Georgie:
Its CM Showstopper of WFigs! I attended LOTR yesterday and had a blast. This was my first LOTR convention and for the most part the talent was awesome. DJKnightRida and I got up at 5am just to make the drive up to LOTR and were pretty tired, but still remained up beat.
Security wasn't too bad and for the most part the event was well organized. Franklin Square Video, who brought Val Venis in, was really cool. Highspots was amazing and had extremely fan friendly priced items. Many action figures of the stars there like Taz and Bischoff on sale for $5. I picked up the WWE Encyclopedia, which is a must have for $30. What a fantastic price! The only complaint I had about the vendors is there seemed to be very SLIM pickings. A lot of people were selling the same things.
Sting was awe inspiring. I dont get nervous for meeting talent....but I have to say I was for Sting. The only other person I felt that way was with Shawn Michaels. Sting was quiet but seemed very honored to be there. He took time with his fans and appreciated all compliments, gifts and handshakes. The only real complaint I had about the Sting portion of the show was how they set it up. Originally, they were calling you in blocks of 25 people, as each person had a ticket numbered 1-200. I had 78, so I figured I had a little time and my friend and I decided to go do other things. About a half hour later, we happened to walk by the Sting line and someone told us they stopped calling by blocks and now everyone just can lineup. Luckily, we did so and disaster avoided. However, it caused the very narrow hallway to become extremely hard to navigate.
Val Venis was awesome as well. Shame, not many folks seemed all that interested in Val. But I sure was. Always been a fan of his. He was selling his own self designed tshirts, which I picked up one. I must have been at least a little nervous though, cuz I got my promo signed and yet forgot to pickup it up off the table and ended up leaving it behind. Hopefully Franklin Square has it and I can try and obtain it from them.
Highlight of the day for me was Kizarny aka Sinn Bodhi. WOW! Talk about a cool cat. While my buddy was in line for Sabu, I had a chance to just hang out in the main room. Kizarny had come in and set up his table. People said hi, but no one seemed to interested. I decided I would go over and talk to him. Knowing how cool Edge and Christian have always been with me, I thought why not test this out. Maybe its just the water in Canada. A half hour later, we had talked about the Kizarny character, how he got started, Edge, Christian, WWE, his debut match and his love for Jake The Snake. We also had chance to discuss his immense artistic talent, as he had his drawings for sale. They were awesome. I ended up picking one up and he was ultra cool. Kizarny did say the agents were cool with him after he was released and tried to give up some pointers on what to do, like staying active. So he definitely plans to do so. I think we will see big things from him or else, in his words.......we'll see him on the 6 o'clock news in a bank heist.
