to get punched by Moses.
1) Amos Moses d. Matt Fortune in
Fortune shined in this match with some stiff offense. He used his speed as an advantage to avoid the raw brawling strength of Amos Moses. Fortune did a number on the arm of Moses with stiff kicks, stomps, dropkicks, even working the arm over on the ringpost outside. Fortune threw everything he had at Moses but the crowd got behind Amos and he couldn't be held down. He locked in the full nelson, Fortune broke free, he locked him up again tighter, and hit the Wooly Swamp Drop for 3.
Moses is recovering in the ring when Ben Thrasher's music hits. Thrasher says he's not done with Moses. He's going to show the people of Ultimate NWA just how dangerous he is. He tells referee Nick Richards(aka Harry Potter) to call for the bell and that it's a match because he says so and he continues to threaten Richards until he does.
2) Amos Moses d. Ben Thrasher in
Thrasher absolutely destroyed Moses. He beat him pillar to post and continued to damage the arm that Fortune had worked on. Thrasher continuously choked Moses to referee counts, where the ref had to step in and break the hold. Thrasher eventually got tired of Richards breaking his chokes and tells him "Don't Touch Me!", Richards breaks another choke and Thrasher picks him up and sets him on the top turnbuckle and says "Stay There!". The beaten down Moses, uses it as an opportunity to roll up Thrasher and get the victory.
We have our first intermission and it's announced that Ultimate NWA will return to Scottsboro on February 27th for a special fundraiser show for the Manna House. If you bring two canned goods, you get $2 off of a ticket but fans are also encouraged to bring more than just two.
Ultimate NWA's interim commissioner Chase D comes out and tells everyone he has a special treat for them, something he hasn't done in a while... he then proceeds to strip down to red boxer shorts, doing his "Big Fat Oily Guy" routine from his TNA days, dancing up on the horrified ring announcer, who escaped as soon as he could. Ben Thrasher hits the ring again, still angry about his loss and he lays out Chase D until Adam Roberts makes the save.
A video is shown on the big screen of Matt Fortune backstage. He's looking at Adam Roberts' robe, when he hears Adam Roberts coming back into the locker room, talking to Adam Jacobs. Roberts kicks Fortune's bag out of the way and tells Jacobs that he taught Patrick Bentley everything he knows and that he knows some more interesting information about Bentley. They walk off and Fortune reappears from a locker that he jumped inside of. He grabs the robe and puts it on and then struts away with it. He said "The Big Man will be happy with this"
3) Adam Jacobs d. Kent Reznor with an inverted DDT combo in
Reznor showed a lot of offense in this match but he couldn't match the speed and strength of Adam Jacobs. Reznor attempted to keep Jacobs down but Jacobs continued to fight back, before hitting an inverted DDT combo for the three count.
4) Reckless(Patrick Bentley & Chrisjen Hayme) d. The Southern Skys(Dump Sanders & "Lil Tater" Jervis Cullman) w/ Jubee Jane McGee to retain the Ultimate NWA tag team championships in 11:26 after Bentley nails Sanders with the belt and Hayme clips his knee
This match started with thumb wrestling between Patrick Bentley and the much bigger Dump Sanders. Bentley starts to lose so he kicks Sanders to break it up. Lil Tater chases Chrisjen around the ring and Chrisjen grabs Jubee Jane McGee. Lil Tater makes a fist and says "IVE HIT HER BEFORE!" haha Hayme bails on that plan. After some back and forth action, Hayme & Bentley begin doubleteaming Lil Tater, while distracting the ref by instigating Sanders to get in the ring and do something about their cheating. Jubee Jane McGee gets on the apron and slaps Chrisjen. Chrisjen pulls her in the ring and gives her a piledriver! Tater takes Hayme out to the outside in retaliation. Bentley and Sanders are the legal men and the ref is checking on McGee. Sanders picks Bentley up for a powerbomb and Hayme throws a tag belt to Bentley who smashes it into the head of Dump Sanders. Dump won't go down so Hayme rolls in the ring and clips the knee of Sanders, Bentley falls on top of him and the referee counts to three.
Adam Jacobs and Adam Roberts come out during the second intermission to wish one of the fans happy birthday. They banter back and forth about each other's careers. Jacobs said Roberts made it all the way to WWE... as a seamstress!.... Roberts said Jacobs made it all the way to TNA... and ran into the side of the ring before his match! In the end they make up and all is well. Funny stuff.
5) Adam Roberts d. Patrick Bentley in
Bentley was pulling double duty and Roberts had certainly done a lot on the show already as well but they had a good back and forth match here in the main event. Bentley slapped Roberts and bailed. Roberts chased him and Hayme ducked down to sneak attack Roberts but Roberts ducked him and battled both Hayme and Bentley. He slammed Hayme and threw Bentley back in where he slammed him down as well. Roberts goes up top and comes off with a big elbow on Bentley for two. Roberts puts Bentley on his shoulders for the main event slam but Bentley gets out of it and goes to work on Roberts. Roberts blocks a suplex and puts Bentley up in one of the longest holding suplexes I've ever seen. It was impressive. Chrisjen Hayme began interfering and Adam Jacobs came out to even the odds. Jacobs took care of Hayme, as Roberts was able to hit the Main Event Slam for the win.
Roberts celebrated at ringside until Ben Thrasher came out and destroyed him. Thrasher slammed him down hard with a big powerbomb and posed over him with the belt.
Notes: Still no sign of Will Owens. It's rumored that we may have fan voting for Ultimate NWA yearly awards at the next show. February 27th is the return date to Scottsboro. Who will step up as challengers to the tag team championship? Who will Adam Roberts go after on the next show as Matt Fortune has taken his robe, and Ben Thrasher has laid him out? Many Ultimate NWA talents are booked for the NWA Main Event tapings this Thursday in
