Evan Myers' Personal Statement On His Current Condition

Dear Wrestling Community,

Considering I have been receiving numerous emails, texts and phone calls concerning the matter, I figured it would be best if I would give an update on my injury status thus far as well as my future plans. Hopefully this will shed some light as to what has been going on for all of you.
Rehab has been going well and I’m getting stronger every day. I went back to the gym for the first time yesterday and I must say it was a cold hard slap in the face when I could barely move a ten lb weight with my left arm. Discouraging? Yes. But I am determined to forge ahead and I will not let this get the best of me. Since my progress has been moving a little slower than expected, I am regrettably announcing that I will be canceling all of my August bookings as well. I apologize to all of the promoters and the fans for this but I want to come back 100% and coming back too soon will only be risking further and possibly permanent injury to my neck. I want to be able to wrestle for as long as I possibly can and with a neck injury at 23 years old, I think I need to put my stubbornness aside (quite frankly I'd jump back in the ring tomorrow if I could) and worry about my health.
Because of insurance purposes (and some rules and regulations in other states) I cannot wrestle until I have been medically cleared by my doctors. Regardless, I wish to announce that I am aiming for a September, 2007 comeback. I would like to again thank everyone who has and continued to send me well wishes. They are greatly appreciated. I would also like to thank BODYSLAM Wrestling Organization owner Glenn Ulrich and BWO President Richie Rotten for helping me through this every step of the way. I could not ask for more support than they have been giving me.
In other news, BWO sister promotion, Liberty Wrestling Organization has announce that they will be doing some sort of tribute show for me next Friday, August 3rd. I was a little bit agitated when I initially heard about this;not because I am being ungrateful, but considering tribute shows are usually for those who have either passed on or are no longer able to wrestle. But LWO President Thomas Lee Johnson  assured me that it was just his way of showing his gratitude so I guess I’m all for that. Also BWO Southern State debuts in Hightstown, NJ on August 17th and BWO returns to the Pioneer Club in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ on August 18th. If I am unable to attend those shows, I would just like to wish everyone good luck and I know that they will be successful. BODYSLAM Wrestling is slowly growing into something very big and I am very grateful to be a part of it.  More information on those shows as well as other BWO/LWO shows can been found over at BODYSLAMWrestling.com.
In closing, I would like to thank the great fans of this crazy thing we call professional wrestling. Without you, there would be no us and there would certainly be no “Lone Wolf” Evan Myers.  Thank you all for your continuing support and rest assured that I WILL be back from this, bigger, stronger and better than before.

             “Live…Dream…Achieve.”
