…….Feb 5TH & 6TH and Feb 20TH
National Wrestling Superstars kicked off 2010 with a spectacular event at the Manville VFW Hall on Friday night, January 29th with an event that featured everything a wrestling fan could hope for including TV legends, stars and even coffins.
Before the start of the event, Danny Demanto came out with Kevin Matthews as his personal body guard. Matthews did a shoot on Mr. Anderson (aka former WWE star Ken Kennedy). Danny, who did not have an opponent for the evening told Commissioner Gino Moore that he is the future of NWS and challenged anyone on the NWS payroll with a wrestling background to a match. He challenged Commissioner Moore, the referee and finally picked out Sonny Boy Gulano, who was helping with security as his opponent. Danny tells him If you lose, you go back to being a security guard for the night. Kid agrees. For the 1st 3 minutes Danny was all over Sonny Boy but surprisingly, the young upstart found his groove and threw 4 forearms at Danny, causing his mouth to fire up and hit him with a vicious piledriver for the finish. Both Danny and Kevin gloated all the way back to the locker room
Match #2 was a 3 Way High Flyers Showdown with 3 of the best cruiserweights representing 3 different companies in one match. 1st out, representing Ring of Honor, making his NWS debut, was Alex Payne, 2nd, representing Chikara Wrestling, was the popular Frightmare and 3rd, representing the NWS and FwF, it was Mr. Entertainment J.D. Smoothie. Smoothie convinced Payne to come over to his side and they double team Frightmare. Eventually they both eliminate him. Smoothie then went to high flyer Payne and turned on him for the win
Match # 3 was a Big Man Tag Team Attraction pitting Hasheem “Chemical” Ali and Jack Space against Indian Warrior Draven and Richie “Ice Pick” Lowinski. The battled all over the ring, ignoring the referee. The finish saw All 4 men battle outside. Spade and Ali took out Draven with gimmick and then double teamed Ice Pick with gimmick, threw him back down for double pin. Commissioner Gino Moore, who was also running the sound board stood up and said “I saw what just happened here and I don’t like it one iota. So tell you what I’m going to do. Next itme back here, Friday night, May 7th, it’s a Manville Street Fight, Falls Count Anywhere Around The Ring and Weapons Are Allowed. I am going to break the NWS Family Rules and tell the fans to bring weapons for the wrestlers. Sticks, Pans, Street Signs…Anything They Want. It’s Going To Be A WAR!!
Match #4 started off with ring announcer Dapper Johnny Falco giving the usual warning
Dapper gives usual warning telling parents and children they have about 60 seconds to protect themselves from the most awesome tag team ever to come into pro wrestling, the Nigerian Nightmares. Then he introduced The Patriot and asked Patriot…do you have a partner as of yet and if so, let me know so I may bring him or her out. Patriot whispered in Dapper’s ear. Dapper says OK…here we go. “Ladies & Gents, please welcome the Patriot’s hand picked partner tonight, you saw him out here earlier this evening, another masked wrestler. Stand and welcome back Frightmare!”. Bout saw lots of Frightmare high spots off Patriot/Big Body Slams. Plenty of false finishes. When it looks like Patriot and Frightmare were about to win, Demanto and Matthews run to the ring and the referee had no choice but to declare the match a no contest. In the meantime, the Nightmares double-teamed The Patriot. Demanto and Matthews double team Frightmare. Matthews went to work on mask as Danny held him up. Anderson/Kennedy out for the save. Kennedy went after Matthews. Matthews taunted the main event but told the crowd the match would happen when he was ready and not until then.
Match #5was part one of the double main event. Out first was Too Cocky Kevin Matthews accompanied to ringside by Danny Demanto. Then, his opponent. Ken Anderson came to the ring and giving the NWS credit, had a microphone ready to drop from the ceiling. As Anderson grabbed the mic, the crowed played right into him calling out the name “Kennedy”, but Anderson said no, that name would be gimmick infringement so he opened up to Anderson…Anderson. Lots of good action on both wrestlers part and there was one spot where Anderson had Matthews in a submission hold and when Matthews refused to submit, called for the microphone and started singing a Bon Jovi song and had Matthews scream the yelling parts into the mic. Then, when it went back to the action, Matthews took over and looked like he might actually defeat the former WWE and current TNA star, but the referee got in the way and was knocked to the canvas by Anderson. Matthews continued the assault and had Anderson down for a 7 or 8 count with no referee. Then, he went to try to help the referee but would up being caught by Anderson and the matched turned around just as the referee came too and made the 3 count. After the match, Demanto attacked Anderson and told him “you may have cheated your way tonight, but tomorrow night in Brick, it’s a different story.
