United States Wrestling Organization results from Nashville, TN, at the Stadium Inn with a count of 127 in attendance: Lee Cross beat Shawn Hoodrich. New York Gangster & Dyronic beat Bryan Casey & Intern and Psycho Medic & Justin Spade when Dyronic pinned Intern. Tony Falk addressed the USWO Championship situation, saying Mark Anthony has been stripped due to his leaving the promotion, and that there will be a 6-man tournament next Friday to crown a new champion. Aiden Scott beat Super Delirious Black Ninja. USWO Jr. Champion Shane Smalls defeated Cousin Jason X. Andy Douglas beat Tim Renesto (w/Charming Charles) in a first blood match when Charles missed a cane shot on Douglas and hit Renesto, busting him open. Post-match, a masked man ran out and attacked Douglas. He unmasked to reveal Jay Phoenix, who said he was tired of being a cartoon character and was now using his real name Jeremiah Plunkett. Great Championship Wrestling has announced the July 20 debut of “GCW Sunday Night Slam!” on their website. The show will feature a collaboration of various matches from tapings in Phenix City, AL, and Villa Rica, GA. It will serve as a way for out of town fans to follow GCW storylines, and get a taste of what they can see either by attending a live event, or by purchasing one of a DVD. Local fans will have an opportunity to relive their favorite matches. There will be contests, prizes, and special "vault" matches from yesteryear. (Larry Goodman)

NOTES

In a classic case of life imitates art, "Boogie Woogie Boy" Gary Valiant's association with Showtime All-Star Wrestling has been terminated by SAW according to a source within the company. In the television storyline, Valiant and his partner in Dream Team, Arrick Andrews, were fired by SAW after being arrested for assaulting Tennessee Violence Authority. The SAW Board of Directors fired them because having a criminal record was a violation of a clause in their contract. Subsequently, Valiant and Andrews returned under masks as Boogie Nights, but that footage had not yet aired on the television show. According to Valiant, he was contacted by Reno Riggins yesterday and told he was not being fired by SAW. Instead, Riggins asked Valiant to take a couple of months off and suggested a storyline for his return. Valiant declined it, and told Riggins he thought it was best for him to go ahead and part ways with SAW. Valiant said he had a meeting scheduled with Mike Porter and Jeff Daniels to discuss his coming to NWA Main Event, but it was not a done deal at this point. Andrews is still with the company.
