FIVE pages and they keep coming.. Send to [email protected]
I have not seen this type of response in a while. But what amazes me is that the fans either loved or hated the shows. No in between. Although some hated them both.
Keep your letters coming ... Georgie [email protected]
Here are some more received today:
I was at the show in Orlando:
My honest opinion I think TNA made huge impact, if it was not for bret hart i think wwe fails last night.
TNA kept you in suspense with big returns and comebacks. and aj styles vs kurt angle match blows away any match WWE has done lately. WWE is very slow paced wrestling. TNA dont do those choke holds through out the matches. there were about 500 people that could not get in and had to watch it at the Hardrock. the impact zone usually does not get sold out. I think TNA definitely lived up to the hype. and I think there are so many people out there that are so much WWE they wont give anything else a chance to like it. I went with 3 friends and honestly it was so loud the whole night my ears are still ringing. We really had great time TNA comes through big.

TNA No Way !
I was disappointed in TNA. It looked like we were watching Monday Night Nitro.
Hogan, Bischoff, and Dixie Carter ( The 3 Stooges) destroyed 7 years of Jeff Jarrett's and the TNA originals blood, sweat & tears and hard work in 1 night.

TNA All the Way
I enjoyed TNA wrestling to the fullest they had the better wrestling I dare Vince to find two men that can put on a clinic like AJ Styles and Angle did I saved Raw on the Tivo till this morning thinking the whole time "Man this stuff is hard to watch" I know where my loyalties lie Hoping to see more and more TNA shows.

Which one is better? I have seen matches and events from the WWF/E of the 1970-90's, WCW,ECW(THE REAL ECW!! NOT VINCE'S),NWA,AWA,WCCW and the UWF that were much better than what I saw last night. I know Hogan is trying. But other than Hall, Waltman and Jeff Hardy(Nice surprise), everyone else was from his recent Hulkamania tour. Even with all of that. TNA gets this round. I am a Bret Hart fan and I was switching between TNA and WWF/E. Bret was the only reason why I even watched raw last night. The rest of raw was forgettable. I guess that I am too old(40 years old) and saw some great pro wrestling since 1980 at the age of 10. I just don't see TNA or the WWF/E of today coming close to the other great wrestling organizations that made pro wrestling great. Still, I give TNA this round for making an effort.

Georgie,
As you know I'm never negative about the business, I think the talented men and women do what is asked of them to the best of their ability. With what I'd written about TNA on Sunday, asking fans to watch on Monday, all I can say is I'm Sorry. I thought it would be a lot different, hopefully, the new fans enjoyed it. Personally, I did not, I thought it insulted the long time fans of the promotion and did a great disservice to the likes of Jeff Jarrett, the entire X Division, Abyss, Samoa Joe and especially Daniels. True there were exciting moments, but those moments had nothing to do with Hulk Hogan. I don't think the problems with the show had anything to do with the REAL TNA talent, and definitely not their matches. So I'll leave it at that.
I would be curious to see what Jim Cornette has to say about this show.

G,
I have been a fan for over a decade but don't really consider myself an
expert in the business like those who have been watching for double
the length I have. I do consider myself to be highly knowledgeable and
completely feel that the TNA show was a complete waste. There was
barely any wrestling until the third hour and even that was mediocre.
The red cage in the beginning was such a stupid match that highlighted
nothing about the X division. The red cage was impossible to see
through and ended in the most stupidest DQ's. Are there even dq's in a
cage match. NOOOOO. Homicide obviously got stuck trying to go out
which was dumb and Jeff Hardy in X-Division?????? I thought the
surprises were interesting including Flair but really all served no
point. The ending was dumb with the extreme zoom in on Hogan.
Now Raw was no better. The only good thing was Hart and Michaels. The
Divas suck really bad. The U.S title contenders are not that good. Iam
glad MVP won though. I actually starting to like Miz character. The
other matches sucked. The segments were stupid and I am beyond fed up
with HHH and Hornswoggle. HHH is not funny at all. Bourne got
destroyed for what reason. It doesn't make Sheamus look good. Where was
Hart Dynasty?? These were suppose to be huge shows for both companies
and to me it was an epic failure.

I think TNA did well with the exception of the squash match w/ richards & raven, short pope-wolfe match & the dq x division. I think they should not re-do the wcw-nWo angle with matching silent sting, they should utilize well all the talent that they have. We want wrestling! Horay to angle, aj & womens tag teams!
For wwe, i was just amazed seeing bret in the same ring again with HBK. Their lines are so real & emotional, scripted or not, I felt it! I also noticed the 4 way match kinda stepped up fr my expectation! I hope competition will make their product better.
I hope ROH lands a better TV deal because that will surely stir up some better performances!
We need this monday night war!
Hope we see more of it!