Match # 6 was part two of the double main event…a first time ever Last Man Standing Coffin, Table and Doors Match featuring 4 of the top junior heavyweights on the east coast. First out was one half of the NWS Tag Team Champions Corvis Fear, next was a J-Cup Runner Up from South Philadelphia Devon Moore, then the current Junior Heavyweight champion, The Love Machine Nicky Oceans was introduced followed by last years J-Cup Winner and current NWS Jersey Shore Champion Myke “G.Q.” Quest
Although only January, this match ranks as one of the most entertaining of all times with all 4 going for the win. After around 8 minutes Corvis Fear was put through a door by Devon Moore, then at about 12 minutes, Oceans put Moore through a table leaving Oceans and Quest to battle it out. After another 10 minutes or so, Quest managed to get Oceans into the coffin and was carried out by 4 druids

NWS Results From Brick, NJ 1/30: Current TNA Star Ken Anderson (aka Former WWE Star Mr. Kennedy) Vs. Danny Demanto, The Nigerian Nightmares Vs. WWE Alum Sal Sincere & Kevin Matthews, Nicky Oceans Defends His Title Against Judas Young, And More As NWS Sells Out The Jersey Shore
National Wrestling Superstars continued its 2010 kickoff weekend with the second of its three shows on Saturday night January 30th. And despite the extreme cold and unexpected snowstorm, a sellout standing-room-only crowd packed into NWS' favorite Jersey Shore venue, the Brick, NJ Elks Lodge, as NWS gave the Brick area fans a hot night of action.
NWS ring announcer Johnny Falco welcomed his co-hostess for the evening, WSU ring announcer Destiny.
In the opening contest, the team of "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smoothie & Saint Vengeance defeated Kamakaze & G. Fatal. The match was mostly even until Smoothie threw Kamakaze into his own partner G. Fatal. An enraged Fatal blamed Kamakaze, and refused to tag in and left the ring, leaving Kamakaze to be flattened by Smoothie's flying "Leg Drop From Delaware" and pinned 1-2-3.
"The Evil American Turncoat" T.N.T (with manager Gigalo Joe Jones & bodyguards Danny Demanto & Kevin Matthews) defeated Ray-Ray Marz. After Demanto and Matthews shot the mouths off about how they would win their own matches later on, NWS Commissioner Gino Moore ejected them from ringside as T.N.T did not have paperwork for them to be in the match. Marz had the support of the crowd behind him, and he kept pace with T.N.T most of the match After a flying Thesz Press, it looked like Marz might get the win, but as manager Jones distracted the referee, Demanto and Matthews ran back to the ring and attacked Marz, locking him in a Matthews-Lock and then leveling him with a double chokeslam, and then rolled the still-groggy T.N.T on top of him before fleeing the ring. The referee turned around and only saw T.N.T on top of Marz, and counted the 1-2-3 for T.N.T
In another tag-team match, A.C. Kewl & G-Had defeated Jersey Shore madman Slayer & luchador Manuel Manny Moore. The four men battled inside and outside the ring, and while Slayer and G-Had were battling on the outside, Kewl stunned Manny across the top rope and then chokeslammed him for the 1-2-3.
In the first of the two main event matches, The Nigerian Nightmares (with manager Voodoo Princess Sheeda) defeated WWE alum Salvatore "The Situation" Sincere & "Too Cocky" Kevin Matthews (with manager Gigalo Joe Jones), with former ECW brawler The Equalizer as guest referee. Before the match started, Equalizer did the customary referee pat-down of Sincere and Matthews, and found that they had hidden multiple foreign objects in their tights, including chains, brass knuckles, a fork, and even a can of cooking spray down the front of Matthews' trunks. (No comment, as this was a family show!) Once disarmed, the match started, and the Nightmares initially frustrated Sincere and Matthews with their size advantage. After the Nightmares missed a Tower of Doom superplax attempt, Matthews and Sincere were eventually able to isolate the smaller of the two Nightmares (if you consider 400 pounds small) in their corner. After Matthews tried to get a pinfall with his foot on the ropes, and Equalizer refused to count it, Matthews attacked Equalizer and tried to lock him in a Matthews-Lock. But Equalizer fought out of it and leveled Matthews instead, and then the Nightmares hit Matthews with a double splash and Equalizer counted a quick 1-2-3 for the Nightmares. Immediately after the match, an enraged Sincere and Matthews attacked Equalizer, with Demanto running in to make it three-on-one. But the attackers were eventually driven off by the appearance of TNA star Ken Anderson (aka former WWE RAW TV star Mr. Kennedy), who would be facing Demanto in the other main event match later on.
