PEARCE PREPARED FOR NWA NATIONAL CHAMP SHATTER

SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA (February 9, 2010) – Former NWA World champion“Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce is doing something he rarely has in the
past – he’s going back on his spoken word.
“When I told Phill Shatter point-blank that I was looking past him
to Blue Demon, Jr. (the current NWA World champion,)” said Pearce,
“I meant it. But hindsight affords us the ability to look back and
see things we may have missed on the first go-round. And so I did. I
got so caught up in wanting to look Demon in his eyes that I didn’t
care what contract was placed in front of me.”
Pearce eagerly signed to face NWA National champ Phill Shatter at
NWA: New Beginnings! this Sunday afternoon, February 14 in Charlotte,
North Carolina when he heard that Blue Demon, Jr. was also slated to
be on the card. “But I had to step back to take a second look at
what I said,” continued Pearce. “Phill Shatter is nothing to look
past. He’s a beast, a man amongst boys in this wrestling game, and
being the great champion that I am, I know better. I had to train for
Shatter; I had to be ready.”
Pearce quickly signed to face NWA British Commonwealth Heavyweight
Champion Dru Onyx on January 23 in Quebec City, Quebec. “Onyx was
also a giant, also a champion,” said Pearce. “He was the perfect
choice to test myself against. Over six-feet four inches tall and
three-hundred thirty pounds. Comparable in size and strength to
Shatter. And as I suspected, he was simply out-classed.” Pearce was
able to defeat Onyx and take the championship, and now has his sights
set on Shatter.
“I fell one giant and took his gold,” said Pearce. “Now it’s
time to do it again. Get ready Shatter, because I am. And when the
dust settles in Charlotte, I’ll be gunning for Demon.”
