What is your take on the new Cena shirt?? And more….
I WAS ENJOYING THE SUVIVOR SERIES PPV UNTIL TRIPLE H VS. VLADIMIR KOZLOV. I WAS GLAD JEFF HARDY WAS NOT IN THE MATCH BECAUSE I WAS HOPING KOZLOV WOULD BEAT TRIPLE H & BECOME THE WWE CHAMP, BUT WE KNOW THINGS LIKE THAT ONLY HAPPEN IN AN ARENA FOUND IN "THE TWILIGHT ZONE", CAN'T BLAME A GUY FOR WISHING. ANYWAYS THE CROUD WAS NOT INTO IT CHANTING BORING OR STAYING SILENT OR CHANTING FOR HARDY. DURING THE SHOW THE KEPT SAYING THAT JEFF HARDY WAS FOUND AT 3AM IN THE STARWELL OF HIS HOTEL IN BOSTON AFTER BEING HIT WITH A BLUNT OBJECT, THEN SOME PEOPLE SAW EDGE AT A BOSTON AIRPORT COMING TO THE CONCLUSION THAT EDGE DID IT TO HARDY TO TAKE HIM OUT OF THE WHOLE WWE TITLE PICTURE. THE STORY WAS ENTIRELY MADE UP HARDY WAS NOT ATTACKED BY EDGE IN A HOTEL. HOW STUPID DOES THE CREATIVE TEAM THINK THE FANS ARE TO BELIEF SUCH HORSE S**T !!!!!!! ANYWAYS VICKI GUERRERO COMES OUT HALF WAY DURING KOZLOV VS. TRIPLE H MATCH SCREAMING "HE'S HERE, HE'S HERE !!!!" NO NOT JEFF HARDY, AT LEAST NOT YET, WHO DO WE GET, THE RETURNING EDGE (NICE BEARD, NO WE NEED AN EDGE ACTION FIGURE WITH A BEARD). EDGE GETS INTO IT WITH MOSTLY TRIPLE H WHEN JEFF HARDY RUNS DOWN & JUMPS ON EDGE, HARDY IS THROWN OUT OF THE RING (BIG BANDAGE ON HIS NECK) & EDGE CAPITALIZES & PINS TRIPLE H & WINS THE WWE TITLE. HOW MANY TIMES ARE THEY GOING TO MAKE EDGE STEAL THE TITLE WHEN ANOTHER GUY HAS BEEN WRSTLING & HE SNEAKS IN & CASHES IN LIKE THE MONEY IN THE BANK THING. TO ME EDGE, JEFF HARDY & TRIPLE H ARE ALL OVER-RATED, HARDY WILL NEVER BE CHAMP & VINCE HAS NO FAITH IN HIS OTHER WRESTLERS (OHHHHHH I SAID THAT TABOO WORD, BUT HELL IT STILL SAYS WRESTLING). BEAT UP IN A HOTEL STAIRWELL, WHY NOT HIRE THE CAST OF "NYPD BLUE" HAVE ANDY SIPOWITZ (DENNIS FRANZ) & BOBBY SIMONE (JIMMY SMITS) SHOW UP TO INVESTIGATE.
NEXT IS JOHN CENA, I'M A CENA FAN BUT HATE THE NEW SHIRT WHICH CENA TOOK FOREVER TO TAKE OFF. THEY RE-VAMPED THE ENTIRE OLD "AWA" LOGO TO FIT JOHN CENA'S CHARACTER. WEITH ALL THE THINGS TO CREATE THAT SHOWS NO IMAGINATION, VERNE GAGNE WAS AWA BEFORE CENA & VINCE JR WERE EVEN BORN & YOU DEFACE THE "AWA" LOGO TO PUT SOMEBODY OVER, WE ALL KNOW THE AWA LOGO. WHAT HAS THIS BECOME, A LOT OF THE OLD GUYS DON'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT THE BUSINESS TODAY & THE OTHER GROUP OF OLDER GUYS HAVE PAST ON & MUST BE SPINNING IN THEIR GRAVES.

Hello Georgie:
I thought I might get this off my chest. I didn't order Survivor Series, but watched Raw this evening and something disturbed me so bad I was infuriated. I just like most hardcore wrestling fans, was underwhelmed to see John Cena back. He's not the best wrestler on the planet, but he gets the crowd going, and that's what it's all about. I've never been a Cena fan. Not really interested in becoming one.
I'll skip the rest of my Cena thoughts, because really, it's not the place or time. And honestly, it's not about Cena. It could be any wrestler. Even if it was Flair. What bothers me is his brand new shirt that reads "Hustle Loyalty Respect" in the form of....the old AWA logo. Yes that's rgiht. If you saw tonight's Raw you know doubt saw Cena and the rest of his "Cena Nation" wearing one. The letters AWA are replaced by HLR, which to me is mindboggling. An image of Cena putting his victim in the STFU(Very clever name if your 14 years old) is in place of the legendary image of the two combatants struggling for victory. On the back it reads "U CANT C ME". The is the C is cleverly hidden in the "circle strike through" sign (kinda like the old Ghostbusters logo). Upon first glance it does resemble the AWA logo from afar but upon closer inspection it just appears to be what I thought it was: Disrespect.
Now, I'm not of age to remember the glory days of The Crusher, Dusty Rhodes, Superstar Billy Graham, Crippler Ray Stevens, Verne and so many of the legendary icons of our sport competing for the AWA gold. I am of age to remember their final years with Henning, Hall, The Rockers, Slaughter, and so many ofthers that busted their butts to make it a good company. But, in return, I still respect the AWA for what it's done. If it wasn't for Verne's ballbusting we wouldn't have so many stars in this buisness. Hogan. Iron Sheik. Sgt. Slaughter. Nick Bockwinkle. Oh and this guy we all idolize named Ric Flair was even trained by Mr. Gange and the fabeled promotion. The AWA represented a great time for this buisness, long before Vince Jr. wanted to make a mockery of it. Verne was the original hero. The best at what he did. His matches with Nick Bockwinkle still hold up today as scientific masterpieces of the old days where it WAS sport, not sports entertainment. But, now seeing this t-shirt, perhaps unwarranted, brings out such anger in me to see the history of one of the best promotions ever turned into a merchandise boost for a wrestler whose abilities match that of a pet rock. Sometimes I think to myself, does really care about the history or does he just wish to use it for his plaything. To turn around and insult those who struggled to make a living. To spit on the faces of legends that gave all they had to make sure we get the best matches ever. Well, judging by this shirt, I got my answer. Some will look at this shirt as a "loving tribute". But, not I said the fly. I see it as the WWE's many attempts to insult it's audience and history of the SPORT we all love.
Being a long time wrestling fan, Georgie, I would love to hear your take, as well as my fellow wrestling fans on this rather dis-tasteful shirt. I know opinions are not uniform, but I still would like to hear both sides as I'm sure they exist.
