ISPW PRESENTS THE WAR TO SETTLE THE SCORE TO BENEFIT MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY ASSOCIATION ON AUGUST 22ND IN FREEHOLD, NJ; 60 MINUTE IRON MAN MATCH SIGNED BETWEEN DANNY INFERNO VS. JUDAS YOUNG, IRON SHEIK GETS INDUCTED INTO ISPW HALL OF FAME, NEW JERSEY DEVIL'S GRANT MARSHALL SIGNED AS SPECIAL GUEST TIMEKEEPER
Independent Superstars of Professional Wrestling presents "The War To Settle The Score" on Saturday evening, August 22nd, 2009 at the ISPW Arena in Freehold, NJ to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The main event for this huge show is the biggest in the history of ISPW. It will pit ISPW Champion vs. ISPW Champion in a 60 Minute Iron Man Match featuring Judas Young and Danny Inferno. The winner of this match will be crowned the Undisputed ISPW World Heavyweight Champion.
Young and Inferno have been in a heated feud over the last year which recently saw Inferno stage his own retirement in an effort to one-up his former best friend. Both performers, who appeared in Mickey Rourke's hit movie, "The Wrestler," are currently in intense training for what they are both looking to showcase as the greatest match in the history of independent wrestling.
Muscular Dystrophy (MD) is a group of more than 30 genetic diseases characterized by progressive weakness and degeneration of the skeletal muscles that control movement. Some forms of MD are seen in infancy or childhood, while others may not appear until middle age or later. The disorders differ in terms of the distribution and extent of muscle weakness (some forms of MD also affect cardiac muscle), age of onset, rate of progression, and pattern of inheritance.
ISPW is honored to be able to help raise money for such an important cause just two weeks before the 44th Annual Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Telethon.
The Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Telethon is must-see TV watching during the Labor Day weekend, an end-of-summer tradition in the U.S. since it first began in New York City in 1954.
Now an entertainment extravaganza airing live from Las Vegas, the show features the much-loved actor and comedian Jerry Lewis hosting the money raising marathon, which helps to combat muscular dystrophy, a crippling disease which currently has no known cure.
2009 marks the 44th Annual Labor Day Telethon - with a bevy of stars and featured performances - lasting more than 21 hours beginning at 9PM ET on Sunday, September 6 and lasting through Monday afternoon on Labor Day, September 7, 2009.
World Wrestling Entertainment Hall of Famer The Iron Sheik will be inducted into the ISPW Hall of Fame on August 22nd at this very special event in Freehold, NJ. Sheik, the former General Manager of ISPW, will join former five-time ISPW World Heavyweight Champion Ace Darling as the second member inducted into ISPW's Hall of Fame. There will only be one man humbled at The War To Settle The Score and that's the former WWF Heavyweight Champion!
Other action packed matches already signed for this event include former WWE Superstar Nunzio finally going one on one with ISPW General Manager "Mr. Personality" Nicholas Nice, a Loser Leaves ISPW Match pitting Danny Doring against Christian York, Julio Dinero (with Miss Michelle) in a heated grudge match against Flash, Rick Fuller taking on Chase Del Monte, Pro Wrestling Noah's Bobby Fish making his ISPW debut against Crowbar, plus The Logan Brothers and Baby Hughie in action!
Local celebrities and personalities are also being contacted as of press time to take part in this very important and worthy cause.
ISPW is also very happy to announce that The New Jersey Devils will be sending Grant Marshall to The War To Settle The Score to help ISPW Bodyslam MD! Marshall will be the special guest timekeeper in the Julio Dinero vs. Flash match.
