 11/4 Fright Night Report..

By: Larry Goodman

Fright Night ’06 might have been the dawning of new era for NWA Anarchy. For the first time in the company’s history, they attempted to run a larger venue outside of Cornelia with stunningly positive results.

Over 400 people filled the Return to Nowhere Theater in Helen, Georgia. It was the largest crowd in Anarchy history, and larger than all but one crowd ever drawn by NWA Wildside.

A fan remarked that “it doesn’t look like an indie show.” You got that right. This was a first class venue for a wrestling show. The lighting, sound, and ring entrances were all quantum leaps from anything Anarchy has done or ever could do at the NWA Arena, and it gave the product a big league flavor that has always been lacking in the homey “Church of Southern Rasslin’.”

I would rank Fright Night a notch below Hostile Environment ‘06, which remains as Anarchy’s best show to date. Tons of action. The crowd was hot. Most things worked, among them, a surprise appearance by homegrown star, A. J. Styles. A few things didn’t, and one could argue that some things should have been done differently given the sizable number of fans that were new to the product. On balance, they definitely made some new fans, which seems to be an almost insurmountable task for any indie promotion in 2006.

“Anarchy Angel” Mary came out to her very own entrance video, and she looked ##### hot for the occasion. No two ways about it, that body that was made to wear tight clothing.

The show opened with a fine country-style rendition of the National Anthem by Gerald Johnson.

Ring announcer Ernie Rich introduced the man of the people, Jerry Palmer, the owner of NWA Anarchy. Palmer got a huge pop. Palmer surveyed the crowd and said he didn’t like to hear the word can’t, as in “you can’t revive NWA Anarchy.”

Palmer thanked Michael Stanley, the owner of the venue and said Anarchy would like to come back to Helen for Season’s Beatings on 12/30 with A J. Styles headlining the card. Palmer told the story of how he came to employ Styles when A. J. was trying to make it in pro wrestling. Palmer agreed to work around Styles’ wrestling schedule and told Styles to go be the best wrestler he could be.

(1) Hayden Young & Austin Creed beat Jeremy V & Jason Blackman in 10:10. Not sure what he’s done to deserve it, other than his generally nerdy appearance, but the fans boo ref Jacob Ashworth every time he comes out. Big reactions to introductions of both teams. One thing about Blackman is that he looked like a pro wrestler from go, and he gets more badass with each passing day. Creed fought his way out of the heel corner to make a tag, and Young hit a crazy tornillo elbow for a near fall. The babyfaces used double teams to clear the ring. Young then did a springboard shooting star press to the floor that had suicide written all over it. Young survived unscathed, but V got his knees up on Young’s frogsplash. Bigtime heat on Young here. Blackman used a tilt-a-whirl facebuster for a near fall. The heels pulled the no-tag switch. Young was bleeding from the mouth. I took hardway blood in the first match as a positive omen. The crowd reacted to the sick thud as V’s stiff lariat made contact with Young’s chest. Both down on a collision to set up the hot tag. Creed put both heels on the deck with somersault lariats. The face team mounted the ropes for the 10 punches in stereo, but Blackman crotched Creed. V & Blackman hit the top rope Hart Attack on Young but Creed saved. Blackman took a great face bump into the rail. Creed did his splits haymaker on V and Young hit the frogsplash for the pin. Outstanding opener. All the key spots clicked and the crowd was totally into it.

