Mr. Cary Joseph (Colt Steel) Jackson, 53, of Kannapolis, died Sunday, December 20, 2009. | |
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. | |
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, they will be at the home. | |
Born October 9, 1956 in Robeson County, he was the son of the late Lonnie Jackson and Margaret Holmes Jackson. He was a 1976 graduate of Pender Academy and attended Fayetteville State University. A commercial plumber by trade, C.J. was employed as a plumbing supervisor with Piedmont Piping Mechanical Contracting, Inc. in Harrisburg. He was also a worldwide professional wrestler and was a 1985 powerlifting champion by being awarded No. 1 in North Carolina and No. 3 in the Eastern United States. He held many titles with the NWA and Atlantic Coast Wrestling Conference. | |
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Beam Jackson; a son, Cary Joseph Jackson II of the home; two sisters, Ann Hardin of Raeford and Virginia Jackson of Red Springs. | |
