Wrestlefest returns to Bristol, CT.
By: Chris Sullivan This Saturday, March 28, Northeast Wrestling returns to Bristol, CT for the there biggest event of the year. Wrestlefest has been a cornerstone for Northeast Wrestling for over ten years, and each year the people at N.E.W. top themselves. This year will be no different as some of the wrestling biggest stars will be appearing. Wrestlefest will take place at the Bristol Central High School and it is located at 480 Wolcott Street in Bristol, CT. The event is a special fundraiser for the Bristol Central High School Graduation Party. Tickets start off at $15 and are going fast. You can get tickets at Bristol Central High School Main office and Ken’s Cards and Collectable (202 New Britain Rd, Berlin, CT). Tickets are also sold online at the official Northeast Wrestling website (www.NortheastWrestling.com). The “kiss stealing, wheel and dealing, jet flying, limousine riding, son of a gun” Nature Boy Ric Flair will be styling and profiling at the Bristol Central High School. Ric Flair will be taking apart in a very special meet and greet that will take place at 5:30pm before the event. Ric Flair will also be doing a special in ring interview to talk to the fans. At last week’s Torrington, CT event Ric Flair was seen in a special on scene video. During the video package, Flair stated that he has some unfinished business with Jimmy Hart and plans on meeting him face to face at Wrestlefest. Current member of TNA’s Main Event Mafia and one of the founding members of the New World Order (N.W.O.), Kevin Nash, will be seeing action in Bristol, CT. Kevin Nash as held the WWE Heavyweight Championship, the WWE Intercontinental Championship, and the WWE World Tag Team Championship (with Shawn Michaels) when he competed as Diesel with World Wrestling Entertainment. “Big Sexy” would jump to Ted Turners World Championship Wrestling where he, Scott Hall and Hulk Hogan would form the N.W.O. Nash would hold the WCW World Championship 4 times during his WCW career and hold the WCW Tag Team Championship 8 times with different partners. In the main event, Bristol’s own “Purty” Kurt Adonis will face off with Brian Anthony, who will have “The Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart in his corner. This will be Kurt Adonis last match, as he is retiring after over 10 years of wrestling. Kurt Adonis and Brian Anthony have been friends in the past, but the upcoming star Brian Anthony has been in rage with becoming a star in N.E.W. At last week’s Torrington event, Brian Anthony and Kurt Adonis teamed up against “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan and Bull Dredd. During the match Anthony walked out on Adonis which gave Duggan the chance to hit Kurt Adonis with the Three Point Stance Tackle Running Clothesline. Brian Anthony was asked why he turned on his partner; his reason was because he wanted to retire Kurt Adonis. Let us not forget that wrestling legend, Jimmy Hart will be at ringside with Brian Anthony. With Ric Flair looking for Jimmy Hart, what will this cause during the main event? The Northeast Wrestling Championship will be on the line as current champion Jason Blade puts the title on the line against former WWE Star Romeo Roselli. Since winning the Championship, Jason Blade has faced all challengers. Blade as defended the title against, TNA star Chris Sabin, Jalil Salaam, Michael Sane, and others. Romeo Roselli plans on taking the N.E.W. Championship and teaching the current champion that it is easier to win the title, then it is to retain it. Since Romeo left the WWE, he has wrestled all over the world and has ventured to Hollywood. The “Movie Star” Romeo Roselli has appeared in such movies as; The Wrestler, College Road Trip, and Baby Mama. Local female wrestler Amber looks to get some payback on current TNA Knockout Velvet Sky. Last weekend Amber teamed up with Alexxus Nevaeh against the Beautiful People (Velvet Sky and Angelina Love). The ending of the match saw Amber be double teamed by the Beautiful People, which caused her to loss the match for her team. After last week’s Torrington event, Amber sought out N.E.W president Michael O’Brian and challenged Velvet Sky to a one on one match this Saturday, March 28 at the Bristol Central High School, in Bristol, CT. Former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Paul London returns to Connecticut to face off with International Star “Die Hard Eddie Edwards. London vs. Edwards is being called the sleeper match of the night. With many big matches and huge stars, there is a good chance that Eddie Edwards and Paul London will steal the show. Paul London has held the WWE Cruiserweight Championship and is a three time former WWE Tag Team Champion during his WWE run. London is known to spend more time in the air than on the mat during his matches and he will need to bring his all when he faces Easy-E. Eddie Edwards has been making a name for himself all over New England. Edwards has competed in New England Championship Wrestling, Ringside Entertainment, Top Rope Promotions, and many other top New England federations as he made a name for himself. Eddie is a current mainstay for Ring of Honor and has competed many times for NOAH in Japan. As Paul London looks to rid himself of some ring-rust, Eddie Edwards plans to tell London “See-ya-later” as he uses the former Cruiserweight Champion as a stepping stone to a great career. In other matches former NEW Champion Ron Zombie looks to get revenge on Jalil Salaam for hitting him in the face with a roll of nickels at the Torrington event. Zombie is the New England Hardcore icon; could we see a Bristol Street Fight this Saturday night? In a return match from the Torrington event, Frankie Arion will once again lock-up with “The Platinum Poppa” Rob Eckos. Last weekend Eckos stole a win from Arion by a rollup and holding the tights behind the refs back. All of the announced matches and many more great match ups this Saturday, March 28 at the Bristol Central High School. Wait, Northeast Wrestling is not done yet, there is still more.