(2) Ace Rockwell beat Brandon Phoenix (with Brodie Ray Chase) to win the NWA Anarchy Television Title in 12:17. Rockwell’s entrance got the babyface supreme entrance pop for the evening. The guy instinctively knows how to connect with these fans. Rockwell has the ability to use mannerisms and facial expressions to communicate burning desire like few wrestlers on today’s indie scene, and he never forgets that the babyface should be smarter than the heel. Rockwell decked Chase before the match got underway. When Phoenix tried to cheat on the break, Rockwell blitzed him with a flurry of offense. Rockwell went out and tagged BRC with a series of punches. Phoenix tried to sneak up on him, but Rockwell cut him off. Chase then leveled Rockwell with kick to the face. Phoenix was able to maintain control due to the massive and highly entertaining interference by Chase. The man has impeccable timing. Rockwell kicked out after taking an exploder suplex and made the big comeback. Rockwell went to the top, but BRC dumped him to the floor. Rockwell crawled around to the opposite side of the ring and surprised BRC with a flying bodypress. Phoenix hit a facebuster for a near fall. Phoenix put on the brakes to avoid a collision with BRC, but Rockwell dropkicked Phoenix into Chase. Rockwell got a reverse roll up for a false finish. But Phoenix kicked out and the momentum sent Rockwell into Chase’s right fist. Phoenix hit an STO for a great false finish. Phoenix climbed to the top rope. Rockwell climbed up to cut him off. Phoenix started firing punches and Rockwell was barely hanging on. Rockwell suddenly brought Phoenix off the top with the Aces High to score the pinfall. The crowd went nuts, as the Rockwell love kicked into an even higher gear. A lengthy and emotional celebration ensued. I really enjoyed this match. Great heat, the stuff between Rockwell and Chase was loads of fun, and fans were buying the false finishes bigtime.

(3) Adam Roberts pinned T. C. Carnage in a county whipping match at 11:23. Roberts tried to run and took some strap shots from the fan lumberjacks, one of whom was a kid in facepaint wearing an “I whipped Adam Roberts” t-shirt. Carnage got dumped. Babyface or not, two of the lumberjacks attacked, but Carnage wouldn’t sell the whipping. Back inside, Roberts took over and the crowd got behind Carnage. Carnage came back with a wobbly springboard lariat that left both men on the canvas. Carnage blocked Roberts’ finisher and hit a bridging fallaway slam for a two count. Roberts bailed. The fans started whipping him. Roberts tried to run away but a contingent of babyfaces met him on the stage to block his exit. Blackman came out to give Roberts some encouragement in the form of brass knucks. While Blackman distracted Speedy Nelson, Roberts clocked Carnage with the knucks for the 1-2-3. The crowd was into the whipping aspect. OK but far from the best match these two are capable of having.

In one of the more memorable moments of the evening, a kid lumberjack ran up the aisle and started whipping Blackman’s chest to death. But Blackman just stared at him and took it until the kid ran out of steam.

(4) Seth Delay beat Patrick Bentley & Adrian Hawkins in a triple threat match in 5:52. This match was thrown together at the last minute due to cancellations by Onyx and Texas Hitmen (see NOTES below), and being that it was an all babyface affair, there was little heat. The partnership between Delay and Bentley came into play, as they worked on Hawkins. Bentley dropped Hawkins on his head with the wheelbarrow powerbomb. Hawkins threw himself over the top rope after taking a double dropkick. Attorney Jeff G. Bailey distracted Bentley and Delay pinned his partner with a roll up. Presumably not a heel turn by Delay, as much as a way to further the Onyx/Bentley storyline.

(5) Urban Assault Squad (Nemesis & Shadow Jackson) beat Devil’s Rejects (Tank & Shaun Tempers with Dominous) in a Tornado Tag Team Tables Match at 9:45. It took was best of five tables but that announcement got lost in the shuffle, and the crowd seemed confused on the rules, which clearly hurt the heat. Tank and Nemesis did all kinds of hideous violence to each other in this match. Tank did a cannonball through a propped up table when Nemesis moved, but ref Harold James was otherwise occupied. Dominous gave Nemesis a chokeslam, and Tank buried his carcass in the wreckage of the table. James saw that and scored table number one for Rejects. Nemesis busted a section of the table over Tank’s head and poked the jagged edge into his forehead. Tank bled heavily. Tempers tried to suplex Jackson through a table, but it didn’t break. Tempers improvised with a spear and it was 2-0 in favor of Rejects. I think a lot of folks assumed that the match would be over when both team members went through tables. Tank stomped a section of table on the head of Nemesis. Tank then got him with the Go 2 Sleep knee. Nemesis slapped and punched the ### out of Tank’s face. UAS laid Tank out on ringside table, and Nemesis did a top rope double stomp to put him through. Fortunately, for Tank’s sake anyway, the double stomp was pretty much all table and no Tank. The finish saw Jackson chokeslam Tempers off the apron through a pair of tables to win the match. The table spots worked. The finish was a cool idea that didn’t get the pop it should have because fans didn’t understand the rules.

