Hello Doctor Mulligan and transplant team,
Looking forward to seeing all of you tomorrow at the Transplant Reunion. As you can see by my stationary, I have formed a not for profit organization, for the sole purpose of raising awareness for the need to have people sign their donor cards.
This coming December 5 - 12th will be my first annual, national donor awareness week. I will be launching this special week, Friday the 5th, at the Newark, New Jersey, Marriott Hotel ball room, 15 min from New York City.
Many of my friends from the professional wrestling community will be in attendance to lend their support to my effort. I am in the process of rasing funds to off set the expenses of this event and I am asking for tax deductible financial donations, tax ID number above. A donation of any amount makes one an official sponsor of this event. My long time friend and wrestling fan of mine, singer Bruce Springsteen is one of the sponsors and will be giving a free mini solo concert at the Friday night kick off. Other sponsors include the Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger (my friend since 1969 and the Godfather of my daughter) Hulk Hogan, Jesse Ventura, The Rock, Arizona Cardinals, World Wrestling Entreatment, The Dorr Arthritis Institute in Los Angeles,( DR. Dorr, did my first hip replacement in 1986 and is the designer of the first, Robotic Tactile Guidance System, for total hip and knee replacements. The list of sponsors is growing and It would be an honor to add you and the rest of the team and the Mayo Clinic to this wonderful week long event. During this week long awareness effort, I will be appearing on the Oprah Winfrey show, Jay Leno and David Letterman and many other national shows as well. This is my way of giving back to the men and women who helped save my life. Attached to this letter is a photo of a painting of me and my donor, Katie Gillroy, that a famous artist from Italy did for me. His sister, Carmen Greenfield needs a liver transplant and I am her personal friend and advocate.This painting, maybe the first of its kind in the world.

LATEST UPDATE, POSTPONED TILL MARCH 2009...

Valerie has persuaded me that to make this event work and work exceeding well, December 5 and 6 is to soon.
So, I have moved the date to March 13 and 14th, 2009.
This gives me time to breath and organize an event that will be first class. It is simply not fair to try and cram an event of this importance into such a short time frame.
Would you mind redoing the date for me on your site and then forward the info on the net. What has happened, is, so many people want to get on board all of a sudden and become sponsors, it has began to snowball. It would simply be wrong to not let people become part of this event as sponsors and VIP guest, because I ran out of time. Thank you for your understanding and consideration of this matter.
