AFTER HARDCORE REUNION..

By "BigMark" David Lee

Saturday Night in Allentown Pa at the LEHIGH VALLEY WRESTLING Show Hardcore Legends Vs LVW (sactioned under the AWA). Terry Funk, & Scott Hall made an unadvertised appearance during the intermission. They were accompanied by a few indy wrestlers; Christopher Adonis (son of wrestling legend Adrian Adonis), Chris Morrow, and Kenny Look alike Kevin Chesney. Security scrambled as they were mobbed by the hundreds of unsuspecting fans. Once some order was restored, the men were given special ringside seats to enjoy the show.

At one point durring the show the LVW ring announcer made an announcement that The Honky Tonk Man will be at the next LVW event on April 26th. During his announcement he called Honkey "The Greatest Intercontenal Champion of all time".

Christopher Adonis jumped up and yelled at the ring announcer that the greatest IC champion was sitting right here, and Scott Hall stood up.

Scott Hall then asked for a mic and from his seat said that he in fact was the greatest IC champ of all time and that he would embarass Honky in the ring if they ever met. He also said that Honky's reign was a joke. Terry Funk then added that if he had a head like the honkey Tonk man he would have it circumsized.

The ring announcer tried to agree with Mr.Hall, but Scott gave him that "quit trying backtrack" look, gave the DX chop and sat down.

After the show, Terry and Scott hung out for a minute in the parking lot to sign autographs and talk to the fans before taking off.

The BWO, Shane Douglas, Axl Rotten, Justin Credible, and Balls Mahoney were also on the card that had some great matches. They really helped get the local boys over.

In a related note: This event followed the Hardcore Reunion where ALL the above wrestlers were guests at.

MY THOUGHTS ON BOTH THE REUNION AND THE LVW SHOW.

The Convention:

The Wrestling Marx put on a really good convention. I hope they continue to do more conventions in the future.

All of the guests seemed that they were all really happy to be there, and were very willing to talk to the fans. Many of them mingled around to talk to the other wrestlers and fans when they were done signing.

I was not really suprised at Jake Roberts no showing. The vendors that brought him in said that his flight was cancelled, but who really knows what happened.

I was suprised on the amount of respect that Terry Funk really does have. There was not one wrestler there did not come over to shake terry's hand or talk to him. Everyone loves Terry. It was really a great sight to see that no matter how big you ever got in the business there is always a few guys that you look up to.

Bud Carson, the owner of the wrestling store in the Merchants Square mall where the convention was, has one of the greatest wrestling stores I have ever seen. I have never seen a greater collection of Hasbro WWF figures!

I talked to the LVW staff that were selling their merch and the local guys were signing their autographs for free! I collect indy wrestlers promos too, so that was an extra suprise. I also met the son of Barry Hardy and the son of Adrian Adonis there too.

My only real complaint was that some of the staff did not know what was going on. And some of them seemed like they just wanted to "hang out" with the wrestlers. One of them even decided she wanted to hang out with Terry Funk. I asked One of the guys from All about the game, the vendor that brought him in, and he said "She thinks he is one of the superticket guests,  I don't have the heart to tell her she is wrong."

THE FOLLOWING LVW SHOW:

I was really suprised to hear that LVW is commissioned by the AWA. I thought that was pretty cool.

It was great seeing that the ECW guys really helped put the LVW guys over. That just shows you how great these guys really are.

I don't know if Scott Hall shooting on Honky was a work, but wouldn't Scott Hall vs Honky Tonk Man be a great Match? And the ring announcer never did say who The HTM woulod be wrestling at the next show.

This was only their third show from what I was told, and the fans were already behind their local guys. Mogoose got the biggest pop of the night. This guy worked a really good match with Shane Douglas. Shane really heeled it up for this match, and it went over great.

After the show, all the ECW guya and LVW guys talkes with fans and signed autographs. I got a chance to talk to the Kenny Chesney looking guy outside, he said they were all staying at the Comfort Suites and they would be closing down the bar Legends located in the hotel. I stopped in for a few minutes before heading home, and the guys were hanging out and talking with all the patrons and taking pics.

I had a chance to talk with Terry, and he said that he would be at November to Remember without a doubt. Looks like Terry may come out of retirment.....again.

All in all it was a great weekend.