(6) Jeff Lewis (with Jeff G. Bailey) beat Slim J via submission to retain the NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Title in 17:31. Match didn’t have much story coming in to the show, but it told a good story in the ring. They did the first and only matwork of the night, and if that isn’t a sign of how times have changed, I don’t know what is. Lewis bailed. Fans chanted “Slim.” They locked up to where the ref couldn’t separate them. Lewis cowered. J went on the attack. J was ruthless aggression personified here. Lewis took over. J tried for headscissors and Lewis countered with a brutal powerbomb for a near fall. J made the comeback after a top rope superplex. J got a long two count with a flying reverse DDT. J did a corkscrew dive that split Lewis and Bailey. That landing was no f###### picnic. J went for the flying reverse DDT, but this time, Lewis was ready for it. Lewis hit the Final Curtain but J got a foot over the ropes just before the three. Lewis tried for the Final Curtain again. Ref Brent Wiley got bumped, lacerating his cheek in the process. J applied the STF. Lewis tapped but no ref. Bailey snuck in the ring with belt. J saw him coming. Bailey dropped the belt and ran. J chased him. Bailey suckered J back into the ring where Lewis cold-cocked J with the belt. Lewis applied the STF. Wiley came around and started checking J’s arm. It dropped 3 times. Wiley called for the bell. The ref core came out to check on J, who was still unconscious. A dramatic and delightfully despicable finish.

“Technical Perfection” Chad Parham entered the ring for his scheduled confrontation with the bookerman, “The Technician” Todd Sexton. Parham ordered Rich to get out of his ring, and told Sexton to get his ass out there. Sexton obliged. Parham was pissed that he had to ask for interview time instead of stealing the show. Parham claimed to be the greatest wrestler and greatest champion in Anarchy. Parham said that Sexton even admitted (on Wrestling Informer Weekly) that Parham’s heavyweight title run was his greatest achievement in management. Parham told Sexton to get to stepping because he was no longer a wrestler. Parham was getting “you suck” heat. As Sexton started to leave, Parham upped the ante. He said Sexton’s son would have to live with knowing that his father lost his testicles. Sexton blasted Parham. Parham clipped Sexton’s knee like a slimy back jumper, and laid him out with a jumping piledriver. The refs ran out but Parham scared them away. Parham put a chair around Sexton’s limp neck and did a sick top rope double stomp onto the chair. Security jumped in to get Parham out of there. They hauled Sexton to the back. It was one hot angle.

