If I was reviewing the lastest installment of LOTR for the NY TIMES it would go soemthing like this: "BRAVO! BRAVO!...***** 4 STARS!".
With a bigger array of stars since a 1980 episode of The Love Boat, LOTR, now originating out of the more spacious Crowne Plaza of Monroe, NJ, promoters Terrance and James kept improving on their already successful line of shows.
There was new format in place which allowed all Superticket holders to get their photo-ops first, and then come back in number order for autographs. This worked like a charm. A flaw here and there but nothing..NOTHING...to write home (or to you) about.
The main ballroom was PACKED with vendor guests and fans (who knew Tully Blanchard was so popular?).
As always a few notes about the stars in both my opinion and buddy Sean Conway:
Scott Hall: Usual comedian self who told me (as he sat down next to me for lunch) that he has given up drinking.
Glacier: Looks like he could now be employed as a state trooper.
Jake the Snake: Not in a Cleveland state but not exactly ready to hop back into the squared circle either.
Diana Hart Smith: Classy
Wendi Richter: Polite
Killer Bees: Always dressed professionally and courteous to the fans
Bruno Sammartino (aka your guy): The Living Legend living up to his billing
Scotty Riggs: Not looking healthy
Muraco and Fuji: Talked about what shampoo and hair conditioner they use throughout my photo op (TRUE)
Rene Goulet: Couldnt believe the reception from the fans he was getting
SuperStar Billy Graham: For everything he's been through...he looks and acts GREAT
Howard Finkel: A gentleman who stated he wished he could do more announcing but "it's not up to him"
Mean Gene: The Life of the Party
