Show News & Notes

The night kicked off with the in ring return of JB Destiny to competition in PWX after more than three years.  Destiny took on Eisen Drache of the Apocalypse. The match did not last long as the experienced Destiny was quick to pick up a pin fall victory.

After the match 987 came out to the ring to confront Destiny, and they exchanged words.  Dirk Ciglar said that he came back to PWX for one reaosn only, and that was to get his hands on Barndon K - and that he didnt need all the games between 987 and Rage to do it.  Ciglar then took off his 987 shirt and left the ring.  Destiny said that he warned Venom that there was a traitor stabbing 987 in the back, and that if the group claiming to be 987 were really "987 material" they would see it clear as day. After hearing this Crusher Hansen took it upon himself to instruct the members of 987 to step up and do what needs to be done, and Chris Taylor attacked Devin Devine, and was quickly joined in by the rest of 987 as Destiny left ringside.

The next match was announced as the winner receiving the final spot in the Mendeza Memorial Tournament on March 30th, and that Devil Bhudakahn was allowed by Scott Venom to pick his opponent for the match.  Bhudakahn picked his opponent as his disciple in Apocalypse, Mantis666.  As Mantis666 made his way through the entrance he seemed to be attacked, and drug back thru the entrance curtain.  After a couple of seconds went by, somebody else came through the curtain with the Mantis mask on. It clearly was not Mantis666, as once he got into the ring he revealed himself to be Nikita Allanov. Devil Bhudakahn refused to wrestle stating that this was not the match he signed for. However, referee Harold Potter got on the mic and said that he couldnt help it that Mantis666 chose tonight to reval his true identity as Allanov, but that there needs to be a qualifying match that taking place, and Potter called for the bell.  Bhudakahn wanted nothing to do with Allanov at first, but then with his fellow Apocalyptian Jake Garrett making his way to ringside, the shennanigans began, and Bhudakahn was quickly on top of one hald of the PWX Tag Team Champions.  Allanov managed to hit Bhudakahn with a Russian Leg Sweep, and locked in a Wagner-lock, but Garrett entered teh ring and Potter disqualified Bhudakahn, giving the match and the spot in the Mendez Tournament to Allanov.

Rage's Quinn Magnum & Mad Mike came out and made a promise to all of the fans to beat the hell out of whoever they felt most deserved it. As they asked the fans, many names were getting yelled out. Two names that were louder than the others were no doubt Crusher Hansen and Chris Taylor. After hearing the fans reaction, both Quinn Magnum and Mad Mike promised that they were going to hunt them down and bring them out.

Seth James came out to the ring next accompanied by Paul Atlas. His opponent was none other than 1/2 of the NWA-PWX Tag Team champions, "The Stab Master Arsonist" Bigg. Before the match could begin, Scott Venom came to ringside and said that because of his blatant attack on Mantis and disregard for the rules, Allanov was losing his spot in the Mendez Tournament, and the winner of this match woudl get the spot.  Once the match started, Bigg seemed to be in control of things, but with Paul Atlas on the outside, it was a safe bet he would help James turn things around. Once James got control, he tossed Bigg to the outside where he Atlas was able to get his fair share of shots in. After this, James began to deliver a beating to Bigg on the outside. Bigg fought back and seemed to have thinsg in control, and he started to head to the top rope for his frog splash, but Atlas got on the apron and knocked him down. Bigg was able to land on his feet, and he went right after Atlas, which allowed James to roll Bigg up form behind, and get a little leverage from the ropes to earn a three count.

After the match James and Atlas circled around Bigg, but Nikita Allanov came out and evened the odds. While helping Bigg up, Devil Bhudakahn & Jake Garrett attacked from behind, laying both Allanov and Bigg out.  After the beat down Bhudakahn got the mic an issued a challeneg for the Tag Team titles at Mendez on the 30th.

