Dark Match & WWE Smackdown Spoilers Memphis TN

Just returned from the WWE Supershow in Memphis a couple hours ago. Thought I'd pass on some Smackdown spoilers.

First there was a dark match between Matt Hardy and Big Vito. Decent match with Hardy getting a huge pop from the crowd. Matt Hardy gets the victory.

Smackdown opens up with Randy Orton cutting a promo about WrestleMania. Good heel heat.

Next was the last chance Battle Royal to get into the Money In The Bank match at Wrestlemania. Entrants were Bobby Lashley, Mercury and Nitro, Kid Kash, Jamie Noble, Scotty Too Hotty, Mexicools, Kendrick & London, Funaki, Nunzio, Sylvan, Nunzio, Orlando Jordan, Simon Dean w/ Gymini, Paul Burchill, Road Warrior Animal and Tatanka.

Animal was last in and he talked some smack before the match saying he shouldn't even have to be in this. He  got in the ring, demanded respect, got beat down, and then eliminated. From then on it was your normal battle royal. The final three were Mercury, Nitro, and Bobby Lashley. MNM double teamed Lashley for a couple minutes. He finally battled back and went to eliminate both members but I think Nitro's right foot got caught up between the top an middle ropes. Lashley was quick to try an get him loose. He finally did an finished the elimination. Bobby Lashley is in Money In The Bank.

But the real story is that whichever member of MNM (cause I'm not 100% sure if it was Nitro that got hung in the ropes) played off by the ropes that he was legit injured. He sold the 'injury' all the way to the back.

Later in the evening, my brother overhead some of the security talking and they mention he may have torn or ruptured tendons in the foot. Since security guards aren't doctors, take this as either MnM selling this real well to the live crowd. Or maybe he was legit injured.

JBL cut a promo backstage claiming that Stone Cold broke his nose at SNME. Thus to wrestle Chris Benoit tonight, Bradshaw announced William Regal would stand in his place.

Back to in-ring action and its Rey Mysterio vs Finlay. Pretty good match. Finlay really comes off well in this match and shows off some good wrestling aginst Rey. The end came when when the ref was bumped. Randy Orton then enters the ring just as Rey was going to hit his seated senton. Out of nowhere, Randy snatches Rey in mid air and lands an RKO! The ref recovers as Finlay is covering Rey. Gets a 1,2,3....Finlay defeats Rey

Next they setup the ring for a contract signing. Yep. A contract signing for a Boogeyman match. The contract signing was probably longer than the 'Mania match will be! (LOL)

Anyway, after the ring is setup, Teddy Long comes out and announces that at WrestleMania it will be Booker T and a partner of Teddy's choosing versus Boogeyman.

The Booker-man comes out with Sharmell. Some talk between Booker an Long. It ends up that Booker's partner will be his wife Sharmell. She looks like she will be sick.

Chris Benoit defeated William Regal in a pretty short match.

Main event is next and its Kurt Angle vs Mark Henry in a non title match. The champion is extremely over in Memphis. Good quality match in my opinion.

Mark Henry wins after the ref is bumped and Randy Orton comes out. He stalks Angle for the RKO but out comes Rey Mysterio. He tries the seated senton on Randy, but Orton drops out of the way an Rey connects with Angle. This would lead to a bit of a scuffle between these two ending with Angle getting the 619 from Rey Rey. And that's how Smackdown went off the air.
