There was a great crowd, very full arena at the
Nationwide for Raw! The first dark match of the night
was The ThrowBacks from OVW (Duece Shade, Dice Domino and Cherry Pie) vs. two guys who said the were puerto rican, but couldn't pull off the accent. Throwbacks
worked the crowd well and got several chants of "USA!"
going. Throwbacks get the win.
Next match I believe was for Heat, Charlie Hass vs.
Akio. Charlie got a big pop from the crowd, being the
first recognizable face. Good back and forth match,
Charlie gets the winn with a reverse DDT. Next Heat
match was Matt Stryker vs. local jobber, didn't say
his name. Stryker was getting great heat from the
crowd, he won it with a move i can't remember. Oh he
also told everyone he does not eat poop! Up next was
the Big Show vs. two unnamed jobbers in a handicap
match. I gotta say the Show knows how to work a crowd, he did his corner chop spot, and when he told everyone to be quiet, you could've heard a pin drop. Show gets the win with consecutive chokeslams. The last heat match was Lance Cade vs. Viscera. Cade got a lot of boos, Vis got a mild babyface pop. Mostly the crowd
was disinterested until Cade nailed big Vis with a
chair shot and got dq'd. Cade got huge heel heat on
the way out.
Raw matches
Diva Tag Match
Surprisingly better match than i thought. All the
girls got good reactions. I actually got a few boo's
for cheering for Victoria and Mickey. Trish Stratus
pop was huge when she came out for the save.
Six man tag match
This was a short one, and the crowd cared less during
the match. The Spirit Squad got a lot of heet, and
Eugene got a nice pop, but once the match started,
people stopped caring.
Umaga vs. Rory Fox
This was the least reaction to anyone of the night.
The guys from OVW got more of pop than Umaga. It was a
quick match, and that may have been because nobody was
reacting to it at all.
Rob Conway vs. Kane
Before the match while at commercial, Rob Conway came
on the tron and told us he should be maineventing Raw
instead of getting called a loser by the fans. He said
the real losers were the people of columbus. Shawn
Micheals practically got a standing ovation when he
entered, good comedy stuff between Micheals and
Conway. Kane's pyro was so loud i nearly wen tin my
shorts, he got a chant of "May 19th" going through the
crowd.
Edge and Foley
Lita was first out and talked trash during the
commercial. Big chants of "Ho" everywhere. Edge got a
mostly positive pop. Foley, got a standing ovation, i
marked out like crazy myself. good segment, foley was
way over with Columbus.
RVD Carlito vs Masters Benjamin
Good match, Carlito and RVD got good pops. Masters
entrance is cool to see in person. The crowd wasn't in
to this one. RVD tried to get people going a few
times, but all he got were scattered "RVD" chants.
Charlie Hass got a big pop on his run it from the
crowd.
Joey Styles
Joey Stlyes speech was fantastic, it was one of the
best promo's i've heard in along time, the crowd was
50/50 during his altercation with Lawler. But his
speech was nearly drowned out by "ECW" chants. Good
stuff.
Cena vs. male cheerleader #4
Triple H came out to a huge face pop. He is way over
in Columbus. He came out the that new "King of Kings"
music, and they went to commercial in the middle of
his intro, so that weird song played for like 15
minutes. Trips played to the crowd and smiled at the
fans, he pointed out all his posters and did the i'm
not worthy bowing to his fans. Cheerleader boys got a
shower boos, to be expected. Cena got a big pop from
the female crowd, and a shower of boo's from the
males. Short match, big pop when Trips punched Cena.
Big pops when Trips was slow to count the pin. When
Trips was walking out and Micheals came out, the house
nearly came down. "DX" chants were sop loud they hurt
my ears. Great stuff.
Dark main event
Trips came out first to his "Game" music. Big pop
again. Edge got a face pop as well. Cena got more heat
this time as a lot of the girls cheering for him left
while the cage was set up. Good short cage match,
Trips climed out of the cage just as Cena locked in
the stfu on edge, right before Trips hi the floor,
Edge tapped out. Edge and Cena both got the Pedigree
after the mathc, huge pops on the Cena Pedigree.