BC Steele was out next and invited Cupid and Blue Dragon into the ring with him. Steele said if the duo were willing to do anything for a spot on the PWX roster, then he had some ideas. Steele told Cupid all he had to do was to read a note, and he woudl have a contract for Cupid, Dragon, and a partner of their choosing to take on 987 at Mendez Memorial on April 30th in a six-man tag team match.  Cupid seemed hesitant, and didnt want to read the paper, but ended up doing so when Steele assured him it was allright.  In reaidng the paper, Cupid bad mouth himself, and called out QB Blitzz, came to ringside looking mildly intoxicated, chugging a beer, and accompanied by Scott Venom.  Blitzz seemed half aware of what was going on, but manged to spear Cupid and leave him laying in the ring. Venom then ordered the referees to get rid of Cupid and Dragon and sent them out the front door of the Palisades.
Venom then got on the mic and said that he was taking Blitzz's place in the Brass Knuckles title match, because Blitzz was not "ready for it" and challenged Sam Slej to coem down to the ring.  Slej came out and, as Brass Knuckles Champion, made the match a "choke slam match" which was not what Venom was hoping to hear. Slej easily picked up the victory and celebrated in the ring.  Fuming at having been outsmarted by Slej, Venom said that he was instituting a 24/7 rule on the Brass Knuckles Championship.  As Venom made the announcement, Rapture of Armageddon came out with a sneak attack.  Rapture came up short however, and Slej seemed more than ready to take on anybody else who was wanting a shot at his title, but nobody answered his challenge.

Mad Mike and Quinn Magnum came bursting out into the arena with both Crusher Hansen and Chris Taylor, just as they promised. They delivered multiple sign and chair shots and did what ever they could to try and show these members of 987 who they were dealing with. The brawl continued and even the referees were getting laid out with the weapons. BC Steele tried to make the save, but quicly regretted that idea, but was caught by Magnum as he tried to run.  Magnum and Mike pulled off Steele's shirt to reveal a bra, and Steele squirmed in embarrasmnet.  Magnum grabbed Steele by the pants and pulled the contract for teh six man tag team match out of his pocket, and signed it, and said that at the Mendez Tournament on April 30th, the fans woudl finally get a Rage versus 987 match.

During intermission, Revelation attacked Sam Slej as he talked with fans at ringside, but was quickly pinned by the Tri Chi, who once again retained the title under 24/7 rules.

Paul Atlas challeneged Eric Extasy for the Three Rivers Championship next, with Dan Miles and Seth James at ringside.  Extasy seemed to be in a world of trouble with a 3-on-1 situation, but ill timed interference by rookie Miles led to him colliding with ATlas while on the apron.  Extasy took advantage and nailed Atlas with a DDT, and got the pinfall to retain the title.  James, Miles and Atlas quickly attacked Extasy, and began laying in the boots until Sam Slej, Nikita Allanov and Bigg made the save.  Extasy was on the outside of the ring, and Bigg and Allanov began to help him to the back.  Slej got a round of applause going for the injured Extasy from inside the ring, but was , attacked by a street sign weilding Scott Venom, who rolled Slej and had BC Steele count to three, giving Venom the Brass Knuckles championship.  As Venom celebrated winning the title, he announced that "As of right now the 24/7 rule is officially..", when he was stopped in mid sentance with a shit from the same street sign from Slej, who then after pinned Venom to get the Brass Knuckles title back.
The next match was just what both Brandon K and Dirk Ciglar have been waiting for, as they were set to go one on one. The match started out with K taking control, with K quickly getting Ciglar in a crabhold.  Ciglar's plan unfolded hwoever, as plans Chris Hamrick came into the ring and delivered a super kick to K.  Both Hamrick and Ciglar laid the boots into K until Justin Idol came out to even things up.  Idol got on the mic and challenged them to a tag match, and they accepted. The match began and the action was fast paced from beginning to end as both teams were going back and forth. All competitor were pulling off impressive offensibe moves, and in the fast pace K was able to roll up Hamrick for the three count to score the pin fall.  Hamrick wasd furios at the "fast count" by referee Harold Potter, so he piledrove the referee, and Ciglar nailed him with a Swanton bomb.

It was now time for the main event as Crusher Hansen & Chris Taylor took on Scottie Gash & Daron Smythe in tag team action. Gash and Smythe did not seem to be on the same page at all, and this was allowing Hansen and Taylor to have the upper hand through out most of the match. Once Gash and Smythe started gaining the upper hand, Venom entered the ring and the ref rang the bell. 987 began to attack Daron and Gash until RAGE came out for the save. As RAGE stared down the menbers of 987, Smythe laid out Mad Mike with a chairshot. Quinn Magnum turned around and caught Smythe red handed. As Magnum pounded on Smythe, Gash ripped off his RAGE shirt to reveal a 987 shirt. Gash then picked up as sign and nailed Magnum. 987 then flocked into the ring and they all began to pummle Magnum and Mike.  Brandon K hit the ring to save his partners, but numbers quickly took over and soon all three members of Rage were getting nailed with shots from weapons, and being wrenched in submission holds.  Scott Venom then got on the microphone and called out JB Destinty, so he could gloat about the newest menbers of 987.

