NWS Opens 2010 With Huge Three-Show Weekend 1/29-1/31 Headlined By Former WWE (and Current TNA) Star Ken "Mr. Kennedy" Anderson, Plus WWE Alums The Giant Silva & The Patriot & Sal Sincere, The Nigerian Nightmares & More
National Wrestling Superstars kicks off 2010 with a three-show star-studded weekend January 29-31 that will include many "firsts", the biggest being of course the first area appearance of Ken Anderson (better known as former WWE TV superstar Mr. Kennedy),
Friday night January 29th, NWS returns to their central Jersey hot spot, the Manville, NJ VFW Hall (600 Washington Avenue, minutes from Routes 28 and I-287) with a 7:45pm bell time.
Not only will Mr. Kennedy/Anderson be headlining the show in singles competition, another first that is sure to leave the fans out of breath is NWS' first ever "Last Man Standing Coffins-Tables-and-Doors Match", featuring four of the top middleweight performers on the circuit today in the likes of NWS Junior Heavyweight Champion "The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans, Oceans' arch and NWS Jersey Shore Champion "G.Q." Myke Quest, NWS Tag-Team Champion Corvis Fear, and Philadelphia standout and J-Cup runner-up Devon Moore.
Also donning the tights, and the ceremonial headdress to boot, will be Indian Warrior Draven, who has been an area fan favorite over the last few years, and will have his hands full that night with his opponent. Also seeing ring time will be Brooklyn's Sonny Boy Gulano and the infamous Jack Spade, plus Chikara Wrestling star Frightmare and Ring Of Honor standout Alex Payne.
And what Manville show would be complete without the appear of former WWE & WCW TV star "America's Hero" The Patriot. And this time The Patriot is definitely on a mission, as he will join forces with a mystery partner to challenge the 800+ pound undefeated behemoths known as The Nigerian Nightmares, who will be accompanied by their manager, the beautiful and cannibalistic "Voodoo Princess" Sheeta. At the last Manville show, these two bulldozer-sized individuals blind-sided The Patriot after his match. Like the country he represents, America's Hero will never back down from a fight, but he has never faced an onslaught of this magnitude. Will he triumph... will he even survive? Come to Manville and find out! Ticket prices for Manville are still the same as 2008 and 2009, only $19 for adults and $17 for kids and seniors, and are available by calling the NWS box office at (732) 888-1704.
Saturday night January 30th, NWS heads down to the Jersey Shore and their favorite venue the Brick, NJ Elks Lodge (2491 Hooper Avenue, minutes from The Parkway, Route 70, and the Brick Plaza) with a 7:35pm bell time. Mr. Kennedy will make an encore appearance at the Jersey Shore, but that is far from the only first, as on-and-off Baghdad Bullies member Hasheem "Chemical" Ali has issued an open challenge to take on any wrestler or wannabe in the building. And, the still-undefeated 800+ pound behemoths The Nigerian Nightmares, with manager "Voodoo Princess" Sheeta, will battle another pair of heels who are calling themselves "Sincerely Cocky" (and rightly so), former WWE TV bad boy Salvatore Sincere and former WWE developmental protege "Too Cocky" Kevin Matthews.
Also returning to the ring (we think) after a forced sabbatical is popular Ocean County referee Mike "Quick Count" Dillon, along with strong area pros like G. Fatal, Kamakaze, and the debut of Ray-Ray Mars and bad boy Gee-Had, plus "American Turncoat" Evil T.N.T, the popular Jersey Shore madman Slayer, A.C. Kewl, Manuel Manny Moore, and many more. Tickets have remained at the bargain price of only $20 for adults and $18 for kids and seniors, and with the Elks Lodge almost always selling out, make sure you get yours early. Tickets are available by calling the NWS box office at (732) 888-1704.
Sunday afternoon January 31st, NWS travels even further south to Christiana, DE to join up with their Delaware affiliate Funkdafied Wrestling Federation for "Funky New Years 2010" at the Christiana Fire Company Hall (2 East Main Street, at Route 7, minutes from I-95/295/495 and the Delaware Memorial Bridge), with a 3:30pm bell time. Headlining that show will be the seven-foot-seven 400+ pound former WWE Oddity The Giant Silva, as he takes on not just one, or two, or even three, but *FOUR* other wrestlers in a unique "Gullivers Travels Match". The undefeated Nigerian Nightmares will also be on the card, along with "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smooth, the nearly 500 pounds of fun in Dr. Ruthless, Ruff Ryder, former ECW star Wild Bill Wilde, and much more. Tickets are available in advance for only $15 for ringside seats and $10 for general admission by calling the FWF box office at (302) 420-7287.
