Donavan Faces Torres for IWF Title at Thanksgiving Thunder Weekend:
Fans to Vote in Commissioner's Office Election in West Paterson
(WEST PATERSON, NJ)- With the holiday season approaching, the Independent Wrestling Federation has a gift in store for its IWF Army of fans with three can't miss live events as part of Thanksgiving Thunder Weekend on Friday, November 17, 8:00 pm; Saturday, November 18, 7:30 pm; and Sunday, November 19, 3:30 pm. Here is a preview of the extravaganzas that take place at IWF Centre, West Paterson, NJ.
Day one on November 17 features a spectacular Double Main Event as IWF Heavyweight Champion Shawn Donavan defends against Latin Revolution member Tony Torres with Eloy Fiesta. Torres, a former two-time IWF Tag Team Champion, became the number one contender after he impressively won a Battle Royal on the November edition of the IWF Eruption Webcast. Can Torres capture his first singles championship and end Donavan's three-month reign?
The second Main Event is a Return Grudge Match as Kevin Knight faces the man who recently took his place in the Ross Family, Franciz with Commissioner Rich Ross. Last month at Evil Intentions, Franciz dominated much of the action against Knight until Kevin struck Franciz in the head with a chair. Coincidentally, the Election for the IWF Commissioner's Office takes place at this event as fans and wrestlers vote as Knight challenges the incumbent Ross.
The IWF American Title is up for grabs as Chris Steeler challenges champion Travis Blake of The Ross Family. Last month at Evil Intentions, Ross got Blake intentionally disqualified after Chris was on the verge of taking the gold. Nevertheless, Steeler maintained his number one contender status with a victory over Steve Off on the November edition of the IWF Eruption Webcast, and looks to finally settle the score and halt Blake's three-month reign.
In an IWF Tag Team Title Match, champions Burnin' Mike Durnin and Steve Camacho with Jana defend against Ross Family members Outlaw Shane O'Brien and Aaron Stride. Last month at Evil Intentions, sore losers SOB and Stride attacked the champions in a vicious post match assault. Nonetheless, O'Brien and Stride looked impressive in action on the November edition of the IWF Eruption Webcast as they look to bring tag team gold back to the Family.
BoneCrusher Fred Sampson returns to the IWF after being unceremoniously banned for 60 days after losing a Chain Match to Franciz at September's Fall Brawl. The BoneCrusher has his sights set on Tommy Trouble, whose interference in that bout was instrumental in Sampson's banishment.
In an IWF Junior Heavyweight Title Match, two-time champion Nick Sabre meets Antonio Rivera of Latin Revolution. Rivera defeated Jana to become the top contender on the November edition of the IWF Eruption Webcast. Sabre regained the title from Trouble last month at Evil Intentions and now meets Rivera for the first time as Eloy Fiesta looks to manage both his men to singles championships.
In singles action, Justin Corino squares off against Dangerous Dan McGuire in what is sure to be an athletic wrestling affair; while rookie Rey Calitri tangles with Frank Scoleri. Also appearing is ring announcer Tomm Bauer and referee Barry Delaney.
Day two on November 18 features a Double Main Event as the current IWF Heavyweight Champion, either Shawn Donavan or Tony Torres, defends against Ross Family member Franciz with Rich Ross. Ross has guaranteed the 340-pound mastodon a title match and he faces whoever the champion is on this evening.
The second Main Event is a Grudge Match between Kevin Knight and former Ross Family partner Travis Blake. Knight and Blake exchanged harsh words during commentary on the November edition of the IWF Eruption Webcast, and the time for talking is over. If Blake is still the American Champion, this bout will be for the gold.
Chris Steeler, who may be the next American Champion if he can dethrone Blake the previous evening, faces either Shawn Donavan or Tony Torres with Eloy Fiesta.
Tag Team duos divide up for singles action as Mike Durnin wrestles Aaron Stride of The Ross Family, while Steve Camacho battles Shane O'Brien. However, which duo will have the tag team titles around their waist on this evening?
In a Triple Threat Elimination Match for the IWF Junior Heavyweight Title, Nick Sabre, Dan McGuire and Antonio Rivera of Latin Revolution collide. Either Sabre or Rivera will be the champion entering this confrontation, while McGuire is a former three-time champion looking to regain the belt.
In tag team competition, Justin Corino and rookie Dan Marques untie to face Tommy Trouble and Frank Scoleri. Corino has had issues lately with both Trouble and Scoleri, and has now enlisted the big rookie to be his partner.
Also appearing are BoneCrusher Fred Sampson, ring announcer Tomm Bauer and referee Barry Delaney.
Day three of Thanksgiving Thunder Weekend on Sunday, November 19 is highlighted by a Tag Team Grudge Match as Shawn Donavan and BoneCrusher Fred Sampson battle Travis Blake and Franciz of The Ross Family in what is sure to be a war.
In addition, on November 19, Kevin Knight and Rich Ross host the IWF Eruption Webcast. Just who will be the IWF Commissioner on this day? Also set to appear are Shawn Donavan, Fred Sampson, Travis Blake, Shane O'Brien, Aaron Stride, Franciz, Tony Torres, Antonio Rivera, Eloy Fiesta, Nick Sabre, Chris Steeler, Mike Durnin, Steve Camacho, Dan McGuire, Justin Corino, Tommy Trouble Frank Scoleri, Steve Off, Tomm Bauer and Camp IWF Wrestling School stars!
