The Rock, spouse give $2 million to UM

The Rock and his wife are giving $2 million to The University of Miami, the school where the star entertainer got his start as a college football player under the name Dwayne Johnson.
Their gift will pay for the Dany and Dwayne ''The Rock'' Johnson Living Room in a planned alumni center.
The Rock and Dany Garcia Johnson, who serves on UM's board of trustees, met at UM when both were students in the 1990s. Garcia Johnson is a financial consultant and former member of UM's crew team who earned a bachelor's degree in 1992. The Rock graduated in 1995.
UM described the Rock room as a ''regal space'' with a fireplace and stone floors.
The Rock made his name as a professional wrestler before branching into acting. His gift announcement is timed to coincide with the release of his movie, ''The Gridiron Gang,'' which premieres tonight in Miami.
