I'm happy to announce that former wrestling great George Scott will be returning to this year's NWA Wrestling Legends Fanfest, Friday-Sunday, August 10-12 in Charlotte, North Carolina.Mr. Scott previously attended our first fanfest on Super Bowl weekend 2004.
He and brother Sandy were integral parts of the early-day Jim Crockett Promotions, when the Carolinas territory was dominated by tag team wrestling.
After retiring in 1973, George Scott became one of the best matchmakers in the business. He worked with Jim Crockett's booker for almost 10 years and was responsible for bringing in Johnny Valentine and Wahoo McDaniel to help steer the territory away from it's tag team dominance.
Ric Flair, Ricky Steamboat, Tony Atlas and many, many more credit George Scott for their first big break in wrestling.
I am extremely happy that George Scott will be with us again this year.
A true legend.
