| Well the holidays are over and so is UCW's Christmas break. We were back on the road this past Sunday afternoon, January 3rd, in Somerset, KY at Dave's After Dark. We want to thank all the fans that came out to support UCW during the New Year's weekend and that are helping Somerset become a regular stop for Ultimate Championship Wrestling. The show kicked off like every other UCW event with the playing of The National Anthem. At least, that's what we thought. As soon as the anthem started to play out came "Irish Arrogance" Dyron Flynn and "Big Canada" Seth LeDuc, The Irish-Canadian Connection. They ran down the Somerset crowd and the USA and demanded that everyone stand for the playing of the Canadian National Anthem. During the anthem, the crowd was intense with USA chants that didn't seem to please The ICC. After the playing of The Canadian National Anthem, Dave the ring announcer told Flynn & LeDuc that he didn't care where they were from. He said we are in Somerset, KY in the United States of America and we are going to now play The National Anthem. The ICC didn't like this to well. Match #1) The Irish-Canadian Connection beat Randall Shane & Kid Dynamite when Seth LeDuc pinned Kid Dynamite after using his hockey stick. With the win, The ICC gained a UCW Tag Team title match later in the show. Match #2) The debuting, Eric Benjamin picked up a DQ win over "Impressive" Anthony Wayne. Match #3) "Dream Weaver" picked up the win over Kid Dynamite after a failed "Monkey Flip" attempt by Dynamite which allowed "Dream Weaver" to put his feet on the ropes for leverage. Match #4) UCW Women's Champion, Sinn-D retained her championship against Amanda Ruffen. Before the main event, 1/2 of the UCW Tag Team Champions JD Thunder came to the ring. He told the crowd that his partner Doug Vines wasn't in the building. Therefore he had three options. One, he could forfeit the titles. Two, he could face Lucky the Leprechaun and the Kool-Aid man by himself or three he could find a partner. He said he has someone who has his back. He brought back out Randall Shane. Match #5) JD Thunder & Randall Shane beat The Irish-Canadian Connection when JD Thunder pinned Dyron Flynn after a "belly to belly" suplex. After the match The ICC complained about being cheated out of the titles because Randall Shane wasn't supposed to be in the match. So, UCW Promoter Terry England made a match for January 16th in Monticello, KY. He said it would be The Irish-Canadian Connection taking on Justin Sane & Charles Colton and the winner of that match will get UCW Tag Team title show on February 7th in Somerset, KY. The duo accepted and the match has been signed. ------------------------------------------------- UCW Wrestling returns to Somerset, KY on Sunday afternoon February 7th at 5 PM EST at Dave's After Dark. However, before then we head to Monticello, KY at The National Guard Armory on Saturday Night January 16th, 2010. You will see; **MAIN EVENT** UCW Tag Team Championship Cash Flo & Steve Marino w/ Mike Justice -vs- Doug Vines & JD Thunder (Champions) UCW Ultimate Championship The Winner of a Contender's Match -vs- "The Bone Crusher" Jeff Crowe (Champion) Tag Team Title Contender's Match The Irish-Canadian Connection (Dyron Flynn & Seth Leduc) -vs- Justin Sane & Charles Colton 3-Way Contender's Match "The One & Only" Val Joiner w/ Mike Justice -vs- "The Southern Kentucky Superstar" Randall Shane -vs- Kid Dynamite The winner gets a UCW Ultimate title show later in the evening. The remaining two will battle later in a 2nd chance match! Plus one more action packed match! **Card Subject To Change** ----------------------------------------------- With 2010 here, the 2009 Year End Awards have been decided by you the UCW wrestling fans. We want to thank each and everyone of you that voted. Several categories were neck and neck and one even had a tie. Here are the winners; UCW Wrestler of the Year- "The Bonecrusher" Jeff Crowe UCW Women of the Year- Diane Von Hoffman UCW Tag Team of the Year- Southern Thunder (JD Thunder & Randall Shane) UCW Most Popular- Justin Sane UCW Most Hated- Jon Rock UCW Show of the Year- February 7th in Horse Cave, KY for "12th Annual Caverna Supershow" UCW Match of the Year- Jeff Crowe -vs- Jon Rock from September 4th in Cave City, KY. Jeff wins the UCW title and Jon Rock has to leave UCW! UCW Feud of the Year- Doug Vines -vs- Jack Daniels Finisher of the Year- TIE: Justin Sane for his "Just In Time" Submission hold and Randall Shane for his "Tomakaze" double under-hook inverted face-buster Again we want to thank everyone for voting! ------------------------------------------- On Saturday night February 13th UCW will present one of it's biggest shows of the year. It will be the 13th Annual Caverna Supershow. The event takes place on Saturday February 13th in Horse Cave, KY at The Caverna High School Gym. This is the 13th year for this spectacular event. As always this is a fundraiser for the Caverna Athletic Department. Make your plans now to come out and spend an evening with UCW Wrestling. Last year we packed the gym with Jerry "The King" Lawler.