Destiny's music hit and as he made his way to ringside, Venom said there wasn't a turn coat in 987 but in RAGE.  Venom then called out Destiny, and asked him if he thought he was so smart now, staring down the group he started, 987.  Destiny got on the mic and remarked about how "tough" the new 987 was calling out a man who they knew had no friends in the back. He said that's he brought his own friends, and out came Big Poppa Gator. JB then took off his jacket and Gator his high-roller's vest, revealing 987 shirts, and the 987 members that were in the ring went after Rage, who were now trying to collect themselves outside the ring.   Venom offered a hand to Destiny, but instead Gator nailed him with the Party Crasher, and Destiny nailed the JB Splash and leg drop.  Gator grabbed the mic said a lot of things have changed in his life, but one thing that would never change would be "987".  A staredown took place as Gator and Destiny stood tall in the ring, and Venom's 987 headed to the lockerroom.

plus...

SIX MAN TAG TEAM WAR!!!
RAGE
versus
987
Nobody saw it coming. NWA-PWX Heavyweight Champion Daron Smythe joined forces with 987, and left RAGE laying in the middle of the ring on April 15th.  As the revised version of 987 beat down Quinn Magnum, Mad Mike and Brandon K, 987's braintrust of Scott Venom and Crusher Hansen handed Smythe a 987 t-shirt, which the champion proudly put on. 987 added firepower, shortly after being duped into facing RAGE in a six-man tag team match.  Pittsburgh wrestling fans, this is the match you have been waiting for, as the two most infamous factions in Pittsburgh wrestling history will lock horns on April 30th.  Can this version of 987 be stropped, by anyone? Will anyone from 987 want to get in the way of RAGE, when they are out for blood?

NWA-PWX TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
"Soviet Shooter" NIKITA ALLANOV & "Stab Master Arsonist" BIGG
defend the titles against
the DEVIL'S ADVOCATES - DEVIL BHUDAKAHN & JAKE GARRETT
No strangers to tag team gold in the Pittsburgh wrestling scene, the Devil's Advocates are on the prowl in Pro Wrestling Express, as Apocalypse's Devil Bhudakahn and Jake Garrett are out to capture tag team gold from champions Nikita Allanov & Bigg.  These two have never held the only tag team championship in the area that matters: the NWA-PWX Tag Team Championship, but adding to their list of accomplishments will not be easy, as the champions are two of the toughest competitors in the NWA today, and will not go down without a fight.  After convincingly leaving the champs laying on April 15th, will the Advocates be able to do it again on April 30th, to capture tag team gold, or will the reunion be ended with a bitter defeat?

and...

YOUNG LIONS RUMBLE
The eighth participant in the Mendez Memorial Tournament will be the winner of a battle royal featuring PWX's brightest young stars. So far, Apocalypse members Eisen Drache and Mantis666 have confirmed their entry into this battle royal. QB Blitzz, who has recently began to compete in singles matches, has also entered into the battle royal as well. An entry into the Mendez Memorial Tournament can be the opportunity for the young talent on the Pro Wrestling Express roster to make a name for themselves as a singles competitor.  Which of the "young lions" in Pro Wrestling Express will get the chance on April 30th?

ATLAS ELECTED TO "CIRCLE OF RESPECT"
In a surprise, one of the most hated competitors in Pro Wrestling Express history was elected to the "Circle of Respect" - Paul Atlas.  Atlas, a competitor who has held virtually every title in the history of PWX, including the NWA North American Championship, was overwhelmingly elected by the Pittsburgh wrestling fans from the top three nominees in this round of voting.
Atlas will be inducted into the Circle at the NWA-PWX event on May 14th at the Palisades in McKeesport

PWX NEWS & NOTES
Big Poppa Gator Returns
JB Destiny dropped hints that something big was going to transpire ever since his return to Pittsburgh Wrestling, but no one expected the return of another original 987 member. When Destiny came to ringside to confront Scott Venom during the April 15th event, Venom thought he had Destiny right where he wanted him - alone and surrounded. However, Destiny had one friend there to watch his back, his long time friend Big Poppa Gator. The fans cheered wildly as Gator announced that he would never allow 987 to change, and then laid out Venom with his patented "Party Crasher". What could possibly be happening that would make the original members of 987 align themselves with RAGE to stop what Destiny called a "kinder garden version of 987"?

