Afa first started training and assisting with the careers of wrestlers back in the 1970's because there were no accredited schools around, and although he was blessed to have the help and guidance of his late uncle High Chief Peter Maivia, Rocky "Soulman" Johnson, and close friend Ricky Thompson to teach him, wrestlers who were starting their careers were being self taught.

Quote from a student's parent " I was skeptical about allowing my son to train in pro wrestling so I accompanied him to his training session. I was so pleased with the training that my son received at the Wild Samoan Training Center grand opening. The atmosphere was exciting, the gym look great. There were two rings set up so the students had plenty of room to train. The building is very clean and has air conditioning. The class began right on time and Afa the Wild Samoan, Haku, and the trainers were patient and wonderful with the students. I know that my son will receive the best training and he is so excited about his training because being a wrestler is his lifelong dream"

Quote from Afa "The Wild Samoan": "It is an honor and privelage for me at this point in my career to be in the role of a trainer and mentor to so many young dreamers. I was very pleased with the turnout at the grand opening, as so many young prospects came like sponges wanting to absorb my knowledge and experience. I told them to take advantage of my experience and knowledge, and whenever I can help, it is my pleasure to do so. I look forward to many years of helping these youngsters in the baby steps of their dreams and careers, and I'm thrilled to bring my training program to central Florida. I have great people around me including Haku, who will also offer his knowledge and experience to my students, who include Haku's two sons who I believe will follow in their dad and family's wrestling footsteps."

To celebrate the grand opening of the Wild Samoan Training center in Florida, Afa is opening the doors to his successful training program offering open tryouts and discounted tuition.
