……

I went to the Mickie James & Cryme Tyme autograph signing today in Warwick, RI at Cox Communications. The signing was scheduled to start at 5 so I left a bit early and got there at 4. That place was already packed with at least 200 people. They were having raffle drawings for free shirts, pens, hats, and tickets to Backlash tomorrow. So I got in line and waited as more and more people showed up. I swear I’ve never seen so many people at a WWE autograph signing. There had to be at least 400-500 or more people there.

Just a little before 5 a huge limo pulled up which Mickie and Cryme Tyme got out of and went into the store. It took a few minutes but they finally started the signing. The line seemed to move really slow as they were only letting 4 people in at a time into the store. About 5:30 the lady from the local radio station who was there got on the microphone and said the wrestlers have to leave by 6:30 (originally scheduled till 7:00) so they would try to get in as many people as possible.

So about 2 and ½ hours later I finally made it up to the front. There was 5 people in front of me with just a few minutes left. The security officer let in a group of 3 and asked if anyone else was there by themselves which I put up my hand. So the nice officer let me cut in front and go inside. Whew! I just happened to make it before they cut off the line. I only saw 2 more people come in behind me so they probably ended it soon after. I feel bad for everyone else who waited there all day long and weren’t able to get any autographs. There was still hundreds waiting in line when 6:30 rolled around.

Anyways I got inside and they were kind of rushing things because it was just about time to leave. I got up to Mickie and she posed so I could take a picture than she signed my WWE Encyclopedia book. She was really nice so I thanked her and moved down to Cryme Tyme. They didn’t really say a single word but both signed my book and I snapped a couple pictures.

Thanks to both WWE & Cox for doing this signing. This is the second one they have done (previously had CM Punk) and I hope they continue to do more.

Also a word of advice if your ever going to a WWE autograph signing get there a few hours early or you might just miss out.
