……

Georgie,

Today I went to the Pro wrestling Hall of Fame in Downtown Amsterdam, NY.  I went there to meet the Legendary Harley Race.  When I got there, I was in awe of what they have there.  They have ring worn outfits donated by the wrestlers, posters from all over the world, a room which has old magazines and videos you can watch.

Harley Race was appearing from 2:30pm to 4:30 PM.  When Race got there he was accompanied by a few special guests.  He was with Joe Higuchi, Dick "The Destroyer" Beyer
, and the Destroyer's Brother In Law (Billy Red Lyons).  There was about 150 people there which was amazing experience.  Not only did you get a chance to meet Race but you got to hear a few stories from his guests.
It turned out to be Tony Vellano's birthday, so he was presented with a cake and everyone sang "Happy Birthday" The Destroyer made a touching speech on how that there is a baseball hall of fame, football hall of fame and a basketball hall of fame. But for a long time, there was no wrestling hall of fame till Tony Vellano started his own. (Tony said, it is the people's Hall of Fame)
It was well worth the 400 mile round trip for me to check out this wonderful establishment.  If you are a true wrestling fan, then this place is a must see for you.  The hall of fame is only open on Saturday 10:00am-4:00pm and Sunday
Noon-4:00pm There is no charge for going into the hall of fame, however they accept donations from the fans to keep the place running.

You can check them out on the web at
www.pwhf.org
They are located at  30 East Main Street,  Amsterdam NY 12010   Phone number is 518-842-0022

Their next event is scheduled for May 23rd and 24th.
