COLIN DELANEY REVEALS THE TIME TONY ATLAS CALLED HIM THE WRONG NAME ON WWE TV, HOW IT HAPPENED ALL THE TIME, WHERE HE'LL BE ALL NEXT WEEKEND, AND MORE
By WorldWrestlingInsanity.com

He's the biggest underdog story of 2009.  Now the man who took a kickin' and kept on tickin' is on ClubWWI.com and you can hear his story first hand.  That's right.  It's time to go Clubbin' with Colin Delaney for a 33 minute shoot that covers his entire career.

The former ECW star is adjusting quite well to life after WWE.  As he prepares for the big King of Trios 2009 tournament next weekend in Philadelphia, Delaney takes time out to chat with James Guttman on ClubWWI.com about a ton of topics including: How WWE Wanted To Change His Name, Why It Never Happened, Assuming He Wouldn't Get Signed To a WWE Contract, Tazz's Influence on His Storyline, Why He Thinks He Was Turned Heel In The Way He Was, Lack of Long Term Planning, The Upcoming Chikara Trios Tournament, TNA Possibilities, The Brain Busters, Tommy Dreamer, Big Daddy V, Shawn Michaels, and More.

James Guttman and Colin Delaney both came up as fans of the WWF.  For Delaney, it had to be a dream come true to meet and work with some of the people he has at such a young age.  As a prior WWE fan, Colin had to be thrilled about working with Tony Atlas.  James brings up the WWE Hall of Famer and Delaney's reaction is much different than JG expected.  Delaney says that Tony made him laugh and shared some stories about how things that Atlas said - some of which weren't meant to be funny.  However, the big one was the Hall of Famer's inability to even address him correctly.

"…and he could not pronounce my name for the life of him.  He would always call me 'Collins.'  Like Phil Collins or Tom Collins.  We did so many pre-tapes so many times because the writers were like, 'No.  His name is COLIN.'  He'd say, 'Col-LYNN?'  Col-IN?'"

Guttman laughs and Delaney explains that he doesn't mean they redid all the takes.  In fact, one particular screw up was played for the world to see…

"The first time he was on ECW, when me and Tommy did the backstage thing with him, I'm pretty sure he called me 'Tom' in the segment.  And I think they just left it on TV…I'm pretty sure he called me Tom the first time.  I have to go back and watch it but if I remember correctly, I'm pretty sure he called me Tom on TV."

Yikes.  Delaney talks about the entire Mark Henry storyline and why he feels he was put on Team Henry when he was.  Although he's no longer a teammate of the world's strongest man on ECW, that doesn't mean you can't still see Colin live.  In fact, Colin gives details on where you can see him for three days in a row…

"Well, I may be gone from WWE, but I'm not gone from wrestling.  Come check me out.  Like I said, (next weekend) Chikara King of Trios Tournament.  March 27th, 28th, and 29th – three nights in Philadelphia.  Three nights to see me. Three nights in a row.  Big Trios tournament.  There's other former WWE guys there like Al Snow will be there.  Glacier, former WCW star will be there.  Guys from Mexico and Japan.  Three nights in a row.  Should be fun.  Come check me out.  Come say hi."
