WWE RESULTS FROM BRUSSEL, BELGIUM NOVEMBER 6th
by Koen Verjans
The arena was sold out for months in advance. The crowd were hot for most of the matches, especially all the kids. I guess there were 8,000-10,000 people.
Christian def. William Regal
This was a very fun match. Regal got a lot of heat as he was running from Christian all the time. Christian was one of the most over superstarts tonight. Maybe because he came out first. When Christian pointed at Regal the crowd booed and when Christian raised his own hand the crowd cheered. He did that trick for a few minutes and the crowd loved it. Regal’s facial expressions were hilarious. The match had some hard hitting moves, a lot of near falls and Christian got the pin after a horrible killswitch.
Yatsu defeated. Zack Ryder
Nothing special. Decent, but short.
Mickie James won a Diva’s Battle Royal
The crowd was really behind Mickie James in this match. A fun and entertaining match where the winner would face Michelle McCool later that night. Layla had a really bad landing at ringside during the match.
Cryme Tyme def. Hart Dynasty
Basic tag match. It took forever before JTG could make the hot tag, once he did, they quickly finished the Harts.
Ezequil Jackson defeated Goldust.
Boring match. Crowd were pretty dead.
Fatal Four Way
Rey Mysterio got the second biggest pop of the night. A lot of kids with masks in the arena. John Morrison was laughing all the time in the ring, but I don’t know why. A lot of action and high-flying moves like the 619 (big pop). Morrison got the pin after a Starship Pain which completely missed Dolph Ziggler. This was actually a good match, but nothing amazing.
Drew McIntyre def. Finlay
Drew tried a few French words before the match, but half of the arena spoke Dutch so no-one really cared. Finlay received a good reaction from the crowd, but got pinned when McIntyre used the ropes for leverage. Basic match.
Michelle McCool def. Mickie James.
Crowd was more into the women than into the wrestling. Especially Michelle McCool, wearing an incredibly sexy outfit, was damn hot.
Undertaker def. CM Punk in a Casket Match
After CM Punk called himself the ‘Muscles from Brussels’, the casket was brought to the ring. When the bells rang, the crowd went crazy and Taker made his famous entrance. I think everyone in the arena was standing for the deadman. CM Punk jumped out of the ring a few times in the beginning of the match. But in the end, Taker rolled Punk into the casket after a tombstone piledriver.
Overall it was fun 3-hour show. No Jericho, Batista and Kane were disappointing, but I was glad Taker and Rey were there. There was no match above three-star level as they didn’t take too many risks. However it was nice to see the WWE stars live in action. I also went to the TNA house show in London and this one was totally different. With TNA there was much more interaction with fans and I gotta say the action was faster and better there.
