.

This was sent in earlier this week from Pete Theophall, a longtime friend of Georgiann Makropoulos...

It's been two days since I got the call from Eric, and I still can't believe that Georgie has passed on to that often talked about "wrestling ring in the sky". I first met Georgie at a remote broadcast of John Arezzi's Pro Wrestling Spotlight show in Feb. of 1992. The show was held at the Press Box Cafe in Brooklyn and the featured guest was Cactus Jack. "Long story short" (I'm quoting Georgie), my buddy Charlie G and I wrote a poem called the "Ballad of Cactus Jack", and I got to read it over the air that night. Little did I know that Georgie, whose voice I had heard numerous times on the PWS radio show but had never met, was there that night. She loved the poem and wanted it for her Chatterbox newsletter. We became instant friends and I wound up being a writer for the Chatterbox and cover artist for the last 18 years. As a lifelong wrestling fan, there was nothing that could top being part of Georgie's world. Over the years she became like a big sister to me. Wherever I went and whoever I talked with, they would always say "Any friend of Georgie's is a friend of mine", and no truer words were ever spoken. I can't think of anything that is a bigger tribute than to say "Long story short - Georgie, you were the greatest, and you'll live on in our hearts forever." Rest in peace my dear friend.
