What do you think? ….
Hi Georgie.
Big fan here :)
I just read A IMPORTANT FANS' LETTER, A MUST READ and it got me thinking about something that crossed my mind more than once (specially regarding his thoughts of wrestlers getting hurt and injured). I thought about posting it in the forums, but thought that maybe this could be better suited for you to make something out of it, since I believe your opinion and perspective is valued and respected by all in the wrestling circles, and maybe you can word my thoughts better than me.
Facts:
- Wrestlers are awesome athletes, artists and actors.
- WWE mixes live wrestling action with drama, storylines and some soap opera for good measure, and it all happens live.
- Since it's live, not all can be done, and wrestlers run risks and get injured.
- Bottomline, we all know it's scripted, yet we still love it and watch it, because we get caught up in the characters and storylines.
- WWE is one of the best in editing, and when they put together those recaps of feuds and storylines before matches or PPVs, the editing is so superb, sometimes (at least me) I enjoy them more than the actual live action.
So... why hasn't WWE (or anybody else) come up with an idea for a TV Series based on the show and wrestlers? Taking advantage of a tv series format, imagine all the incredible storylines, amazing fight scenes, breath taking bumps and stunts (with no wrestlers getting really hurt) they could do? Why wouldn't wrestling fans not het hooked? Why wouldn't mainstream viewers not get hooked? We even have wrestling cartoons nowadays, why not a tv series? It would be like watching "Ready to Rumble" every week, right after Lost or Big Bang Theory. I remember watching the first season of Heroes (when the show was actually good) and thinking how amazing a wrestling show following a similar style would be.
Wrestlers could have a spotlight no matter if they are hurt, injured or getting a little bit around the corner. Stone Cold doesn't wrestle anymore, but he still opens cans of whoop ass in the movies, why couldn't he in a wrestling tv series?
I know you are very passionate about wrestling, would be cool to know your thoughts...
Cheers and the best for you.
Izzy

This could be a good idea, but I think a Reality Show would be in the works before a Series.
I know you said not just another Reality show, but something with scripts, storylines, backstage stuff, fights, feuds and locations.
Just think something like when Kane guest starred on Smallville, that was just the best I ever seen Glen portrayed.
What do you guys think, would it be something you'd enjoy watching?