Hasheem "Chemical" Ali came to the ring with his manager Gigalo Joe Jones, and announced that he had issued an open challenge to the NWS locker room, and only one man had been brave enough to answer the challenge. Well, not exactly a "man", it turned out to be The Illegal Space Alien.
Hasheem "Chemical" Ali defeated The Illegal Space Alien. Ali made short work of the Alien, dominating him totally before hitting a pair of F5's and pinning him. But Ali wasn't satisfied, and wanted more. He pointed out NWS rookie Sonny Boy Gulano, who was doing Security duty that night, and challenged him to a match on the spot. The Brooklyn rookie was not about to back down from a fight, and despite Commissioner Moore's warning, accepted the challenge.
Hasheem "Chemical" Ali defeated Sonny Boy Gulano. Gulano shocked the crowd, and especially Ali, by coming at Ali with all he had, and his speed and sheer guts were able to keep pace with Ali's power and keep him off balance for several minutes. When Ali missed his "Chemical Spash", Gulano leveled Ali with a DDT and it looked like a major upset was in the works. But once again, manager Joe Jones distracted the referee and T.N.T ran into the ring and chokeslammed Gulano, and rolled the stunned Ali on top of him. The referee turned around and saw Ali on top of Gulano, and counted the 1-2-3. Referee Mike Dillon was told by the crowd what had happened, and was about to reverse the decision when T.N.T and Ali attacked him too, before being driven off by the appearance of The Equalizer and Ray-Ray Marz. An angry Commissioner Moore decreed that the apparently reunited original Baghdad Bullies would have to face The Equalizer and former WWE RAW star Snitsky at NWS' "Jersey Shore Tag-O-Mania" in March in Point Pleasant, NJ.
NWS Junior Heavyweight Champion "The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans retained his title by disqualification against Judas Young. The veteran challenger Young took the fight to Oceans and kept the match even. When Oceans tried to use his title belt as a weapon, the referee took it out of his hands, and Oceans responded by throwing the referee into a charging Young, knocking him out cold. Young piledrove Oceans into the mat, but there was no conscious referee to make the count. Oceans then picked up his title belt again and swung at Young once again, but Young ducked, kicked the belt out of Ocean's hands, and leveled Oceans with it instead. But the referee had woken up and seen that, and called for the bell to disqualify Young.
In the other main event match, TNA star Ken Anderson (a.k.a WWE TV alum Mr. Kennedy) defeated "The Cold-Hearted Playa" Danny Demanto (with manager Gigalo Joe Jones). Demanto had blindsided Anderson the previous night, so Anderson was gunning for him, and after his typical comic introduction (which included forcing referee Kenny Edwards to stand on a chair and hold the microphone over his head a la his former WWE days), the two men locked up. Anderson dominated early, and Demanto rolled out of the ring and claimed his knee was injured, but when Anderson tried to help him to the back, Demanto leaped up and attacked Anderson, revealing he had been faking it all along. Demanto then held the advantage for the next few minutes, eventually locking Anderson in his version of the Camel Clutch, but Anderson powered out, and the two traded blows and holds for the next several minutes. In their tribute to Anderson's WWE days, Demanto hit a Five-Knuckle Shuffle, and Anderson shook it off and "hulked up". Demanto went for a Rock Bottom, but Anderson blocked it and hit an Attitude Adjuster. Demanto then went for a Pedigree, but Anderson blocked it again and hit a Chokeslam instead, followed by a boot to the gut followed by a Stone Cold Stunner, but could still not hold Demanto down for the three-count. Demanto then hit a Diamond Cutter on Anderson, and went to the top rope for a Frog Splash, but missed, and Anderson finally put Demanto away with his own move The Spike, and got the 1-2-3. Nicky Oceans tried to take advantage of the moment and jumped up on the apron, but Anderson was right there watching and Oceans halted his attack, and Oceans was instead himself attacked by Ray-Ray Marz. Commissioner Moore announced that in March at Point Pleasant, Marz would team up with Ryan Blackheart to face Oceans and his "Team Commando" partner Kevin Matthews. Anderson closed out the show by hitting a Spike on manager Gigalo Joe Jones to send the crowd home happy.
NWS returns to action next weekend with another twin-show weekend, Friday February 5th at the Union, NJ Knights of Columbus Hall, and Saturday February 6th at Edison, NJ's St. Matthews School Gym, with both shows headlined by WWE star "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan.