(7) Team Anarchy (Abyss & Jerry Palmer & Jason Justice & Mikki Free) beat Devil’s Rejects (Iceberg & Azrael & Dominous & Dan Wilson) in a casket match at 18:53. This feud was already at a full boil at the War Games in July when Palmer was unable to get his revenge on Wilson, and was stretchered out in a neck brace. Against his better judgement, Palmer allowed Wilson to tempt him into the going to the natural all Hallows Eve extreme of a casket match. But Palmer had Abyss up his sleeve. Rejects carried out the casket and positioned it near the stage. Wilson was wrestling barefoot. This match was a mixed blessing. Justice Served tried to ride in on motorcycles but the aisle was too narrow and they got stuck trying to turn the corner, so it looked like the babyfaces had a brain fart right at the start. Palmer’s pop was predictably huge. The strong recognition factor in the pop for Abyss was impressive. Rejects ran out of the ring with the chant of “Anarchy” ringing in their ears. Early on, Justice used Free’s back as a launching pad for a corner splash on Iceberg. Berg looked woozy, but he was playing possum and spinebustered Justice. Wilson got in. But when Justice tagged Palmer in, the lilly-livered little puke ran for his life. Palmer speared Azrael in the corner. Azrael came back with the face crusher running knee. But Palmer rolled away from Azrael’s frogsplash and launched the comeback. Palmer tagged Abyss in for first time. Abyss hit the rack drop on Azrael. It broke down to 8 way action. Iceberg and Palmer ended up in the ring. Iceberg flattened Palmer like a pancake with the Ground Zero splash. Bill Behrens ran out with security. Palmer was carried to the back. The house was rocking with four on three mayhem when one of the all-time great buzzkillers occurred. Some authority figure interrupted the match to announce that a minivan was blocking a fire hydrant. Suspension of disbelief went right out the window. A round robin of big moves ended with the two monsters squaring off. It wasn’t pretty. Justice and Abyss did back-to-back Black Hole Slams on Iceberg and Dominous. Poor Abyss. Dominous is massive and he was like dead weight. Abyss and Dominous battled to the back. Wilson gave Iceberg his beloved veggie peeler. The carving was about to begin on Justice’s forehead, when Palmer ran down and jumped off the top rope Iceberg. Wilson used the staff of Righteousness on Palmer. Wilson went for the veggie peeler. Palmer blocked it and stabbed Wilson in the head. Palmer stabbed him again. The blood was flowing. Tempers hit the ring on Palmer. Out came A. J. Styles to a homecoming pop. Styles made the save. Styles then gave Tempers the Clash, while Palmer hit a powerslam on Wilson. Palmer deposited Wilson in the casket to win the match. Abyss and Styles had a staredown in the aisle.

Styles got on the mic. He put the fans over. Styles talked about the progression of wrestling in Cornelia, from NCW to NWA Wildside to NWA Anarchy. Styles said he was pleased to see Palmer taking care of the franchise. Palmer ended the show by destroying Wilson’s Staff of Righteousness.

NOTES: Palmer will address the situation between Parham and Sexton at the next TV taping in Cornelia (11/18)…Tank was mistakenly advertised by IWA Mid-South for last night’s tag team Death Match Tournament in Midlothian, Il…Onyx was in Helen for the show, but his wife broke her ankle playing in the ring earlier in the day. It was a severe enough break that she will require surgery…Rudy Boy Gonzalez canceled the Texas Hitmen (Skitzo and Big Dogg) because they were needed in Texas…Anarchy didn’t learn of Styles’ availability until the day before the show…Salvatore Rinauro was in the house…Bailey and Sexton were this week’s guests on Wrestling Informer Weekly. Bailey’s interview was hilarious.

NWA Main Event Results

Smyrna, TN 11/03/06
Smyrna National Guard Armory

Match 1

Spyder Jay Jacobs & "The Internet Terrorist" Jason
James

vs.

The Patriot & 2-Bit

Jason James was mad because he could not get the fans
to cheer for him. It was very easy for 2-Bit and The
Patriot to have the fans on their side. The Patriot
was trying to break Spyder’s arm off. James and Spyder
were double teaming 2-Bit. The Patriot broke up many
of the ref’s counts. 2-Bit made the tag and The
Patriot was taking on both opponents. 2-Bit was able
to come back and help. The Patriot gave James 10 huge
fist to the head, and then Jason James threw him out
of the ring to Spyder. James was able to get the pin
fall on 2-Bit in 9:12 after a neck breaker while
Spyder kept The Patriot outside the ring.

Match 2
D’Angelo vs. Alan Cabrera

D’Angelo was upset at the announcer for stating he
joined The Hair Club for Men. He used his anger
against Alan Cabrera. Cabrera was at a disadvantage
since he was smaller and D’Angelo has more ring
experience and was very frustrated before the match
began. D’Angelo took control of the match and never
let Cabrera get the upper hand. Your winner in 4:19
was D’Angelo.

Match 3
White Trash & "Impact Inc." GQ w/Xstacy vs. Jammer &
Johnny Gunnz

GQ gave Johnny Gunnz several chops. White Trash and GQ
double teamed Gunnz and would not let him tag in
Jammer. They made quick tags to keep the fresh man in.
Xstacy even helped them out by kicking Gunnz when he
was thrown out of the ring. White Trash lifted Gunnz
on his shoulders and GQ flew off the top rope with a
clothesline. Gunnz was knocked out and Trash was able
to get the 1-2-3 in 7:23.