Smythe and Gash Join 987

Nobody saw it coming. NWA-PWX heavyweight Champion Daron Smythe and RAGE's Scottie Gash were brawling with 987's Chris Taylor and Crusher Hansen. 987 members stormed the ring to attack Smythe and Gash, which caused not only a disqualification, and for RAGE's members to come to the aid of Smythe and Gash. Then, as Quinn Magnum and Mad Mike stared down 987, Smythe made his way to his feet, he picked up a street sign, and nailed Mad Mike in the back with it. Magnum attacked Smythe, as Gash ripped off his RAGE shirt to reveal a 987 shirt. Gash then grabbed a street sign and nailed Magnum in the back with it.
987 seemed to be getting anemic at the start of the April 15th card. Devin Devine seemed to be thrown out of the group. JB Destiny said there was a mole, breaking the group apart from the inside. Dirk Ciglar simply left, saying he didn't need 987. But at the end of the night, after two shocking blows from a hard metal object, 987 suddenly looked as strong as ever. Daron Smythe. Scottie Gash. Crusher Hansen. Chris Taylor. Scott Venom. BC Steele. As this six-pack beat down RAGE members, Smythe was then handed a 987, which the champion proudly put on.
No matter what the fans and the PWX locker room might say publicly, Venom has shown he is a devious manager of talent, and BC Steele has shown a willingness to put his money where his mouth is. Can this version of 987 be stropped, by anyone?

Devil's Advocates Reunite
The Devil's Advocates are on the prowl in Pro Wrestling Express, as Apocalypse's Devil Bhudakahn and Jake Garrett have decided to team up once again. These two are no strangers to tag team gold in the Pittsburgh wrestling scene, but they have never held the only tag team championship in the area that matters: the NWA-PWX Tag Team Championship.
Recently, Bhudakahn and Garrett have been focused on improving their army of sinners, with Garrett guiding Armageddon as of late, while Bhudakahn has been focusing on the development of Eisen Drache and Mantis666. With disappointment continuing to mount for the veterans of the Pittsburgh ring wars, the duo have decided to reunite, and bring gold back to Apocalypse.
While focusing on themselves has then scheduled for a title shot, they are running into two of the toughest veterans in PWX, Bigg and Nikita Allanov. After convincingly leaving the champs laying on April 15th, will they Advocates be able to do it again on April 30th, to capture tag team gold, or will the reunion be ended with a bitter defeat?

What's Up With Blitzz???
In recent weeks it has become clear that Blitzz has been confused as to where he wants to go. He doesn't seem to be seeing eye to eye with his frat brother Sam Slej, the current Brass Knuckles Champion. Scott Venom has extended an offer to Blitzz to join 987 on multiple occasions, but he has not given any signs as to whether or not he is interested in taking up the offer - or if it is in fact for real.
Forced by BC Steele to goad Blitzz into an attack on April 15th, Cupid seemed to be the victim of a rampaging drunk. If Blitzz was wallowing his sorrows in beer, he may not have been acting with a clear head when he attacked Cupid, but was he aware that 987's Scott venom was rooting him on as he laid waste to the "Dreamlover"?

Slej Defends Brass Knuckles Championship Under 24/7 Rules

Scott Venom is going to stop at nothing to take the Brass Knuckles title off of Sam "Hammer" Slej once and for all. On April 15th venom, after losing a "Chokeslam Match" to Slej, announced that he was forcing a new rule on the title, where it would be defended 24/7. Since that moment, competitors have challenged Slej for the title, including Rapture, Revelation, and even Scott Venom. At one point Venom did get the three count on the Hammer, but just as he was about to call off the stipulation, Slej managed to return the favor to venom, and get the title back. Since the shows, rumors of various wrestlers aiming to take Slej down have been spreading like wildfire. Venom has openly encouraged anyone and everyone to go after the Brass Knuckles at their earliest convenience - an obvious tactic to wear down Slej. Could there be a new Brass Knuckles champion by the start of the April 30th event, or will Venom still be stuck seeing the Brass Knuckles title belt around the waist of Slej?
