….

Hi Georgie,

I just got back from Booker T's "PWA Christmas Chaos II" show in Pasadena, TX, and wanted to let everyone know what an amazing show it was, with a great RVD vs Booker main event. Anybody who lives in the Houston area owes it to themselves to support this organization. I know that Houston is a huge wrestling town, because whenever WWE rolls in with their shows, crowds often number 15,000-20,000. A good portion of those same fans need to get out and support PWA.

It seems these days that indie wrestling gets a bad name because now any joker can rent a bingo hall, put a few backyard wrestlers and skinny kids in jeans into a makeshift ring, have them smash each other with tables and chairs and call it "wrestling". Then you throw in all the horror stories of no-shows, card changes, late starting times and lying promoters. For some people, this is what comes to mind when they thing of wrestling independent shows. And that's a crying shame.

Booker's wrestlers are PROFESSIONALS in every sense of the word. They look like wrestlers (with great physiques and costumes), they have great personalities and charismatic characters, and most of all - they are all fantastic technical wrestlers who can tell a story in the ring. I wouldn't be surprised to see Brett Idol, Neico, Samson, Jaykus and Franco Valentino on WWE TV in a few years time. And the $16 I paid for my ticket was well worth the $50 I've paid for recent WWE events just to see crap like Hornswoggle and diva matches.

Booker and Sharmelle run an extremely professional and well organized show. Everything from a great entrance way (with pyro, smoke, lights and music) to in ring promos, giveaways, there was even a live rock band during intermission. There was also a chance to get autographs and photos taken with Book and RVD after the show.

I couldn't believe how down to earth, hard working and passionate both Booker and Sharmelle were. She was running around doing everything from collecting merchandise money, to hosting on the mic, to arranging the after-show autograph sessions and talking to people in line. Booker was also wandering around talking to fans and BSing about everyday life. Hard to believe that this easy going guy was recently top of the WWE mountain as a champion and main eventer. It's a testament to their personalities that they are so approachable.

Also a special mention to RVD, who stayed way past 1am to make sure every single person in line got an autograph and photo with him. He didn't compromise anyone by limiting how many items they could have signed, or hurrying people along. He looked tired but was great to everyone he met. I remember recently Georgie when you asked people to write in with their experiences of meeting wrestlers, and Rob was one of the few who didn't have anything bad said about him. And he did it again tonight - polite, funny and friendly all the way.

I've added my pics with the guys. Please Texas fans - come out and support PWA. Their next show is January 18 and you won't regret it.

Thanks for all your hard work on the site Georgie, and Happy New Year!!

Daniel