I wrote a review on Monday Night RAW last night. This was the bottom paragraph to my conclusion of what I thought of RAW. I am writing my review on TNA tonight. I have released it to the different wrestling boards. These are my thoughts...
This to me was just another RAW and Bret Hart just happens to be in it. This was not the answer I was looking for to try and stump on TNA Impact. I saw a better show the night of Smackdown in Orlando.
Vince is so content and satisfied on what he has accomplished that he does not see any competition out there. This could lead to the down fall of the wrestling empire unless it gets some new ideas. All the plots were very predictable and quite the norm for a Monday Night Raw. Nothing special other than Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels finding closure. Sure this would be a very big story in wrestling but why not make this show extra special by providing the matches that would show the wrestling world why they are the top company in the world?
I was disappointed and dejected because I was hoping that maybe… just maybe kayfabe could live once more and provide us with the magic that used to fuel wrestling back in the day. But alas, kayfabe is dead and everyone knew what was going to unfold on this night and nothing really special was born from this moment but business as usual. Hart vs. McMahon will go on at Wrestlemania in some form as expected and Vince will have another big payday. How much longer will this last and what are the effects of mundane shows such as this will show at the box offices of the smaller shows and promotions. Wrestling is a dying breed and hopefully someone will be out there to resuscitate it before it expires forever.
Tomorrow night I will review TNA Impact and give my conclusion to the total state of wrestling.

I liked TNA because it wasn't such a circus like the WWE. I'm afraid now that Hogan has brought many of his undesirable friends with him to TNA, it will be the same. Don't like the way he embarrassed Jeff Jarrett on national TV. Regardless of what he has done personally, he did found the company and should get some respect. I guess I will wait and see how it goes.

I watched both Raw last night live and TNA today recorded from my DVR cable box. I felt that WWE RAW won the battle. Raw 1 TNA 0.
Dixie having Hogan was like I predicted in my first post about what show I will watch. The Hogan thing was no good in my mind. Yes the main event was good and The Pope's upset win over Wolfe was shocking. But I feel the WWE put on the better show.
Bret and Shawn putting the past to rest. Vince's shocking ending to the show. The tag team championship match was pretty good. Hornswoggle beating up Santino dressed as Jericho was far more better then the Nasty Boys are seeing and Terrible drunk looking Scott Hall and Sean Waltman.

TNA sucked last night. Short of the X-Division match it looked liked a rehased version of WCW Nitro, complete with ALL of the idiots that brought that company down.
I did think it was funny that for all the complaining and crying that Ric Flair did the last decade about how he was treated in WCW that he would go to TNA where it appears that Dixie Carter has brought everyone in that ran WCW into the ground.
On the flip side Raw sucked too. It was nice to see Bret's cameo on Raw. To bad he wasn't in more of the show.

Last night was the first time I watched TNA. It wasn't as polished as WWE, but I'm excited to see what they do next. There were a lot of good surprises in how they used the nasty boys, jeff hardy and flair. I liked the Mick Foley angle too, and the matches for the most part were amazing. The TNA talent is much better compared to WWE.
I think the use of Sting, Val Venus and Eric Bischoff was tired though. We've seen this before. Let's not redo the senseless nudity of Venus, the silent Sting or Eric drafting everyone to join NWA. Hogan should be a face and NWO shouldn't be redone.
I haven't been excited about WWE since it was the WWF. TNA wasn't great, but it was good. It's enough to get me watching wrestling again. The best thing for me was watching it with my 7-year old son. I've always wanted to share my love of wrestling with him but WWE has become an train wreck in my opinion. I'm proud to show him TNA. I look forward to great things. He asked me if I would take him to see it live and I smiled. There's nothing like attending a live wrestling event. I remember the thrill of seeing Hulk live when I was a kid and now I'll be doing that again with my son.

Hello, just a few thoughts about Monday nights RAW & TNA Impact. You would have thought the WWE would have brought a little more to the table knowing that TNA was bringing out Hulk and his OLD Buddies to compete against them. TNA thoughts: First time TNA watchers probably got confused over the red cage -X-Division DQ match, which was embarassing to watch. And TNA probably should have built a cage that one could actually climb out of. Jeff Hardy coming out was surprising at first, but then went nowhere fast. And Flair coming out of the limo, surprising at first to, but also went nowhere. And is Hulk a Heel or a Face? After his many promos, even he probably doesnt know. Also Hulk dissing Jarrett like that was kind of hard to watch. Let us all hope that the NWO stays where it already is, in the PAST! Do we really want to see these older, out of shape, stiff & limpin wrestlers bring back the good ol' days? I dont think so.. Kevin Nash had it right in his promo, I guess it really is all about the big paydays ahead, for these guys at least. Big props to Angle & AJ Styles for their match.. hopefully AJ wont get lost in WWE's retirement roster. WWE thoughts: Bret Hart standing in a WWE ring is something most of us never thought we would see again. Seems like the segment with Shawn was a little scripted. But you cant hide expressions. And we all knew something was going to happen at the end with Vince cause Wrestlemania is just around the corner. Vince really is all about Da Money! Besides the Bret Hart segments, WWE didnt change a thing. I cant wait for next week's RAW to see who will get the pin again, Orton or Kofi? It's gonna be a nail-biter! ROB from CALI |