Match 4
The Phantom vs. 2-Bit

2-Bit came out strong and ready to fight. The Phantom
tried to fight back but was not on top of his game for
this match. 2-Bit never let his guard down so The
Phantom could over take the match. He picked up The
Phantom and executed an airplane spin body slam. 2-Bit
scored the victory in 4:58.

Match 5
#1 Contender’s match for the Mid-America Heavyweight
Title

"Outlaw" Lee Condry w/ Shady Grady
vs.
"The Syndicate Crew" Psycho Medic w/ LA Player

Each time that Psycho Medic could cheat, he did. He
sent the referee over to LA Player so he could low
blow Condry. Medic himself had the ref’s attention so
that LA Player could choke the "Outlaw". Medic
followed up with a devastating DDT. Condry was able to
just get his shoulder up before the three count.
Psycho Medic complained about a slow count. The ref
denied the accusation. Condry was able to get a burst
of energy but they clothesline each other and both
needed to regroup. Condry was able to get control in
the match when Medic missed a splash in the corner. He
landed the Scorpion Death Drop on Psycho Medic and won
via pin fall in 7:20. LA Player complained of a fast
count. Psycho Medic threw a temper tantrum in the
middle of the ring since he was not getting a shot at
the title.

Match 6
"Impact Inc." JT Quest w/Xstacy vs. Steve-O (NWA
Mid-America Heavyweight Champion)

This was a non title match. Steve-O told Quest he was
tired of defending the belt since JT could not beat
him. Quest asked Steve-O if he could pick the referee
for this match. Steve-O agreed. His choice was none
other than "Impact Inc." member GQ!! So now the match
was 3 on 1. GQ confirmed with the announcer that he
would be fair and call it right down the middle. GQ
was warned that if he was not bias, the NWA Board of
Directors would be notified. JT Quest raked the eyes
of Steve-O and GQ never said a word. GQ made Steve-O
break many holds since he was "cheating". Each time
that Quest cheated, GQ pretended not to see him. Quest
was able to choke, low blow, use his fist or anything
else he wanted to do. If JT Quest was covering
Steve-O, GQ counted as fast as he could. However, GQ
counted as slow as possible when Quest’s shoulders
were on the mat. GQ realized that Steve-O was
recuperating and he did not want JT to lose the match.
Steve-O ducked a clothesline from JT but was
super-kicked by GQ. JT Quest got an easy 1-2-3 since
Steve-O did not have much of a chance with the odds
stacked against him. JT Quest held up the belt then
planted it on the head of Steve-O. Blood started
pouring out of the forehead of Steve-O. "Outlaw" Lee
Condry came running out to the ring to help Steve-O.
"Impact Inc." cleared the ring.

Match 7
Mid-America Tag Team Title Match...If "North & South
Connection" does not win, they will not get another
shot at the titles for 30 days!!

"The Syndicate Crew" LA Player, Psycho Medic, Karnage
& DeAngelo (Champions)
vs.
"North & South Connection" New York Gangster & Larry
Cooter (Challengers)

