……

Dear Georgie,

Here’s a quick report from the Kane signing at a local K-Mart, from 6-8pm…there is an ECW/WWE house show in Florence, SC (about 100 miles away) tomorrow, so I guess this is the reason for the signing-although there was NO local advertising or mention of it from any media outlet here….nothing-zero.   I only knew about it because of the tremendous job that you do in keeping us updated on the RSC site.

Despite the lack of any ads, when I arrived at 5:45, there were probably 75 already people in line; the signing began precisely on time.  The line moved quickly, the guys w/Kane (from the WWE) at first seemed to try to be a little tough-but loosen-up quickly when they realize everyone was very cool & easy-going.  There were no restrictions, nothing to buy-they even provided an 8 x 10 WWE stationery page to be signed if you didn’t buy or bring something.  There were a lot of children in line-I watched for a few minutes, took a few pictures & then got in line and waited my turn.  The line moved fairly quickly.  Most everyone got more than one thing signed, infact I saw one guy-who got at least 5-6 figures signed.  Many had cameras, everyone was allowed to take photos once they got to the front-most also got a photo with Kane.

Kane was very personable, said hello, made eye contact and thanked everyone he signed for.  He also had in eye-contact in right eye, which gave him the “Kane” look, but he was dressed in street clothes.  Having attended several conventions and paid for signatures in the past, I was very impressed with everything about this signing: there were a couple of tv’s showing wrestling matches for the folks in line, the K-Mart staff & WWE folks were very nice and accommodating & Kane himself couldn’t have been nicer…..and I didn’t spend a dime!

Kane signed my Ringside Collectible Internet Exclusive KANE figure (see photo below) and the guy sitting at the desk with him (wearing a WWE staff shirt) remarked he had never seen one-Kane simply shook his head that he really like it after the other talked about how great of a figure it was.  Someone asked him if he would ever go back to wearing the mask, he smiled and said, “ I don’t know,” implying-he would if he were told too.

Overall-a very enjoyable time, there were approximately 150 or so who showed up….I went through the line in about 30 minutes, after taking photos first and then getting in the back of it.  A much better signing than some I have paid money to participate in.