"N&S C" jumped "The Syndicate Crew" before the referee
could call for the bell. Cooter was able to get a
quick 2 count on Karnage. NYG was now the legal man
and the "Crew" would not allow him to get to his
corner to tag in Cooter. Psycho Medic interfered in
the match when he could sneak in behind the ref’s
back. Larry Cooter attacked De’Angelo and Medic on the
floor since the ref would not allow him to get in the
ring to fight. LA Player hit the "Fall Away Slam" on
NYG. De’Angelo and LA Player both super-kicked NYG at
the same time. "N & S C" regained the advantage. NYG
gave Karnage 10 fist while Cooter did the same to LA
Player. Larry Cooter was covering LA Player since he
was knocked out. The referee was clearing the ring of
NYG and Karnage. Psycho Medic slid in the ring and hit
the "Malpractice" on Cooter then rolled LA Player over
top of Cooter for the cover. The ref turned around
after getting control to see the cover and counted to
three. The winners and still NWA Mid-America Tag Team
Champions, "The Syndicate Crew". NYG and Cooter spine
busted the ref and hit him with a flying elbow. The
fans along with NYG and Cooter wanted 5 more minutes.
Mike Porter and George Gulas agreed. "The Syndicate
Crew" said there was no ref so no match could happen.
Mike Porter was the new ref and the bell rang. "N& S
C" were not going to be pinned this time. They fought
with all they had. The "Crew" stopped the pin fall
count many times by pulling Porter’s leg as he was
counting. Cooter hit LA Player and Psycho Medic with a
double clothesline. Karnage was now the legal man
apparently and as Cooter threw him to the ropes, he
was pulled out of the ring by other members of the
"Crew" After 3:54, "The Syndicate Crew" had cleared
the ring and was counted out. Since "The Syndicate
Crew" agreed to the 5 more minutes, it made the
previous contract for the "North & South Connection"
30 day stipulation null and void. Next week, will be a
8 MAN TAG MATCH "North & South Connection", Mike
Porter, and George Gulas vs The Syndicate Crew, who
was really mad at the decision and faced Porter and
Gulas. They all ran to the back except Medic who was
punched and chopped by Jimmy, Porter, and Gulas before
he could escape.

NWA PRO WRESTLING EXPRESS
VETERANS DAY SPECTACULAR
SATURDAY NOVEMBER 11th - 7:30 pm
at the
JACOB WOLL PAVILION - McKEESPORT, PA

NWA Pro Wrestling Express returns to action on Veterans Day, Saturday November 11th at Renzie Park’s Jacob Woll Pavilion in McKeesport, PA at 7:30pm.  Tickets are only $12 for ringside, and $10 general admission.  Kids age 12 and under are only $6.

BRANDON K ISSUES CHALLENGE FOR REMATCH

The despicable action of Chris Taylor joining forces with Paul Atlas and Curtis Stevenson took place at PWX’s 12th Anniversary show.  Unfortunately for PWX fans, it happened after Chris Taylor pinned Brandon K in the middle of the ring to win the NWA-PWX Heavyweight Championship.  Taylor claimed that it was his destiny to win the championship, and he did it without any controversy.  But, the loss has not sat well with the now former six-time champion, K.   K has demanded a rematch, and a chance to regain his title.  Will Taylor show the same respect that K showed him in accepting the challenge for his newly won crown, or will the areas’ most revered wrestling championship now be a pawn in the game that the AWC is playing with PWX.

DESTINY & BLITZZ DEMAND ANOTHER TITLE SHOT

Three times now the Devil’s Advocates have retained the NWA-PWX Tag Team Championship against their most persistent challengers – the unlikely team of JB Destiny & QB Blitzz.  Each time Devil Bhudakahn & Jake Garrett have beaten the challengers, they have looked stronger than the time before.  The first time they walked away from the match without being pinned, and retaining the titles.  After the next encounter, they walked away having burned the face of Destiny.  At the 12th Anniversary show, they walked away with a pinfall, the titles, and with Destiny’s boytoy Bret Paradise as their ally.  Destiny has demanded yet another match with the champs, but he has almost no ground to stand on, as the challengers have come nowhere near beating the champions.  Will the Devil’s Advocates even bother to pay lip service to this challenge, or will they focus their efforts into defending their titles against other worthy challengers?

SABOTAGE READY TO DEFEND BRASS KNUX GOLD

“Silent Assassin” Sabotage managed to best the field of challengers to capture his first piece of NWA gold when he defeated Wes Draven to capture the AWC’s version of the Brass Knuckles Championship.  On November 11th, Sabotage will make his first title defense, and he is welcoming all challengers.
“The Atlas Wrestling Company has put their faith and their money behind me, and I plan on being the Brass Knuckles Champion for a long, long time,” said the champion when asked about his first title defense.  “ I am ready to defend the title against anyone Mr. Atlas and Mr. Stevenson put in the ring against me.”  The influx of talent to the PWX courtesy of the AWC leaves Sabotage’s list of potential challengers wide open. Who will get the first shot on November 11th?

IS IT OVER BETWEEN ALLANOV AND DEVINE?

As fan favorite Nikita Allanov squared off with longtime rulebreaker Devin Devine at the 12th Anniversary Show, the support of the Pittsburgh wrestling fans was split right down the middle.  Many fans cheered as Allanov targeted the injured back of Devine, hoping to see the “Soviet Shooter” put an end to the career of the dastardly “King of Men”. However, just as many fans cheered Devine on as he battled a career threatening injury to enter the ring against Allanov, in the name of rallying the troops to fight for PWX.  The pinfall was earned by Devine when he managed to roll on top of Allanov while in a rear-naked-choke.  Allanov refused to break the hold however, which brought fellow Soviet, and AWC wrestler, Boris Naboka to the ring.  Naboka talked Allanov into releasing the hold, but the duo then laid the boots into Devine.
Nothing but questions arose from this match.  Did Allanov sell himself to the highest bidder, and become a member of the AWC?  Is Devine pulling another fast one on the Pittsburgh wrestling fans, or is he genuine in his actions?  How bad was Devine's injury going into this match, and how bad is it now?  Was this the final encounter in a feud that has been boiling in PWX for over a year?

BENNETT BLAMES DAHMER

After losing yet another match, Dash Bennett finally gave in to temptation, and took his frustrations out on long time partner "Syko" Sean Dahmer.  Bennett made no mistake, and informed everyone after hitting Dahmer with a series of nasty strikes to the head that he laid the blame for his stalled career in PWX at the feet of Dahmer.  It is no secret that Dahmer is a few bricks short of a wall, and that Bennett was a calming factor.  Will Dahmer seek revenge for the attack by Bennett, or will the memory of the attack turn to mush like so many other things in Dahmer's head?

HANSEN BACK FOR BLOOD

After losing a Pittsburgh Street Fight to Scottie Gash at the 12th Anniversary show, Crusher Hansen was not a happy man at all.

"You tell everyone in that lockerroom, all them young guys that cannot measure up to me and the guys I came up with, that the next time I get my hands on them, they are DEAD," declared a bloody Hansen as he received medical attention after his match on October 28th.

Hansen has long prided himself on his toughness, and his lack of a conscious.  Hansen has always been willing to do anything to anybody, even when he was calm.  What fury will Hansen unleash now that he is angry?

DRAGON EXTENDS WINNING STREAK

Despite the odds against him, PWX newcomer the Blue Dragon has continued his impressive winning streak, racking up another win at the 12th Anniversary show.  While it is obvious that the "Master of Fighting Arts" is still adapting to the mat game, he has continued to find ways to win, even when the AWC has thrown obstacles in his path.  The Dragon has virtually torn thru all of the other rookies and newcomers to PWX... when will he turn his attention to the veterans and title holders in PWX?

MAGNUM DEFENDING PWX?

When Krystal Frost squared off with Cupid at the 12th Anniversary show, it appeared to be a one sided affair, as Frost had the backup of Three Rivers Champion Paul Atlas.  But as Atlas raised a steel chair to lay a shot into Cupid, Quinn Magnum came to the "Dream Lover's" defense, and brawled out of the building with the AWC flag bearer.  Magnum, who has been missing from PWX competition since this past spring, saved the day for Cupid, but will he be stepping back into the ring to save the day for PWX against Atlas and the AWC?

NWA EMPIRE NEWS

Hello, and welcome to the first mailing of the NWA
Empire Mailing List newsletter. To give you newer fans
some background on NWA Empire (NWAE), the fed operates
out of the Buffalo, New York area.  It was formed this
past spring, and replaces the fondly remembered Empire
State Wrestling (ESW), which went out of business in
January.  NWAE is owned and operated by WNY wrestling
legend “Hellcat” Mike Rosario, who also owns and
operates NWA Upstate (NWAU), which run out of
Rochester, NY.  NWAE features many of the same
wrestlers who worked for ESW, along with a number of
wrestlers from NWAU.

MAJOR MATCHES ANNOUNCED FOR PILGRIMS & PILEDRIVERS
2006:

NWA EMPIRE HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNMENT FINAL
Pilgrims and Piledrivers 2006 is shaping up to be a
fantastic night of wrestling action, with the main
event scheduled to be the tournament final to crown
the first ever NWA Empire Heavyweight Champion.  NWAE
owner Hellcat will square off with Kevin Dunn (of Ring
Crew Express fame) in the finals.

Hellcat defeated Damien Alexander in the quarterfinals
at NWAE’s Buffalo Beatdown (6/17/06), and then beat
his former Team 4:20 tag team partner
Chip Stetson (who was subbing for ESW’s favorite son
Jonny Puma who was stranded in the Ottawa) in the
semifinals at NWAE’s The Next Era show (9/30/06).

Kevin Dunn defeated Chris Cooper in the quarterfinals
at Buffalo Beatdown, and NWAU Heavyweight Champion
“The Right Stuff” Brodie Lee in the
semi-finals at The Next Era.  Luckily for Brodie Lee,
his NWAU belt was not on the line in that match.

NWA EMPIRE TAG TEAM TOURNMENT FINAL
Also on tap at Pilgrims & Piledrivers 2006 will be the
tournament final to crown the first-ever NWAE Tag Team
Champions.  Veteran teammates Ben Smythe
& Brandon Thurston, (known as Wrestling, Inc.) will
take on the team of Frank the Tank & “The Tennessee
Strangler” Buddy Delmar (known as Rhythm &
Booze) in the finals.

Wrestling, Inc. won Bracket A of the tournament,
defeating the Dungeon Dudes, the Olsen Twins, and
Final Solution in a four-way match at Buffalo Beatdown
to advance to the finals.

Rhythm & Booze won Bracket B of the tournament,
winning a four-way match over the Kovac Brothers, the
Killer Steves & the All-Knighters at The Next Era
show.

LORD OF THE DANCE TITLE MATCH
At NWAE’s last show (The Next Era), “The Mastiff” Will
Christianson was crowned the first-ever NWA Empire
Lord of the Dance (3-way) Champion over
Chris Cooper and Damien Alexander.  Will pinned Chris
Cooper to win the match and the title.  Mastiff
promises to be a fighting champion, and will
be tested at Pilgrims & Piledrivers 2006 when he puts
the title on the line against Gabriel Saint and Kevin
Grace.

NWA EMPIRE HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE #1 CONTENDERS MATCH
In addition to the three title matches (the two
tournament finals and the Lord of the Dance title
defense), Damien Alexander and Chris Cooper
will meet in a match to determine the #1 contender to
the NWA Empire Heavyweight title.

Cooper and Alexander are no strangers to each other.
They both competed in the aforementioned inaugural
Lord of the Dance title match, and met on several
occasions when Alexander held the ESW Heavyweight
title during the early part of 1995.

RETURN GRUDGE MATCH – NO DQ RULES
Everyone was stunned at Buffalo Beatdown when Ron
Falco turned on his long-time partner and friend Eric
Everlast, blasting the unsuspecting Everlast in the
head with a full can of Coors Light and accepting an
offer to be managed by NWA Empire newcomer Amanda
Stroyer.

Prior to their break-up, Everlast and Falco had formed
the unstoppable combination known as Final Solution,
and were the last ESW tag champions before that fed
folded.

As stunned as everyone was at Falco’s actions at
Buffalo Beatdown, I think everyone was equally stunned
at the last show (The Next Era) by the
violence the two former friends displayed towards each
other in their first singles match since the break-up
of Final Solution.  That match ended in a DQ
when Falco blatantly used a kendo stick against
Everlast in plain sight of referee Danny Dubois.
After the match, E-Z-E challenged Falco to a NO
DQ match at Pilgrims & Piledrivers, which Ron
accepted.  If Falco and Everlast display the same
hatred towards each other in this match NO DQ match as
they did at the last show, NWAE officials had better
batten down the hatches for this match.
